Hadn't been remembering this chapter that well...but what a great one!

The rich dialog heightens my looking forward to "other" conversation-yet-to-be-had that they talk about early on.

Now, i go to unwrap the present of the next chapter...

I love this story. I know I've mentioned that fact in another review, it's still true. I loved this story I had to reread it and get familiarized with the newest chapter. The characterizations were wonderful, and the budding relationship between father and son is so touching, the world cannot wait for more! But, really, how you have crafted this beautiful, but oit perfect world has been a great journey and I can't wait until we can have that promised messing first meeting between our OTP.

Good job, and good luck with RL and writing! We'll be here when you're ready!

Author's Response: Thank you! I sometimes have to re-read bits of it too to make sure I'm not contradicting myself! And the next chapter is in the works. I won't promise it'll be in the next few days--but it will definitely be in the next week or so. Thank you!

This story has been one of my favorites since I first found it five years ago. It's been a while since I last read the entire story from start to finish, so when I discovered you had posted a new chapter, I decided to do just that. I can honestly say that I'm just as intrigued with the plot as I was when you first published the story. I love Jackson and the fact that while he's so incredibly mature for seventeen, he can pull stunts like going on a seemingly wild goose chase with his girlfriend in tow.

Another thing I really like about the story is how much introspection your characters do. Often, authors gloss over the psychological ramifications of either their actions or what they think of certain situations. You've taken the time to let the reader into your characters heads and really get to know them. Which brings me to this chapter.

It's a wonder that either of them can sleep, although Jackson dropping off is most likely induced by his nervous worry prior to meeting Harry for the first time. Harry's insomnia is understandable; he's spent the day reuniting with people he thought he'd never see again as well as learning about and getting to know Jackson. I think his talk with Ron will help him not only to heal his relationships with these people, but forge a new relationship with his son: just the confirmation that he still has a good friend in Ron–who incidentally shares his struggles with things he did in his past–will help him settle into a melding of his Harry and Evan personas. Their mutual admission that they both missed each other went straight to my fluffy spot.

I sincerely hope you will publish another chapter soon. This story is too good to wait a long time to learn what happens next. Well done.

Amanda,
Thank you for bringing this intriguing tale back to life. The two year sabbatical was Truthfully Amanda I had sort of lost hope and was on the verge of removing it from my Favorites file when miraculously you updated. I was truly pleased.
This story is so compelling and so well written that the readers is completely entrapped in this story and fully engaged in its telling. .. Many of the readers wants and dreams of what 'should transpire' are satiated but yet our imagination is set free to ponder on 'What is yet to come" and 'What yet may be'.
Please, don't make us wait to long for a new chapter. I am well into my dotage and I have more then my fair share of geriatric maladies. I truly would like to see this wonderful story through to its conclusion before I go on to "The next great adventure"
RXXII

P.S. Many of my observation of my PM to you of 6-21-13 remain the same. Hopefully I can find tine to update this PM with further observations in the next few day's.

Thanks for not letting your story die. I hope it isn't another two years before the next update. Real good feels between Harry and Ron.

After I posted an earlier review about expecting a Harry/Hermione scene ala the one I'd just read with Ron...the question of "is that really necessary?" immediately arose within me. I might have gone back and edited the comment if I hadn't already posted. Believe some mundane sense of 'fairness' or 'loyalty' was at play with Hermione, are likely never good motivations for creating a story.

In truth, feel you're truly correct regardless of your "reasons": it's Ron's camaraderie that Harry needed in that moment, as both his virtual brother and Ginny's actual brother. A scene with Hermione is likely to leave our eyes quite dry...which doesn't seem to attract you that often :-)

And yes, after getting off essentially scott-free from everyone else so far, the story utterly needs Ginny to absolutely tear into him. They each need that. Let Ginny be the fiery feline with her claws fully out...discharging her years of utter pain. Let Harry feel the reality of her justified rage, which he realizes he deserves, which is due.

May their catharsis flow....

So glad you are continuing with this story. You are one of the best, especially with these "alternate" endings. Always happy to see your work.

Author's Response: Thank you! Your praises mean so much and I'm glad to see that so many of the same readers that I heard from 2 years ago have continued to come back.

First of all, WELCOME BACK! I'm so glad you've not gone away forever! This chapter was fantastic. Much love!

Oh My Goodness!! I am so happy that you are continuing this story, it is wonderful and I can't wait to see where you take it. This chapter shows me you have grown as a writer during your absence. One thing the movies miss is the deep friendship between Ron and Harry and you have expressed this so well in this chapter. Loved it!

