I just found out about this story yesterday and had to binge read. I absolutely love this story! It is well thought out and well written. I love the plot, it is original and intriguing. I am so glad that you have not abandoned it despite the writers block. Thank you for that. I just can't say it enough how much i enjoyed reading this story, that award you won is very much deserved. I hope you update soon! so I can find the why and how of harry's memory loss. Much love!!

I can't imagine what it must be like to have no memories, the frustration and obsessive thoughts must be all consuming.

I'm not sure after reading only one chapter, but I have this fear that Samantha will somehow turn out like the Sharon Stone character in Total Recall. She's a plant to keep him quiet and in place. It was a convinient coincidence that he ran into her while leaving the hospital. I guess we'll see.
Nice start and a compelling premise.
Author's Response: hahaha funnily enough, I have NEVER watched or read Lord of the Rings OR Total Recall, so I wouldn't rely on these plots to figure out where I'm going lol. Thanks for reading and the review :)

Poor Harry! This is a great introductory chapter explaining why he is the way he is, who his love interest is, what they do together, and how his feelings of loss get in the way of their true relationship. It also makes me wonder if he has been Obliviated, whacked on the head and left for dead. The other thing I'm wondering is whether, someplace in his apartment, he has a secret stash containing his wand, for it seems he's taken up life as a Muggle rather than join the American Wizarding community. So... hoping for answers, I'm off to read the second chapter.

Wow! What a start. I am assuming someone memory charmed him. It also sounds like they built a whole life for him. How fortuitous to have all those documents in his wallet. Interesting to think that even though he is a writer for a prominent newspaper, no one yet has found him or noticed him. Looking forward to the next instalment.
Author's Response: Thank you!!! I debated for a while on what to have Harry do in the muggle world. I settled on journalist, because I liked the idea that Harry was writing/creating/exploring the world around him. There's something psychologically deep about writing being methodical for the mind. Sports journalist was a safe choice because although he's got a by-line and people might recognize his name, a by-line in a sports column generally doesn't have the kind of celebrity presence that would draw attention. And for the most part, the wizarding world doesn't use the Internet-- but maybe if they did, they might have found him...

Your intro from Harry's perspective pulls the reader in immediately. I was hooked right away. Interesting as well is how someone has gone to a lot of trouble to get Harry away from England. It seems he was transplanted, literally, with all the I.D. he'd need to not raise any questions by the authorities. You've captured his frustration at not being able to recall anything of his past. His memories were just on the other side of a brick wall which I thought was an interesting phrase to use. Could someone have used a memory block on Harry leaving him with only enough of the past to ask, "Did we win?"
A most promising first chapter. I look forward to more.
Author's Response: Thank you! This isn't the type of story I usually tackle, but I'm enjoying it so far... Psychology and neurology are fascinating subjects. I'm sort of toying with the idea that memory charms are as fickle as amnesia can be. I wanted to show that in a semi-conscious state with a severe concussion, Harry could momentarily and deliriously revert back to his past self. Thanks again for your review! harry is screwed up but i think sam is good for him right now.....as for how to fix the problem some times sam is right and let it be and it will come.....kutgw

Oooh, intriguing start! Can't wait to see why Harry was found in New York, with an ID and house keys! My first thought was that somebody planned it all and planted him there with a fake identity to keep him there! But then why would they give him his real name?
Can't wait for more! How many chapters do you envision when it's all said and done?
Author's Response: thanks :) I've always wanted to do an "amnesia" type story, and I'm glad that I've finally come up with a storyline. I like the idea that while Harry's appearance in New York for a specific reason, I like that Harry's biggest enemy right now is his own mind. Well, I've written about 6 chapters so far, but I don't want to make any promises on a number.
