Once again you've given us another great story. Harry has always had an issue with sharing his feelings and emotions and it’s nice to see your thoughts on how he starts to open up to Ginny. As with a lot of these stories it’s left me wanting more, and I’d love to have another chapter or two with this one, if for nothing more than to see what happens when everyone starts waking up at the Burrow!

Long time no talk to. Hope all is well with you. It was a challenge piece, and as a rule, I try to keep them as one shots. I've had several requests for more on this one, and I am considering it, but as of yet I just haven't got enough of an outline fleshed out to write it.
I did just post a new story that will have several chapters. I think it may be my best stuff yet, I'm really quite pleased with it. Give it a read if you're of a mind to. I'd be interested to know what you think. Take care! - Mike

That was so sweet and thourough. I enjoyed seeing Ginny and Harry work toward one another and not just fling into each other's arms and say all was well. I really enjoyed that in the end Ginny was going to know more than anyone but Harry.

There has to be some kind of tension that drives the story (not that there was really any doubt here). It's only fitting I think that Ginny, who has had to put up with so much, be finally in the role of most trusted friend. Thanks for the review! - M

Wow...very well done. My own stories seem so inadequate now! LOL Seriously though, this story was extremely good. You did a superb job keeping everyone in character (extremely important to me...no Super!Harry or anything). I think the only spot in the whole thing that I, personally, felt a little off was the use of the bonus sentence regarding turning heads. Even still it was so well done. I really enjoyed this read, all the places you took them, and just the overall follow through. Congratulations on winning, it's definitely well deserved.

Author's Response: Thanks so much! Staying true to the characters is important to me as well. Not much for Super-lick-butt Harry. Part of what makes him an endearing character is his flaws. It's what allows all of us to relate to him. I don't recall the bonus question you're referring to, though I don't doubt you're right. Honestly, in past challenges I've worked all the bonus sentences in, but I only used two or three this time because I thought they were kind of lame. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for the congrats! Nobody was more surprised than me.

PS - I read nine of the eleven stories up to this point, but I think yours was one I hadn't yet got to. I promise I'll get to it sometime this week. I always like to make sure I support the challenge entrants.

Reading this story, I was struck by three things right off--three things I always look for and appreciate in a story. First, you immediately drew me into the story, almost as if I were interacting with a pensieve. Your characterizations and dialogue were spot on, and extremely entertaining. Second, you made me think (even before I'd poured myself some coffee). The premise and flow of your plot had me enjoying the process of what Harry was trying to accomplish with his choice of stops. I tried to second-guess him (and you), but was surprised more than once. Third, you made me appreciate the colors of the word you placed on your canvas. I love balance, flow and effective use of words, and yours was an outstanding product. It was a pleasure working with you on this. Thank you for the acknowledgement (although I don't spell Spenser with a C), and thank you for a fantastic story--Eric B.
Author's Response: First of all, I need to apologize yet again. You’d think I’d get remember to check that after goofing it up so much. I can offer no explanation other than I’m an idiot. Now on to your comments. I work hard to try and get the characterizations right. I know it’s what I look for in an H/G fanfic. The ones that seem to be worth their salt seem to be that way as well. If I was surprising YOU and making YOU think, then I truly have accomplished something. You’re about as sharp as they come. I really appreciate your comment on color and use of words. That one means a lot to me. I practically lived with a dictionary and a thesaurus (which is true with every story I write – makes one wonder why I have so many spelling errors, but I think I covered that already). You earned the props buddy. I just want to say that this was probably the best review I’ve ever gotten, so thank you for that. My last several stories are among the best received and reviewed of all my writing, and it’s no coincidence that you were the beta for those. You’re Top Shelf! You've done a nice job with this story. It's a testimony to how a little trust goes a long way to explaining a lot of things. I'm glad Ginny accepted the fact that Harry felt the need to tell her the things he did and wouldn't let her say what she wanted until he was finished telling her. I liked your story very much.
Author's Response: Thanks Arnel! I'm glad you liked it! I think the trust was assumed by Harry, but not perceived by Ginny. I don't think it was a case of Harry not trusting her so much as it was the fact he promised Dumbledore he wouldn't share it with anyone but Ron and Hermione, that and he really did want to keep her safe. I think once she realized that Harry could and would trust her more than even Ron and Hermione, that she finally let some of the bitterness of being left behind fall away. She was prepared to take him back at the begining, and would have but for Harry cutting her off. She let it slide because she REALLY wanted to know what had happened.
