Thank you for recommending that I take the time to read this story in order to understand "What Goes On." I see the connections between the two and how those connections have shaped Harry into the adult he eventually turned out to be. True, his past probably leant a considerable influence to the adult in this story, but it was the people he connected with and his personal choices that ultimately guided him into being a responsible dad and college professor.

Unlike some of your readers, I don't think Harry's poor choices as a very young adult detract from the adult he has become. I say this because we all make mistakes and we all learn from them, some more than others. I think it's the consequences of our actions that ultimately shape us, causing us to take stock and like or dislike with what we see and ultimately act on it. That Harry changed jobs and is trying to quit smoking because his daughter asked him to says a lot about the sort of father he has decided to be.

I am not ashamed to say that I have fallen in love with your character Jackson. My heart goes out to him that until he is seventeen years old he and the rest of his family believe that his dad is dead. The struggle to grow up without a parent definitely shapes a child's growth and I think Jackson is a bit luckier than Harry was because he has the support of a loving family behind him. What I love about this young man is that he's personable, polite, resourceful, respectful and talented just as his dad was at his age. He's every young woman's ideal of the perfect boyfriend and every parent's ideal escort for their daughter: his choice not to have sex with Anna tells the reader that he knows what his limitations are and that he's not ready for certain adult pursuits. Ginny certainly raised him right.

I love the interaction between Anna and Jackson. While being boyfriend and girlfriend is a new turn in their relationship, I think that because they started out as friends first, they will weather the ups and downs that come with being together much better than two people who meet for the first time and have to learn about each other at the same time that they are falling in love. They remind me of Harry and Ginny at that age and when Jackson turns to Anna instead of his mother the morning after they discover Harry is alive, it seems fitting that he finds the solace he needs in her instead of Ginny…a sure sign he's growing up.

Thank you for bringing a bit of closure to the story by writing the reunion chapters. Harry's generosity in accommodating the entire Weasley family is a fitting end to the story and while there are still some unresolved aspects, I, as a reader, am satisfied that eventually things will resolve themselves to the characters' satisfaction. I can leave off reading this story knowing that Jackson has met and talked with his dad, that Harry is successful and happy, that Ginny is happy with who she is even though she and Harry have yet to reconcile fully, and that Harry and Sophie have been accepted by the Weasley family as the "American branch" of that family. Therefore, if you never finish this story, I'm glad I've spent time with your characters and been entertained by their narrative.

Author's Response: Wow! I just realized today that it's been nearly a year since I posted a new chapter! I apologize and I'm actually going to spend some time this weekend writing and see what I can produce. I literally have been on the same 2 pages for 6 months--between a new, full-time, grown-up type job :) and just the craziness of moving to a new city--I have to admit that I've been hard pressed to find time to write. Although I'll make no promises or create deadlines, I'm going to try to have something up before the year actually elapses!

I agree with all of the comments already made. The way you write your interactions is masterful! I particularly loved Arthur in this chapter. He's fantastic at loving people through difficult situations. Like everyone else, I'm looking forward to the H/G interactions, but understand Ginny's reluctance. Sophie interacting with Ginny and the rest of the Weasleys would also be outstanding!

I actually think it would be perfectly appropriate for you to post your Harry and Ginny sidestories at SIYE, especially if you post them as part of a series with RHS. The whole thing (all 3 stories) is H/G, even if the prequels cover a different time period. I don't know; maybe you should talk to the admins about it. Those of us without LJ accounts would probably like to more easily read and comment on the prequels.

This story is fantastic! While we all would like more frequent updates, please don't compromise the quality to make it happen. I'm in favor of whatever artistic process results in this level of writing!

An excellent chapter, did I expect anything less from you? Loved the interaction between Harry/Jackson but can't wait to see it between Harry/Ginny. Would love to see how/if you do anything with a Ginny/Soph interaction as well. Definite hhigh five to Arthur. You bring such life to these characters and cannot wait for more. Author's Response: Thank you for your continued faith in my writing...no matter how long it takes me to update! :) You will see some Ginny/Sophie interaction as well as the much awaited Harry/Ginny interaction that I've been building up to. And I love writing Arthur for some reason, so I'm glad he's translated onto paper how I think of him in my head. And while it may take awhile between updates, I don't think I could live with myself if I abandoned it. I know exactly how it's going to end, so if I never finished it, I'd drive myself mad! :) Thanks again!
