Glad to see that Harry and Ginny are with Draco and Astoria at this time. The fear they must feel is incomprehensible as they wait for news of their son.

Author's Response: Draco and Asteria have lived quietly, relying only on each other for support, because of what he did during the war. Ginny and Harry realize this and understand that the Malfoys won't ask for help, since they don't expect to get any. Therefore, the Potters are willing to freely give the Malfoys the support they need to endure this horrible time. It's not quite Harry's "saving people thing," but its very close and I think Draco and Asteria are grateful for it.

I just can't imagine what it must be like to be left sitting at home waiting for news, feeling goodness knows what emotions

Author's Response: If you've ever sat in a hospital waiting area while a loved one is in surgery or the emergency room, you'll know what it feels like: tons of worry and complete emotional drainage. That's why Harry and Ginny went to be with the Malfoys... to help them get through this terrible time.

Great chapter, keep on writing

Author's Response: Glad you liked it. And I certainly will.

It warms my heart to see Harry running off with Ginny to lend his support to Draco and Astoria. I really feel for Draco having to live in a house with so many bad memories. Too bad he can't just tear it down and rebuild, or gut the place and start over. Loved the comment about justifying the wheelchair to the portrait. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Author's Response: If he'd had the monetary resources, I think Draco would have razed the house at Malfoy Manor, completely torn it down and rebuilt, perhaps not on such a grand scale, but on one still befitting a very old, pure-blood Wizarding family. Unfortunately, Lucius squandered the family fortune on Voldemort and the other Death Eaters and what wasn't spent on them was taken by the Ministry as reparations for the second war. As for Harry and Ginny, those two are a well-spring of compassion and no matter what their house history was at Hogwarts, as parents they know they would be surrounded by family and friends if one of their children was taken. Draco and Asteria have very few friends and I don't think any of them would deign to set foot on the grounds of Malfoy Manor. Somewhere deep down, Harry instinctively knows this: that's why he wanted to offer his support to Draco and Asteria. By the way, you're the only one so far to comment on the wheelchair reference. I'm glad you did. Thanks for writing to me. See you Thursday...

As much as I dislike Draco as a character, you've done a good job with him. I can see him being a completely different father to Scorpius than his father was to him. No parent or anybody should have to go through what he is going through. KUTGW!

Author's Response: I've told another reader that I'm beginning to see the adult Draco as a completely new character, the more I write him. He's so different from what he was at Hogwarts, mostly because of his post-war experiences of being shunned by the pure-blood community, his house arrest and the loss of his family fortune. He's also made the effort to be the loving, caring father to Scorpius that Lucius never was. I hope this helps you accept the Draco in this story and I'm glad you think I've done a good job with his character. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. See you next Thursday...

I'm so excited it's Thursday! I wait every week for you to update. :)

I really enjoyed this chapter. I like when we get more insight into Draco, and I love how quickly Harry and Ginny were there for the Malfoys. I see their relationships growing much closer after this. The epilogue in book seven left things to seem tense still, and while a better friendship clearly emerged from that point to where you began this story, I see an even greater one emerging now. Love it.

And I'm waiting on pins and needles to see what happens with poor Scorpio! AHHHH!!! Another week! lol

Author's Response: It makes my heart do flipflops to know you anticipate my Thursday updates. I'll let you know right now that the next chapter covers quite a few of the characters with your anticipated update on Scorpius. You're right about JKR indicating that relations between Harry and Draco were strained still the year Albus and Scorpius went to Hogwarts, but in reality their friendship was a lot warmer than reported because of how Harry made the effort to accept Draco and be his friend when no one else would. You're right about the four becoming much better friends now that they're sharing the tense waiting period. No matter what the outcome of the kidnapping, I think Draco and Asteria will realize that the Potters are their friends for life. Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts with me. Until next Thursday...

Harry is a really good friend. It is very nice to see how much both he and Ron have matured and want to help Draco. I actually feel bad for him - he really is a prisoner in his own home.

Author's Response: Time and circumstances can do much for changing one's outlook on things and this has happened first to Harry and now Ron. I think that if times had been different when Draco, Ron and Harry had been at Hogwarts they might have been friends... or at least tolerated each other. And yes, because of what happened during and after the war, Draco is definitely a prisoner in his own home. Thanks for reading.

Excellent chapter! I felt so bad for Draco and Asteria alone in that spooky old house after such horrible news. So great of Harry and Ginny to go be with them. Very glad to see Harry not let his condition hold him back, thought it was great he didn't think twice, just went. And the flying van? Loved it.

Author's Response: A non-flying van? How pedestrian! Ginny wouldn't be Arthur's daughter if she didn't allow him and her brother George to help her enchant it. As for Harry, now that he's mastered the basics for caring for himself after his accident, he's listened to Silvia's mantra about not letting his disablilty limit him and getting on with his life. He has the desire to go back to work, even though he hasn't been released from The Groves, so when he perceives the Malfoy's need for support, his instinct kicks in like you said. I'm glad you liked the chapter. Thanks for reading and reviewing. Until next Thursday...

A very compelling storyline that you are to be commended for.

I do have to pretend Malfoy is an original character but other than that everything flows very nicely.

Author's Response: In a way, the Draco Malfoy I've created for this story is an original character because his attitude and acceptance of Harry as a friend and ally are so different from what he is in canon. I've told other reviewers that my Draco is this way because of how he spent the years after the war: his family was disgraced, his father died in Azkaban, he and Narcissa were under house arrest. I don't think the years following the war were kind to him and that can change a person. I think his saving grace was finding and marrying Asteria after going to work for Mr Greengrass. Otherwise, I think Draco would have been a very bitter man after what he experienced under Voldemort and his father. I'm glad you're enjoying the story. I hope to see another review from you soon. Until next Thursday...

Great chapter! I like that Harry and Ginny thought of Draco and Asteria. I love the little comment about Ginny preferring Firewhiskey to rum :P I hope they find Scorpius soon! I can't wait for more!

Author's Response: The Aurors are doing their best with what little information they have: Ron's not going to leave a stone unturned until he gets to the bottom of this and arrests the Matron and her followers. I'm glad you liked that Harry and Ginny wanted to support Draco and Asteria. Ginny has never struck me as the red current rum sort... I think it's her time with the Harpies that's influencing that opinion. Thanks for reading. Until next Thursday...
