I can't believe I lost track of this story. Picking up here, where I left off in 2011. The initial meeting between Ginny and Harry is going to great reading. You peg emotions well. Also, looking forward to Harry's reaction to the new that he has a son.

Hooray an update! I check all the time, and I was really hoping it wasn't abandoned. But I totally understand the complications that come with life and writing. :) First off I would like to say that I also really enjoy the Ginny/Jackson scenes. I am someone who has grown up with a young mother and no father, and I must say you do a very good job of depicting the kind of relationship that evolves from those circumstances. That being said, I do sort of wish that we could see a little bit more of the fiery and witty Ginny of canon. Not that she's written poorly, and I understand she's an emotional wreck, but one thing I see as a constant theme in fan-fiction Ginnys that bothers me is she never wants to believe. I think the one thing that separates Ginny from almost all the other characters is that you never see Ginny's belief in Harry waver, even when she thinks he's being a prat. I.E. OOTP. That's why I like her so much. The way I always imagine her dealing with her anger towards him is that first she slaps him as hard as she can, and then snogs him senseless leaving very little time for him to react. Haha. But that's just my opinion. :) Well done overall! Can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response: I'm glad to see you were excited for the update. And I don't plan on ever abandoning this fic...only way that would happen is if something horrible were to happy to me (knock on wood) :) We will see that fiery Ginny--after she sorts through everything and sees that Jackson is going to be okay. Thanks again for reading!

I was pleasantly surprised to see the story update. I can empathize with you on updating. When I work on a story, I wait until I have a full, full rough draft or I can't finish (I haven't written any HP).

I've read several "Harry lost his memory and its years later" stories, but I enjoy the element that this was not an accident. Harry's interaction with Ron and Hermione was great and I have enjoyed Jackson overall.

I felt like this chapter accomplished furthering Ginny and Jackson's confused emotions. For me, I didn't really need the Ron and Hermione positions with Jackson and Ginny, to draw out their emotions. It felt very reminiscent of their conversation with Harry. Overall, I feel like the emotions and thoughts we discovered about Ginny and Jackson were great, but I would have liked to see a different format to accomplish that, perhaps with more dialogue between Ginny and Jackson. In the end, I was only slightly unhappy with the use of Hermione and Ron, beyond relying the information only they had.

However, I still enjoy this story a lot. Please take this as constructive criticism of a happy fan. I look forward to your next chapter.

Author's Response: Sometimes getting the time to write can seem impossible and I think I'll never get the next posted, but I like to make sure I've got something I'm proud of :) I'm glad you're enjoying the story and the take I've tried to do on the general theme and story line. I'd hoped I'd hit on something different--and although sometimes people aren't going to like it necessarily--it's not been done before. Ginny and Jackson will have their conversations about things--maybe not straight away in the next chapter. And I do appreciate your constructive criticism, because it is constructive :) Your suggestions and criticism isn't at all an attack on everything I've tried to do and will change the fundamental nature of the story if I'd go with them. So I welcome your words :) Thanks again!

I was just looking through the stories the other day trying to remember the title so I could check the status, and low and behold you post the update. I wasn't sure about the story when I first started reading it but it has grown on me and I love the way it is going. I am really looking forward to the reunion. Thanks for writing!!

Author's Response: I'm glad you've come to enjoy the story and you've continued reading. It's always good to hear:)

Wow...great depiction over what Jackson and Ginny must be feeling, and I'm soooo glad you had Ron go to his nephew. I don't think Ginny could have helped him in quite the same way in her state...as you probably figured yourself. I think the confusion that was felt was right on target, but I must say that I would have thought Ginny might have had a stronger moment of anger. Perhaps after Ron left and before she went to check on her son. It just seemed missing to me. But all in all it was a fantastic chapter. I am dying to see the reunion. And I know, I know, Harry doesn't know about Jackson yet so he doesn't fully understand the magnitude of the situation, but I really do wish he would be a little more eager about making things right with the love of his life. Even if that doesn't mean they get together.(Which I'm assuming they will eventually.) Sigh...so many ways it could have been handled. No one is going to be completely pacified. Did you sway a lot in how to handle Harry's reaction? I often go back and forth between SEVERAL different versions in my own writing.

