Poor Ginny. I know what it is like to have a seriously ill husband for a long period of time. So many crazy thoughts go through your mind. You feel as though you will never have a normal married life again.

Author's Response: Then you know exactly what Ginny is feeling. Thank you for sharing this with me.

Ginny is lucky to have the support of a fantastic family...hopefully she can move forward. I don't quite know how to react to her revelation of separating from Harry and taking up with another wizard...I mostly want to rant at her but I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt as I have no experience of what she has been through.

Author's Response: Would you believe that I ranted at her--and so did my pre-betas--while I was writing this chapter? However, my friend who is helping me with the emotional aspects of this story tells me that such thoughts are natural to someone so emotionally overwrought as Ginny is at this point. What she needs, and is getting from George, is an open-minded listener who will let her rant and cry and eventually come to her own conclusions and still be there in the end to hug her and hold her until she is ready to go talk to Harry and her family and sort everything out...

It's heartbreaking to see Ginny in pieces. All the emotional/physical turmoil/ challenges that H/G's been facing - it could really test and rock the foundation of their marriage. Even though I can't still believe that Ginny will just give up (live in Grimmauld separating from Harry) - she's a tenacious, loyal character - I still get your point that she'll reach that breaking point/ depression stage, hence, not thinking clearly. She needs a shoulder to cry on and thank Merlin George found out her hiding place. Great story!

Author's Response: Ginny's just spent nearly three months neglecting her own needs to put Harry and her children on top of her priority list and now that she sees that there is indeed a light at the end of the tunnel, she suddenly doesn't know what to do with all the emotions she's hanging onto. I think that once she really thinks about it, she'll realize how much she loves Harry and won't want to live a separate life from him. I'm glad you reviewed this chapter. Thank you.

This installment finally addressed what has bothered me about this story for the last few chapters. I was very confused/distressed/annoyed that apparently no counselor or therapist at the Groves addressed the changes, adjustments, and issues that were inevitable for a married couple when one of the two was suddenly wheelchair-bound. Your story is true in that Harry's accident and its aftermath would shake his marriage to its foundations, yet it seemed very shallow and unrealistic that this was never addressed before his discharge.

I withheld reviewing for a few chapters, waiting to see where you were going; I am glad that you finally got to this point.

Author's Response: Harry has only been released from The Groves for the Christmas holidays. He'll go back to the facility before New Year's Eve. Healer Stilwell isn't finished with him yet! Therefore, there still may be time to have the two get some counseling if they want it, because this beeing a facility for both wizards and Muggles, there are counselors available... it remains Ginny's choice if she wants such help: most wizards, it seems, do not want emotional support of someone other than family or a close friend. There seems to be a stigma against seeking professional help because that person would be labeled forever as mental and I don't think Ginny is willing to bear that burden. You never know. There's lots more of this story to come. Thanks for reviewing and I'm glad I was able to answer some of your questions. Until next Thursday...

This is one of the best chapters yet.

Author's Response: I'm so glad you think so. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

I have a hard time believing that would really consider leaving Harry (abandoning him, really) and finding someone else just because he has been incapacitated to some extent. Other than that a very good chapter. I think you've captured Ginny's stress well. Looking forward to seeing what happens next.

Author's Response: Would you believe I couldn't believe Ginny would consider leaving her spouse either? However, according to my terminally ill friend, such thoughts do cross the minds of both spouses at one time or another when things become difficult. The two of us talked about taking that part out because at this point in time Harry is so much better than he was at the beginning of the story. However, I decided to leave that bit in because it shows just how frustrated, sad and depressed Gnny has become herself. I'm glad that other than this small part of the story you like the chapter. Next week it's Harry's turn to be emotional. Thanks for reading and giving me your opinion of the chapter. Until next Thursday...

That was a heavy chapter. Harry is getting slightly better and Ginny has got herself into an emotional mess, but should come out of it. What is happening about the person who is trying to kill Ron? Will Ron`s plan fkush out the matron? Still a lot to be revealed.

