Spectacular chapter. Absolutely fantastic. Love the new ideas you've built on, but especially fond of the connection between Molly and Harry. Great writing.

Author's Response: This was one of my favorite chapters to write. Molly's story was meant to illustrate why she has always just regarded Harry as one of her own. If you look at some of the other reviews, it was quite well accepted, which of course pleased me greatly! Thank you, and happy reading!!

Oh, Old Evil Heart plans to get a new wand. I am curious to see what he's up to with it. Does he simply want to replace the brother wand of Harry's? Or is there something more behind his doing? We will see…

I am glad that the two of them have talked things over. Apparently Harry was able to talk Ginny into his rules of doing it the right way. However, things have been rather vague. What exactly are the right reasons? I have the feeling that Harry leaves it to Tom to dictate his private life... This is the first step to lose against him. I wonder if Harry has talked to Ginny about his Bonding questions.

I think Harry's decision to immediately renew the wards is right. It's good that he questioned Dumbledore's advice. The contents of the second lock box is very mysterious. I guess that we will learn a few interesting things in the next couple of chapters. Hermione as a relative of Harry is perhaps the biggest surprise. Of course, besides Tonks as secret keeper. However, they are good surprises. I wonder what the younger Dumbledore card will have up his sleeves.
The "How I met Harry" stories have been wonderful, the icing certainly was Molly's tale. It was absolutely eye-watering. I love the whole idea.

Please excuse my rant regarding the relationship of our favourite couple. I must admit that I'm often a bit quirky when it comes to Ginny. Especially when I think that Harry acts a bit strange. And yes, although it's been a long time ago, my kids also have been 16 and 17. And, unbelievably, even I was once at that age. I know what I'm talking about. However, I believe that neither manufactured limits nor rushing things are a good decision.

Many thanks for another brilliant chapter!

Author's Response: I realize that Harry's restraint is unusual within the world and culture of today, but remember that Rowling herself bases the wizard world on a nineteenth century model. Harry is an unusually considerate boy and he genuinely wants to make sure his actions are acceptable to everyone. There is no question that he loves and desires Ginny, and rushing toward self satisfaction might be a normal youthful reaction, but it is not Harry. (In my opinion.) What is the harm in asking Ginny to be patient if she feels she is ready for more intimate contact? It could be argued that Harry's actions are forcing Ginny's behavior, but there is an huge difference between forcing a person into inaction, and forcing them in to unwanted sexual contact.
I am glad to seem to like the story and I do hope you continue to read it in-spite of the length of time it is taking me to write it. Thanks for the reading and the review.

Voldemort is rather gruesome. I never really pictured him as being interested in sex - it seems like he would feel it was beneath him or something. I liked the strengthening of the wards and it makes sense that it would need to be done. I'm not surprised that the Weasleys and Potters are related in some way, it's been stated several times that all Purebloods are related somehow. I'm very surprised that as security conscious as Harry is that he would allow Alex to be at the warding. I like choosing Tonks as the Secret Keeper, but what's the point of having a Secret Keeper if you announce to everyone who it is?
I thought the story of Harry and Ginny bonding as babies very sweet and heartwarming. Its as though they started bonding as babies. That being said Molly's story is completely unbelievable to me. She nursed him as an infant, but never asked about him in the intervening years and never mentioned it in all the years of knowing him? That didn't ring true at all - to decide to nurse another baby at your breast is a huge decision I can't see overbearing, overemotional Molly Weasley doing that and never mentioning it. Dumbledore is an a** if he wouldn't allow the baby's godfather to take him, but gives him to a total stranger and then dumps him on relatives who don't want him. Why wouldn't he just allow Sirius to take him? Just seems like more of Dumbledore playing God and messing with peoples lives. Sorry for the little rant - I liked Harry and Ginny, didn't like the rest of it.