And to everyone who's being so freaking negative...chill out. It's not your story. You can disagree, but when it's all said and done, it's the writer's vision. How can any of us say we know exactly how any of these beloved characters would reaction eighteen years into the future? People change over time. This is a fantastic story, and I'd be extremely pissed if its author lost any bit of will or enthusiasm to write it because it's attacked.

Props to the author. It's not my favorite chapter, but it was still very well done. Looking forward to Harry redeeming himself. Still a little put out with him, but he's beginning to win me over. :)

Author's Response: Thanks first off for reading and leaving me a review. Yeah, I def. didn't want Ginny to go just because she didn't know everything and her own emotional state wasn't conducive to being able to help her son deal with things at that moment. And Ginny is angry...it just hasn't come out yet :) And regarding Harry's willingness to quickly make things right...I think there's a level of fear there for him that she won't want him or even want to entertain the idea of having any sort of relationship with him. In his mind, part of the indecision and waiting is to delay what reaction might come from her. It's not something I swayed on...simply because the way Harry decided to react is kind of central to how future meetings happen and things develop. And thanks for your defense of this story against some comments. I have to admit that my first reaction was to continue to let things go...but for some reason that certain instance was something I couldn't just let go without responding myself. Don't worry, it's not caused me to become so disheartened that I'd want to stop this story...I just know that it has caused others to do so in the past.

Very well done. This was such an emotional charged chapter, had to be very difficult to write, but you pulled it off!

Author's Response: Thanks! This chapter did give me a bit of trouble along the way, but I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

Weasleys value honor, courage and bravery a great deal. As such, their reactions in this chapter were out of character and remarkable subdued and unrealistic. Anyone that has felt the immense heartache of a loved one's death would feel incredible betrayed and angry that the person had abandoned them, that the person did not have the courage or integrity to tell them goodbye or leave a note. This man you have named Harry is a craven soul who would be unworthy of canon Ginny. However, this subdued and too gentle Ginny has so little to do with Rowling's character that I am sure she has already forgiven this guy.

In addition, all of Ginny's family would be absolutely furious that Harry left her alone, poor and pregnant with his child while he ran away. If he has sex with her, then he had a responsibility to her to make sure she was healthy and NOT pregnant.

Author's Response: And people wonder why some authors stop writing and lose motivation to continue stories they've spent a lot of time thinking through and developing something they've become vested in. If you don't like, don't read it. IN fact, stop reading because I'm sure you're not going to enjoy anything else that's going to come. Claiming to know so much about how someone would or wouldn't react is a pretty bold assumption. And there is a reason there is an alternative universe stamp on this story to begin with. I'm not trying to rewrite Rowling. But like hers, each and every one of these characters are flawed--perhaps is a different way. I'm not looking for praise in every review or to get a pat on the back from every reader. I expect people to disagree with the way things are handled...but to have the Harry and Ginny I'm still trying to develop here attacked and called weak and unworthy is going to set me off. And as far is Harry's responsibility towards Ginny...tell that to the men and women in society today who take those responsibilities so much more lightly than I think you'll find they will. I do have to thank you for sharing your opposing opinion...I'll give you that. But I strongly caution you that you'll probably not like what's to come...

Author's Response: And this is the 2nd time you've claimed not to like this story and the third time you've given it a bad rating. And you're still reading? I guess I've got to be slightly happy about that...

Oh I do so look forward to updates for this story. The Ginny in this story is the one that I've come to love and how I always pictured her. The interactions between her and Jackson are just so reminiscent of how I pictured Harry and Ginny quipping back and forth, but with moments of sustained tenderness. I'm eagerly awaiting the next chapter. Keep up the fantastic work.

Author's Response: Thanks for your kind words for my story! I always like writing Ginny, so I'm glad you've enjoyed her. And I always picture Jackson and Ginny's son/mother relationship as part friendship. Ginny was doing her own growing up when Jackson was too and as a result have those cool little moments.

Excellent chapter! Ron is an amazing character and has truly grown into his own. Just love seeing the similarity between Ron's and Jackson's emotions. It will be hard waiting for the next update. Wonderful writing skills and lives up to the pen name.