Author's Response: You're right about Ginny being able to come out of this emotional mess because she's now had a chance to talk about how she feels to someone she trusts and knows will keep her secrets because she's kept his. Wnat remains is for her to talk to Harry and her children and she's finally ready to do that. As for the bad guy who is trying to kill Ron, he's doing so on the Matron's orders and there's a lot more to that part of the story still to come. Thanks for writing to me. Until next Thursday...

As always great chapter. The only thing that bothered me was that it's only been about two months since the accident and Ginny is already feeling like this. I understand she is being irrational and she feels lost ,but still. I do wonder if she will tell Harry about this and his reaction to it. It's probably best that she doesn't though.

Author's Response: Ginny will NOT tell Harry she's entertained the notion that he'd be better without her. She's ashamed of having such thoughts, but because she has, she's thought about it more than she wants to. Have you ever thought of something you're ashamed of and then can't stop thinking about it? I think it happens to all of us. The one thing I didn't want to happen with my Ginny is to make her a super-wife who takes everything in stride and doesn't let it bother her. By giving her something to regret, I think she's more real. I hope this helps you understand why I wrote the chapter the way I did. Thanks for reviewing. Until next Thursday...

What a nightmare of a chapter. Harry gets kicked in the teeth constantly throughout. Ive been married over 25 years---if my wife's siblings decided that she was their respsonsibility and they knew her better than I did, I would be angry at all of them. Her brothers take over the search for her without really considering her husband should be involved. And then George steps up because he has a special relationship with Ginny--once again, that is going to make Harry feel like he is the outsider in the family--his wife is a Weasley not a Potter. Then Arthur takes Harry aside to point out how unhappy his wife is---and its his fault because he was injured. And let's remind you one more time that Ginny will always be a Weasley not a Potter. I realize that you have tried to show Arthur as well meaning and they certainly have a long standing relationship that may survive this interaction--and he's more of a father to Harry than is customary for a father-in-law, but I would find that conversation devastating if it was me and my father-in-law.

Then, in Ginny's understandable discussion of her issues, she tells George that she had considered telling Harry that she was leaving him to take up with one of the other wizards who have been pursuing her. Wow. I can understand her wondering about their future but to tell George that she had reached the point of telling Harry makes me wonder about her. Its normal to wonder under that stress about how their marriage is going to be, and if they can be happy again. But to be at the point of telling Harry that she was going to abandon him is the one really discordant note in an otherwise outstanding chapter for me. I'm pretty sure that the point you were making was that Ginny wasn't really serious about it but her reaching the point of wanting to tell Harry she wanted to leave him is very different from wanting to talk to Harry about what their marriage would be going forward. Would she really abandon Harry even in her thoughts. I presume that there is some "in sickness or in health" in their wedding vows and she would accept that burden even if she thinks she is going to be unable to be happy again.

My comments above about how painful the whole scene would be for Harry being told that he's not his wife's closest relationship is meant to point out how well done I find the chapter--not to criticize it.

Thanks again.

Author's Response: I'm glad you think I've done well with this chapter. I knew it would be controversial when I posted it, but after several long talks with my friend who is terminally ill, we decided that the chapter would be more realistic if Ginny did admit to thinking these things and was so bothered by them that they were making her crazy, even though she wanted to stop thinking about them. I must admit that there have been times in my life when I've thought about ideas I was ashamed of more than I should have. It's a vicious cycle and one that's hard to break. As for Ginny's brothers, they don't mean to leave Harry out or make him feel like an outsider and neither does Arthur. Unfortunately, Harry's limited mobility makes it very hard for him to join in the search: it's already been proven that he can't negotiate the flights of stairs leading to the upper floors of The Burrow and because of the snow he'd need someone to go with him to clear a path. There will be more of Harry's point of view in the next chapter. I can hardly wait to see what you think of that! Until next week...

I found it very sad. I can see everything happening, but find it heartbreaking that Ginny would consider a life without Harry. I hope they get to spend some quality time together soon.

Author's Response: Things like this happen all the time in real life. However, the silver lining to Ginny's cloud of misery is that she realizes that she would never be happy with a man other than Harry. She's ashamed of even thinking about leaving her husband which is one of the things she has worried would slip out sometime and ruin everything. Also, since this is fan fiction, you know that within a chapter or two Harry and Ginny will get the time they need together. Thanks for reading and reviewing. Until next Thursday...