Author's Response: Ranting is perfectly fine. You have strong opinions about theses characters and that is great, we all do.
To address your points. Voldy and sex... Well, I would say that he is not all that interested in sex, what he is interested in is power and domination, and imposing his will. Sex for him would be a way of accomplishing this.
Alex being at the warding... hmmm, I can see your point, she is a newcomer, but she has been set up as a trusted character and we will just have to see what her role is yet to be. Tonks as secret keeper... Part of the spell, as I tried to write it, erased from everyone's memory who the new secret keeper is. I guess I didn't really make that clear enough. I may have to revisit it for clarity if I can find a way to weave it in.
Molly's story... here we have to start by agreeing to disagree, as I do not see Molly as overbearing and overemotional, or at least not to the extent that I believe you do. (That being said, I have enjoyed your stories and your characterizations, very much, so I have a glimmer of understanding of how you wish to see the characters) There is seventeen years of time here, and I did say that Molly had discussed these events with Arthur. And it has certainly affected her relationship with Harry. The decision to nurse Harry under those circumstances I don't think is as big a deal as it would be in our modern age. Rowling's Wizarding world is set up largely around a nineteenth century sensibility, and the concept of acting as a wetnurse would not be so foreign.
As far as Dumbledore not giving Harry to Sirius, well, unfortunately as canon dictates, Sirius had his own altercation that very same night and it landed him (fairly or unfairly) in Azcaban, so he was not an available option. Perhaps Dumbledore would have taken this option had it been available to him, alas it was not. As I have accepted canon unchanged up to and including HBP, it was not available to me either. (I do thoroughly enjoy stories that explore those possibilities.)
Hopefully I have offered some clarity. Playing with these characters is the the whole point of fanfiction and they will therefore be interpreted in many and differing ways. One interpretation is not necessarily better than any other. Thank you so much for your reading and especially for your considered comments. I do enjoy everything that you have to say.

I am enjoying this AU so far. Very good on the technical aspects. Interesting take on the end of HBP. I usually don't like Draco redemption, but it looks like you are going to drag him through a little hell first and I am quite okay with that. The only thing that I am really worried about is the potential overpowering that Harry's inheritance could represent. However it looks like you've written a downside to it and I am curious to see what it is. At any rate, can't wait for the next update. Cheers!

Author's Response: Thank you for reading, and welcome. I do hope you will stay with it as I continue as fast as I can. You are correct about Draco going through a bit of hell. What Voldemort alone put him through already qualifies, and his journey is not over for a while. I am curious about your concerns that Harry inheritance might be overpowering. Do you mean that it is all simply a bit too much, or are you thinking that Harry himself is becoming too powerful? Wealth alone does come with a certain type of power, but it is certainly not yet made Harry a more powerful wizard in and of itself. I would be curious to know more of your thoughts. Thank you so much for your thoughts! And happy reading!

Excellent fic. Tons of original ideas. Great pacing. Good writing. Hard to put down. I read it all in the last 24 hours. Need another chapter!

Author's Response: Thank you for you support. I will have the next up as soon as I am able. I am afraid I have a rather busy agenda these days, but I am on it as much as I can be. Should be about a week I hope.

The opening scene with Voldemort made me shudder. He was already a disgusting human being, but you have taken him to new levels. So creepy and gross, and it left me feeling squeegee, for lack of a better word.
I really don't want Harry to open that lock box!

Molly's story of meeting Harry for the first time makes a lot of sense, and was so heartwarming. I'm currently reading the first book to my five-year-old son and am amazed at how my perspective of things has changed as an adult. I never thought about where Harry was that first day when everyone was celebrating Voldemort's 'demise' before Hagrid brought him to Privet Drive. As always, looking forward to more.

Author's Response: Thank you! Obviously the Voldemort scene is yielding the desired effect. I want to show just what a loathsome creature Mr, Riddle is. The guy thinks that he deserves anything he wants, and that includes the forced servitude of others, to his every desire. He is very twisted!

Why don't you want Harry to open the lock box? I understand that the prospect of a curse hovering over his head is perhaps an unhappy development, but if he doesn't investigate it, how can he hope to break it?