Author's Response: Thanks for reading and leaving your review! I think Ron and Jackson share so much of a bond because of Ron's previous relationship with Harry. Hopefully you won't be waiting too long :)

Choices have consequences... Remus, Hermione, Ron, and especially Harry have made life altering choices for Ginny and Jackson, and I find it hard to believe that Ginny and Jackson will find it in their hearts to forgive them all. I know you keep saying Harry's not the bad guy... he just made choices, but those choices have consequences, and drastically affected someone he claimed to love. His consequence should be the loss of that love and their son. He sure as hell doesn't deserve either one of them! The choices Harry made should be unforgivable if you are Ginny. Remus should never be forgiven either - he knew! Yet, he chose to watch Ginny suffer. I hope she tells them both to kiss her arse and takes Jackson away from them and all of the crazy lies. After all, its only fair that she finally get a choice about their lives, and I hope she makes it alone. Vindictive? Yes. Justified? Definitely! I normally love Harry, but this isn't Harry. So whoever this is can go away.

Author's Response: I've never said that they're going to forgive and forget so easily. Right now they're trying to wrap their heads around what just happened. And Harry is and will become acutely aware of just what his choices have meant as we go on.

Oh, wow! A great chapter. Very emotional, and just tugs at the soul. I love the reactions you had for Ginny and Jackson, though I do wish they hadn't had to go through it. You describe the inner turmoil very well. I can't wait to see what you do next. I hope you'll update the story soon. I was almost dying, after the previous one.

I do hope you won't be too hard on Harry. The choices you had him make, I feel fit his character to a T. Now, he needs to come home, and reunite with Ginny and Jackson. I can't wait for that part.

As I said before, excellent chapter.

Author's Response: Well I hope to not keep you waiting too long with the next update :) And thanks for not wanting me to rake Harry over the coals as some readers do. I think that perhaps Harry's own guilt and remorse are enough punishment and torment to deal with. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

I am really not a fan of Harry in this story yet. Mistakes I can understand, but I am not sure if he even realizes the enormity of what he did to Ginny and Jackson, or if he'd ever be able to forgive himself, leave alone begging them for it.

I like the story, the angst is gripping, the only thing is that I wonder if any resolution is going to be satisfying. Try as he might he'd never be able to return the lost years to Ginny and his son. I am sure a woman in Ginny's position would spend a long time, perhaps years wondering if the man who just left her, ever really loved her.

I hope there is some redemption for Harry, but honestly, I would expect him to come crawling on his hands and feet, for even a speck of forgiveness,

Author's Response: Harry doesn't realize the 'real' impact and enormity of the situation yet because he doesn't know about Jackson. And while there will be resolutions to come...I'm not sure he will every forgive himself completely.

So glad to see a new chapter. Nice Ron/Jackson interaction. I liked that Ginny surprised Hermione with her reactions to Hermione's words and news. You seem to have an incomplete sentence when Ginny is thinking about Harry having a daughter. What a tremendous upheaval their lives are in now. And it seems that there is still so much to come. Looking forward to the next update.

Author's Response: Thanks for your review and kind words. I think Ginny surprised herself with her own reactions, although she's still confused over how she really feels about everything.

A very well-written chapter. The angst is just oozing off of the pages (if there were pages). I know that I am far more angst-adverse than most readers, so I have probably just about reached my limit, but it does seem like we are on the verge of something more positive now. Commenting on the discussion in some other reviews: Harry should come to Ginny and Jackson. It was Harry’s misguided decision that caused this whole mess in the first place. He should be coming to them on hands and knees, seeking forgiveness. Finally, I was not crazy about Hermione in this chapter. I am not sure why. I guess she is just trying to be helpful and your portrayal was certainly in character.

Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing. I can't guarantee that the angst will go away completely as we go on, but I can promise that we'll have happier times coming up:) And you dislike for Hermione might be a product of my writing...I always have the toughest time with her.

Reviewer: Harte Signed Date: 2011.08.28 - 08:40PM Title: Are We The Waiting?

What a great chapter. One of my favorite parts was when Ginny went to look at the pictures and you described how they all cocked their heads, I could just picture it happening. You handled Hermione's disclosure of Harry's daughter perfectly in character. I didn't want the chapter to end. Hope the next one flows more quickly. Thanks.

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked the bit with the pictures. It was totally a spur of the moment thing that I kind of just added in as I went because it seemed to flow. Thanks for reading and reviewing :)