Author's Response: Thank you! I like to think that I've grown as a person over these years and I think that it has translated into my writing. So that means a lot to have someone say that. I'm just starting to get back into the groove again and hopefully won't ever let an update lapse like that!

glad to see your back.....now we need to see how ginny is going to take the new harry and givn the time to work out what they both are feeling....kutgw

Author's Response: Exactly! It may take some time and there will definitely be some bumps and bruises along the way--but they'll get there eventually!

Author's Response: Thank you for reading and reviewing! I look forward to being able to finally get some more of this story out. It's still bouncing around my noggin after all this time...

What a lovely surprise to see this update, it gives me hope that a couple of my other faves might do the same. RE the chapter, Im glad it was Ron who had the chat with Harry, those two are true best friends and it was good to see Ron be truthful about what Ginny went through without it being negative to Harry. Glad that Harry is planning a chat with Ginny, please dont let her be stubborn about everything. Too much time has passed, and the kids are whats important. But i do have hope that Harry and Ginny will find their way back to each other, and become a family. Welcome back, and please dont take another 2 years to update again LOL

Author's Response: I quite honestly couldn't believe it had been 2 years! For some reason I thought I'd updated once more last year--but I've really been sitting on this last chapter--re-writing, restructuring and sometimes staring at the same line for months on end--for a huge chunk of that time. But it feels really good to be back! And it was really important for me that Ron/Harry be the first relationship that gets back on track and that they rekindled that bond of brotherhood and friendship early on. As far as the Harry/Ginny chat(s) coming--I won't promise that Ginny won't have her moments of seemingly irrational stubbornness or that she won't say things that she'll end up regretting to him--but I can promise that this story will eventually live up to it's billing as a Harry/Ginny fic :) Thank you!

Quite happy to have this update. Love the emotional layers being added to the story.

Would think a complementary scene with Hermione is going to come at some point. And, I've long sensed that whenever Ginny and Sophie have any extended time together is going to be critical to the unfoldment of the story.

...now, are those going to happen before or after the initial H/G in-depth conversation?

Thanks

Author's Response: Thank you once again for your kind words and review! I hadn't really planned a Hermione/Harry-centric scene like what we had with he and Ron. Quite honestly, Hermione has always been the one character I've always had a touch of trouble writing to the point where I think I've done her justice. But she will definitely have her part to play as this unfolds. And you are very right in thinking that Ginny/Sophie interaction might play a role in patching things up or even just thawing some of the ice away... Thank you!

Yay!!!!! - so awesome to see an update. I'm not surprised at Harry's revelations to Ron. I was kind of expecting something like that. Good to see their friendship is still as close as it ever was. And it's even better to see that this story is continuing! Can't wait for more especially the big talk between Harry and Ginny - that's going to be a little emotional and messy I think.

Author's Response: I had hoped that with the initial meeting with Ron and Hermione in previous chapters that I'd at least alluded to the fact that Harry's past had been checkered and a bit wild. And for some reason I've always had it in my mind (at least for this story) that Ron struggled with things himself. And I really wanted to use that mutual struggle to bring them back together and cement this first relationship. I'm glad that many readers are getting that as well. And, yes, the Ginny/Harry meeting will be coming and it will definitely be much more messy than this one. ;)

Wonderful to see a new chapter from a favorite author. As I read, more of the story returned to me. Great to see Ron and Harry being casual and honest with each other. Hoping for a meeting with Ginny that generates some forgiveness and possible future for them as a couple but perhaps that is wishful thinking. Welcome back.

Author's Response: And from a writer's perspective it's always great to see familiar readers coming back stories and leaving reviews! I found it very important that Harry get some of the not-so-great aspects of his past out there before he can start to open up to the everyone--and I found Ron the most natural outlet for that. They've both struggled in their own ways and I was really keen to show that and create that connection between them. A meeting with Ginny will be coming up--and while forgiveness--or perhaps complete reconciliation--isn't immediate, it will be coming eventually :) And I'm very glad to be back.

Great to see an update. Ron and Harry are the same and yet they have both.matured.

Author's Response: Thank you! I agree. I think that they are both at points in their lives where they are comfortable with the men they are--despite all that has gone on in the past and the craziness that has happened more recently in their lives. I really enjoyed writing this exchange and I'm glad to have finally hashed it out and gotten it out onto the page finally.
