These people are so horrific. I hope Scorpius will be rescued before too much damage is done.

Author's Response: The Matron is a twisted, bitter and unbalanced individual who let the desire for revenge take over practical thinking. Scorpius' kidnapping is meant to teach Draco a lesson for talking to Harry about what he's seen.

Oh poor, poor scorpius, what on earth are they going to do to him?

Author's Response: Right now, all I can answer is that they're going to hold him as punishment for Draco because he gave the Aurors the location of the Matron's second hide-out.

Rivited.. Keep it coming.

Author's Response: I certainly will keep the chapters coming. I want to know how this story ends just as much as you do! Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Poor Scorpius.

Author's Response: Indeed. Poor kid's caught in the middle between his father's wish to do the right thing and the Matron's desire to remove all obstacles from her path to the discredit of Healer Stilwell. Thanks for reading.

oh no! poor Scorpius! It is amazing how real this story feels, in every aspect. I could feel Scorpius' despair and panic. Excellent story telling! And thanks for the weekly updates - just another one of the things that makes this story so great.

Author's Response: Knowing that what I've written about how scared and sad Scorpius is in this chapter has resonated with you is really encouraging. I appreciate knowing that what I'm writing feels real. Thanks for reading. I hope you'll continue to review my story. Until next Thursday...

Poor Scorpius! The glimpse into Draco and Asteria's life is rather interesting.

Author's Response: There will be more glimpses of the Malfoy's way of life in future chapters as the various characters interact and wait for news of Scorpius' fate. Thanks for reading and commenting. See you next Thursday...

Oh, my! Things look rather grim at the moment. It's nice to see that Draco and Astoria are at least gaining sympathy. It sounds like they certainly deserve it. Very tense sense for the chapter. Well done.

Author's Response: Draco tried to do the right thing by helping the Aurors and unknowingly put himself and his family in danger. I think any parent whose child is kidnapped deserves sympathy, no matter who they are, and I think most of my readers--including you--are agreeing with me. The tension will keep mounting as the various characters wait for news of Scorpius. Thanks for reading. See you next week...

Poor Scorpius. I hope he doesn't get experimented on by the Matron. I can't believe it's been about 24-25 week since I've been reading this story. I've forgotten if you released two chapters in the very beginning. KUTGW!

Author's Response: It's been twenty-five weeks since I started posting this story and I think you've been reading along that long. Thank you so much! As for Scorpius, you'll just have to keep reading each week to find out what happens to him and his parents. Thanks so much for the twenty-five reviews, too. I really appreciate them.

Oh dear Merlin! ;You do know how to break hearts! Excellent.

Author's Response: The more I think about it, breaking hearts is just a hair better than breaking bodies: you can get over a broken heart, but a broken body is permanent. Thanks for reading. See you next Thursday...

The time line was not hard to follow at all - as a matter of fact I think you did a very skill ful job of it. Thanks for the update! I can't wait for the next chapter. PS I am having a hard time with the kinder gentler Draco - but I'll adapt.;)

Author's Response: I'll address Draco first. Twenty years is a long time and things can happen along the way that sometimes force a person to stop and take stock of his or her situation. This has happened to Draco. What I mean is, as much as he's a product of Lucius' and Narcissa's upbringing, he was old enough when Voldemort made things difficult for his family to decide that he didn't want the same life as his parents. He's also paid the price for some of his impetuous decisions made during his Hogwarts years; house arrest isn't fun, nor is watching your parent slip away into madness and finally death due to the punishment levelled in the name of justice. Finally, unlike Lucius, Draco has had to work for the money he needs to maintain Malfoy Manor and make his family comfortable. These are the things shaping Draco now and I hope this explanation helps you reconcile your concept of Draco at the end of DH with the more mature adult he's become. I'm glad the jumbled time line wasn't hard to follow. I must admit that I actually started one of the segments with "meanwhile, back at the ranch..." before I realized how ridiculous that sounded in a Harry Potter story! Thanks for reading. The next installment will appear next Thursday.

I have not got a clue how you are going to get Scorpius out of this mess. At the moment it seems as if the Matron has the upper hand.

Author's Response: Let's just say that the Aurors are eventually going to get the upper hand and relegate the Matron to Azkaban prison when I do. Keep reading each update. I think you'll like what I have planned. Thanks for the review.

Author's Response: Just so you know, the Matron's days of having the upper hand are limited. Next chapter is out next Thursday. Thanks for reading.

An unfortunate, but not unexpected, turn of events. It almost makes you wonder if Draco is right, and Karma's a bitch.

Author's Response: I have no doubt that at this point in time Draco feels exactly that way. He's tried so hard to do the right thing and now he's been accosted, his business burnt and his son kidnapped. However, when he gave Harry the address of the Matron's warehouse, he knew there were risks to see justic done. When all is said and done, hopefully his family will still be intact and the Wizarding world free from another menace. Thanks for your comments and I'll look for your review next Thursday. Until then...

WHAT? This story just gets angstier and scarier! I really like Scorpius and I hope he is okay! What a dramatic chapter! I can't wait for more!

Author's Response: Let me ask you this... would the story be any scarier or angstier if Ron had actually carried out his plan to become the Matron's next victim? If Harry had learned of this mission, I think he would have objected to it vociferously and tried to prevent Ron from going through with it. At least this way there's a link to original canon through Scorpius' kidnapping. I'm glad you're anticipating next week's chapter. See you next Thursday...

Yay! Another investigation chapter! These are definitely becoming my favorites. Good job. It was extremely interesting to read. I like that there's some Draco in your book as well. The poor man, and his poor son. I like the way you brought in the old methods from the war of kidnapping children. It's terrible, but it brings a taste of the old fear into this generation. A nice tie to the original series.

Author's Response: I'm so glad you're looking forward to more of the investigation. Until the Aurors actually have the Matron and her gang behind bars, there will be segments in future chapters having to do with the investigation. There are also frequent sojourns to Malfoy Manor to see how Draco and Asteria are coping, so I think you'll enjoy the next few chapters. Also, thanks for being the first to recognize the link to canon. I think it's important for the children of Harry, Ron, Ginny and Hermione's generation to learn what their parents fought so hard against--even if it is a bit scary. I enjoyed your review very much. Until next Thursday...
