Touch of lust spell, obsession with living in a fairy tale, desperation to have harry potter, and live happily ever after, non of this ring true to the canon characterization of ginny. I am not recognizing this person you call ginny weasley. I'll keep ready and hope to see ginny becoming more true to herself.

Author's Response: I have been criticized for Ginny before. Some people think I have her too nice, and some not nice enough. Some complain because she is too fragile at the start of the story. I try to portray everybody as being rather strung out and fragile at the start of the story. Ginny develops into a very gutsy and determined person, not in awe of Harry but fully capable of living in a marriage of equals. You can’t be timid and play Quidditch, or do what she apparently did during her year at Hogwarts. I have listened to reviews, and I try to show Ginny not as desperate for Harry but determined to land him. Please let me know if you think I am getting her right, or if I am still off track. I really appreciate the review. I would much rather have a reasoned criticism than no review. Jet

Goodness me. You really tackled a lot of issues after the battle. How very imaginative.

Author's Response: Thank you for your review. Reviews make it worthwhile to contribute to a site. I answer every one, and enjoy dialogue with readers. Some stories have Harry and Ginny on a long vacation right after the battle. I don’t think that is at all realistic. Young readers may look at the world and think that after horrible things happened things get better right away. It’s almost never that easy. I have met people from the Netherlands who came to Holland, MI after WW II because of how hard it was to live, eat, get anything. We look at Europe today and forget how many years it took for Europe to recover, and how hard the first years were. Keep reviewing. Let me know what works for you, and what doesn’t. Jet

I'm not sure I like this Touch of Lust spell. That just sounds wrong. Like she's manipulating him. Arthur's behaviour seems a little contradictory. He's been told that Harry and Ginny need to be together and even marry, yet he seems determined to keep them apart - at least somewhat. I suppose he's just being a father.

Author's Response: Of course the Touch-of-Lust is a problem! In my ‘head canon’ it has been responsible for generations of women getting pregnant before they got married, including Molly and her grandmother but not her mother. I think some magical spells and objects have a will of their own, and resist being gotten rid of. I think the Elder Wand is like that, put in Dumbledor’s hand to be found later by someone, not just destroyed. I think the spell is like that as well. Let’s see what happens with Lilly Luna. Harry does not mind; he really wants Ginny and only Ginny. Is Ginny a little immature; no, she’s probably quite immature in some ways, although her heart in in the right place. Yes, Arthur has contradictory behavior because he has contradictory things he has to do. He’s a father with a sixteen year old daughter, and a high ministry official who is painfully aware that the ministry is desperately short of money and Ginny marrying Harry is one way to make sure he gets paid! No one said the aftermath of the war would be easy. JetLaBarge

I've not read many fics that go into the after battle in as much detail as this, and I'm really enjoying it. There seems a uniqueness to your story and as you've already noted in a previous comment, there are a lot of "after the battle" fics out there, it is no mean feat what you have managed. Kutgw:)

Author's Response: Thank you for the review! Harry’s exhausted, Ginny’s frantic, Arthur and Percy are working overtime helping to get the ministry just functioning, and Bill has no idea what he’s gotten himself into. Hogwarts is a mess. George is a mess, and Molly doesn’t even have time to grieve Fred she’s so busy with everything else. I think that’s a lot more realistic than “and the innocent were released from Hogwarts and everything was perfect again la la la.” I hope the rest of the story works for you too. JetLaBarge
