Fascinating bit of magic performed by the students and professors to out Umbridge. The conversation between Minerva and Dumbledore at the end was certainly very disturbing. Looking forward to reading more about that situation.

There's nothing DD is hiding that we don't already know from canon. Remember, Harry knows little of the past, ctainly nothing of his headmaster.

I will be interested in seeing how you explain and/or explore the many different issues your premise seems to create---how does a tradition based society deal with late arrivals (Weasleys) or outsiders (Hermione) --can they ever join the circle? If not, isn't there a legitimacy issue. And is there some level of compulsion to good conduct beyond shaming which could be an ally for Harry--and who is the real traditionalist in Harry's conflict with Riddle? Are they both going to be promoting exclusion of outsiders but one with good intentions and nobless oblige and one who is evil? And what happens to people who have good intentions but cut some corners (Albus?).
I am sure there are many more issues that could be out there but I look forward to seeing how you deal with the ones you find interesting. Thanks again.
Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed it. I find ritual fascinating, and study it a great deal on my own. Because it's something I know, it often shows in my writing.
As for your question, I'll be honest, some of your concerns will be addressed, some won't. With the restriction of stories being under 20,000 words, and already being halfway there, some issues simply will not be taken into consideration. If there is a sequel, and I am not certain there will be, those issues will be probed there.
Harry will, however, get a wake up call in the next chapter. Things aren't as Black and White as he seems to think.
