The conversation between Harry and Ginny was good, and highlights how complicated this entire situation is. I am eager to read the next chapter.

Interesting chapter....interesting reviews...honestly I am somewhere in the middle, I don't hate Harry yet, but I can't say I like him much. As a parent I understand why James is his top priority, as a woman I am appalled at Harry's attitude towards Ginny.

She's a living breathing person who is more than just a mother...and has been hurt very deeply. It's sad that no one really feels for her and even some of your readers are quick to forgive Harry for all his callousness. However, that's a common thing in the fanfic world, Harry can be an ass to Ginny and still gets a lot of 'aww poor Harry, he's been through so much...'

In this case, yes he has been through a lot, and his confusion, frustration, and perhaps some amount of selfishness is justified. But does that make it okay for him to treat Ginny as someone to be manipulated to make sure he gets what he wants...I don't think so.

There did seem to be some progress at the end of the chapter and I am looking forward to reading Harry's interaction with little James. About, Harry and Ginny...they have to be together, as its SIYE:) But, I am not sure how I feel about this Harry with Ginny. Going by what I have read about him so far, I really think Ginny deserves someone who treats her with a lot more respect and sensitivity...and someone who wants to know her as Ginny and not just James' mother.

Woah, woah, woah, the scathing reviews I'm seeing, I don't understand them!

Personally, I like your story a whole lot! :) Is Harry annoying, maybe a little, but I thought he was more annoying in the last chapter. I think people are so upset because you mentioned divorce between their favourite couple. But in Harry's position, and given that he doesn't know Ginny, and at that moment thought that she hated him, anyone would be thinking that divorce might be a possibility. What the other reviewers have failed to see were the undertones of budding, deep meaning feelings between Harry and Ginny at the end of this chapter. It's subtle, as it should be. There are a lot of things that have gone on between these two that are truly terrible, and rebuilding trust is a long, treacherous road. We're still at the beginning of this story, I don't know why people are expecting Harry not to be moody and irritating...I mean even in his canon characterisation he's kind of a brooding prat after something traumatic happens (See OOTP). What we all love about Harry Potter is that despite the magical world the characters live in, they are still human beings that make mistakes, and feel love and pain. That's what you're showcasing here, and I think you're doing a pretty bang up job. Harry lived a life for four years with only himself to worry about, so yeah he's probably a lot more selfish than the Harry we know and love, who grew up with the fate of everyone in the Wizarding World on his shoulders.

I'm glad that you had Harry tell Sam what was going on, I feel sorry for her. But I hope that she doesn't get mean and either disappears without much of a tantrum, or thinks about what Harry is going through and tries to support him a little better. But we all know it's a doomed road for their relationship, I mean come one everyone knows where Harry's heart truly lies! ;)

Keep up the good work and don't get discouraged! I'm so excited to meet James and see if the St Mungo's trip sheds some light on the mystery of Harry's memory loss.

Well, you have achieved the unachievable... I officially hate Harry. He is self-centered, lacks any type of empathy or integrity, and is a manipulative prick. Let him have his divorce and go back to New York and his precious Sam - without James (he doesn't deserve him if he's willing to be so callous about Ginny). Ginny deserves a hell of a lot better and doesnt deserve more maltreatment at his hands. I have no doubt Sam is on her way to stake her claim and place the final stake through Ginny's heart. Do Ginny and us a favor - make BOTH Harry and Sam go away and end this already.

Good luck with the rest of your story - you are a good writer, and I know getting reviews from people who hate your characters is probably difficult. I also realise that good stories have to have conflict and some contoversy; however, this Harry is beyond unlikeable.

PS - Why is it that in every Harry-Screws-Ginny-Over story, Ron, Hermione and the rest of the Weasley's forgive him without batting an eye and Ginny always gets made out to be a Beach?

I find Harry's feelings to be very realistic. He's confused, he's tired, he's frustrated. He feels connected to Sam. He knows he loves her, even if they've been having problems. That's something he KNOWS, he REMEMBERS. Having someone come up to you and make the announcement that you are married - he really can't remember her. He remembers his dream - there is a slight pull there, but his memories, his reality, has been Sam - as pretty much his whole family - for the only time frame he can relate to. I can see why his child would be his main focus, and he would be willing to do whatever it takes to make sure he can have a relationship with him - even if he is talking about how to manage Ginny so that can happen. James is his main goal right now. As a mother, my kids would always be my first priority. Doesn't mean I don't love my husband . . . Anyway, I didn't find him annoying - I felt a great deal of sympathy for him - I can't imagine what it would feel like to have your entire life fall apart (again)...

Harry's behavior would make sense if whatever spell was used on him stripped him off his empathy, sensitivity, selflessness, integrity and everything else that made him Harry.

I would cut him slack on all counts...his life has been turned upside down, he has discovered he has a wife and a son, etc, etc, but that doesn't justify his attitude towards Ginny, who seems to have handled the situation far better.

Honestly, I cringed every time his inner musings turned to Ginny. It's not just his world that has crumbled, hers has been crumbling for years, and yet all he can think about is his himself and his son. Of course, not to forget his love for Sam and how he's so sure that whatever he had with his wife is worth throwing away, because he now has Sam.

To me it makes Harry seem pretty much like the cheating husband who couldn't care less about making an effort to give his marriage a chance because someone else seemed like an easier, or more comfortable option.

I am sure you have a plan and you'll have answers, but I am not sure I am going to have much love for Harry left by the time we reach the 'happy ending'.

A lower star rating for making Harry so annoying. Sorry, I couldn't help it. Even if, I take your point about Harry feeling no emotional pull towards Ginny, but why does he feel so attached to Ron and Hermione so soon after meeting them?

The most appalling thing, however, is how he thinks of Ginny as just a means to end---getting to know his son. It's as if she's not even a real person...

Memory loss and I all understand, but I don't get why is he so callous towards Ginny, every thought is about how to 'manage' Ginny so that she doesn't mess with his plans for building a relationship with James?

He may not feel an emotional connection with her yet, but he does know she was his wife and a women he must have loved. He doesn't think he owes it to her and his family to be more sensitive and perhaps be more open minded to the chance he may discover his love for her again? Or maybe he's so in love with Sam no despite what you wrote in the first few chapters, that his wife doesn't really matter now.

Finally, I don't think there was any evidence in the book to suggest that Hermione's parents felt no natural pull towards her when they met her or saw her again.

Sam is... annoying. I have no other word for it. Her feelings are understandable, but she tends to be selfish. I have a feeling old Harry would have had a hard time putting up with her shit.

Is Harry the least bit worried that he might fall in love with his wife again? He seems sooo certain that he's so in love with Sam that whatever he had with Ginny pales in comparison (Phfft. Yeah, right).
