Very nicely done on the adventure, and you greatly improved on the rationale for leaving Ginny behind! I loved your decision to use canonical information from CoS and GoF! It seems reasonable that Tom Riddle would have chosen a curse or two for the Tri-Wizard Tournament that he had already entrusted to guard a Horcrux. Good job with the descriptions and the way you had the protagonists cooperating throughout. You used the history presented in the canon very smoothly, keeping things consistent while writing your own narrative. I'm looking forward to the reunion with Ginny, especially given the tactless way Harry notified her about his departure!

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked this first adventure, mostly because the first draft read like a laundry list that wasn't very interesting. Once I started incorporating past canon and information from Fantastic Beasts the fact that the protagonists cooperated so well just fell into place. Also, this was another place where some of my own theories came into play, especially about the wand being Ravenclaw's relic. I must admit that I was a bit disappointed when Rowling chose the diadem instead of the wand hiding in plain sight, but that's author privilege, I suppose. I think you'll enjoy the next few chapters and I anticipate your next review. Thanks for reading and commenting.

This part of the horcrux hunt definitely reminds me of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, where Indiana has to solve riddles and to pass through several protective booby traps to get the Grail. It was very well written and fun to read.
At the end, it was pleasant that Ginny also was able to contribute. Harry can be lucky that Ginny is much more forgiving than I am. But that's what I like about Ginny.

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked how this adventure turned out for both Harry and Ginny. While it still rankled a bit that she had been left behind, Ginny came to understand what her role was for him and she realized the importance of her place in it for him, Hermione and Ron. Thanks for reading.

Ah ha...so the shiny stones were really little creatures. Were they there to make it looks like a rockfall? A discovery by accident as Harry kicked what he thought was a stone by accident (grins).

I loved the riddle...I was able to work it out but it was still challenging.

Harry was right to warn the others to be cautious. It is often when we are "celebrating/" that our guards are done and that is often when the worst damage can be done, whatever the situation is. The mouth closing on Harry must have been terrifying and it must have taken tremendous concentration not to give in to the horendous panic he must have been suffering. When the grappling hook fell I was sure it was going to whack him on the head...so it was a relief when that didn't happen...not sure my nerves would have stood up to that!

I can't believe the were gone for 20 hours...no wonder Neville and ginny were worried. But what an amusing image...Neville fingering is ear while warning Harry to make sure Ginny has a bit more information next time!

Great action over the last couple of chapters...cant wait to read on:)

Author's Response: The pogrebins were put into the tunnel to discouarge intruders from reaching the basilisk's lair, should they gain access through the statue's mouth. Tom Riddle didn't really want anyone figuring out the riddle on the wall (like you and Hermione did). One of the other reasons Dumbledore wanted all three to go on the Horcrux hunts together is for safety: three heads are always better than one, and it helped Harry immensely to have Ron and Hermione's support from the ground when he thought he was going to be stuck in the tunnel. Just knowing he needed to get back to his friends helped him keep a level head and think things through before he was stuck permanently! You know, I don't recall even considering having the grappling hook hit Harry on the head when it was dislodged. If I were to write that part again, I'd still concentrate on getting Harry to safety and letting the reader imagine what became of the hook. As for Ginny and her tirade, Neville was miming the fact that she'd been bending his ear for nearly the entire twenty hours Harry, Ron and Hermione had been gone. I'm glad you liked this and the previous chapter.

Pogrebins! I should have guessed - you've been deeply into Scamander's book. I enjoyed the mystery elements and the riddle. Yes, I tried to work it out for myself before reading on.Clever to have the statue react that way, and good to have the link between Ginny and Harry exploited a little. I'm looking forward to finding out more about that. Also, judging by the way chapters keep notifying in my e-mail and facebook, I need to read faster. Thanks for sharing your talent. SF

Author's Response: Would you believe you're one of the few who noticed I took a very good look through Scamander's book to find just the right creatures for this particular excursion? Anyway, I'm glad you had fun with the riddle and appreciated Harry's link with Ginny. I had a great deal of fun composing the first and will tell you that the second becomes more important to their relationship as the story progresses. Even though the story is finished, I love that you're taking the time to review each chapter as you read it. They keep the story fresh in my mind. Thank you for being such a faithful reviewer.

Cool adventure. I enjoyed it. The end with Ginny taking care of Harry was sweet.

Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed it. I was trying for something a little different and it looks like I succeeded. As for Ginny, she can't resist "mothering" Harry and taking care of his bruised arm gave her the opportunity to show him how much she cares. Thanks for reviewing. I look forward to your opinion of Chapter 11 when I finally get it up.

Quite well done, though I found the riddle a bit on the easy side. (To say nothing of the self-reference puns to be made of TMR leaving a riddle....)

Author's Response: Just so you know, I patterned the riddle after the one in GoF. That one was easy and I didn't want Hermione to become so totally discouraged (because of the Pograbins) that she gave up. As for TMR leaving a riddle, I assumed that he's so arrogant that he left something that easy because he planted other things that were difficult to get past. Thanks for reviewing. I always look forward to what you have to say.

well at lease they made it out alive an hermione was alright was a good thing..but then again ron can get one once in a while...kutgw

Author's Response: Thanks for the encouraging words. It wouldn't be a Harry Potter story if the trio didn't get out alive, whether or not they're all in one piece! Ginny's PoV comes in Chapter 11.