I am so glad you liked my explanation for what happened during the missing time. I saw it as an opportunity to build a greater bond between Harry, and Molly and further explanation of just why she loves him like one of her own.

As always thank you for reading and commenting!

What a great story from Molly! Like that Harry and Hermione are related somehow, hope to find out how later.

Thanks for sharing.

Author's Response: I am so glad you liked it. And yes, you will find out more later about how Hermione is related to Harry. There is no way Hermione could learn something like that and not investigate!

Thank you so much for reading and commenting!

The beginning of this chapter was a bit gruesome with the way old Voldie got the dragons heart. Fancy having to be one of his servants to have to clean him like he is some sort of 'god'...ewww.

I loved the whole renewing the wards around the manor and recapturing of Jarvy. Lovely.

I loved the stories of how each met Harry. Molly's, of course, was the best of all the stories. I can just imagine her in a cabin with the two babes and looking after them for the day, on her own. It would come as second nature to nurse Harry with Ginny with the way Molly is with her family.

I do enjoy reading this story and am looking forward to more.

Author's Response: Your reaction to old Moldyshorts in the beginning of the chapter is just as I would like it to be. Ewwww! is right! But, the guy is evil and believes he can do whatever he wants, plus he has this new body, and I expect him to use it. It wasn't meant to be pretty, it was meant to be repulsive, and I am glad it is.

Everything else that you say you loved, was also just as I hoped It was intended to be, as you say, "Lovely."
Thank you so much for your kind comments, and for just taking the time to read it all... I do hope you continue to enjoy it.

Sounds like they might have bonded as children then?:) No doubt we shall see if this is the case. Interesting chapter and few things to think about, like why was Hermione let to touch the stone? I think there is more to it then just family link.

Author's Response: You are absolutely right, there are a few mysteries imbedded here.

I hope you continue to read and enjoy, and of course comment... Thank you so much!

I need to tell you that I was a little disappointed that Harry and Ginny decided to "explore" each other at the end of the last chapter. I can truthfully tell you now that their decision to set limits on their explorations is welcome because, even though it is a reality, teenage pregnancy ruins too many lives.

So... on to this chapter. You write a very creepy Voldemort who seems even more insane than the one in the books! I'm all right with him entering the dragon's body to retrieve the heart himself, but to have his only little "harem" service him afterwards... I didn't need to know about that! Eeeewww!

The scenes at Potter Manor were much more to my liking. You had me giggling gleefully during Harry and Ginny's discussion at Hermione's door; Ron standing in the hall with them placidly eating his sandwich just put the icing on the cake. I think Harry made some very adult decisions regarding his property, which led to the ceremony-like strengthening of the enchantments, the renewing of the Fidelius Charm and the recapturing of Jarvy. I could tell he was a very contented elf at the end of that segment.

However, I think my favorite section of the chapter was the stories told at the end of Harry's party. I've always been fascinated by readers' theories of what went on during the lapsed time between Hagrid picking Harry up in Godric's Hollow and his delivery to the Dursleys. Molly's tale was very touching and quite believable, and I believe, one of my new favorite theories. It will be interesting to someday learn what the real sequence of events was for that night, if JKR would ever decide to divulge it.

Thanks for a very entertaining read.

Author's Response: It is okay, I think, to be a b it disappointed in them, after all they are still just kids. But, It was time to deal with what was going on in that regard. As a parent of a 16yo daughter myself, I am well aware of the realities that are out there.

Yes Voldy is a creepy guy. I am sorry that you were a bit repulsed, but I meant it to be just that, ewwww!!

That the rest of the chapter was to your liking is very gratifying, and I am glad that you noticed Harry making some adult type decisions.

Molly's story is one of my favorite personal theories as well, and I was looking forward to telling this litt;e story within a story, as I think it sheds some light on the way Molly relates to Harry in my story. I am so glad you liked it.

As always thank you so very much for reading and commenting!
