I'm upset that you've made me like this version of Draco... Very well-written and interesting story!

Author's Response: Sorry, not sorry! I'm happy to upset you a little it means that I am challenging your character perceptions and bringing you to a new a different place. I am eager to bring the story around to the point where Draco returns to forge a new social dynamic with the rest of the main characters. He is becoming the true wild card of the story. Thank you for your wonderful comments and your enjoyment of my story. Happy reading!!

I wonder how Malfoy would behave if he were moved back home to his old environment.
He thinks that the Dark Lord must be defeated. Would he join the fight? He was taught to wait until it is obvious which side will succeed before endanger himself and then join the winning side actively. He isn't stupid.

Author's Response: Well, perhaps then it is a good thing that he is not yet returned to his former environment. Our boy Draco still have some evolving to do before he returns to the ole' homestead.

Little Draco is finally growing up!

Author's Response: Yeah, he is definitely a late bloomer. Thanks for reading and commenting!

I am glad to see Draco coming to some realizations in his life. I always felt he was trapped by his family and station, especially in the latter books, and that he thought he had no choice but to do what his father and Lord Voldemort told him. That is how so many monsters are created, but perhaps Draco is being given a second chance.

The scene with Snape was troubling because I am assuming he is still really working for the Light side, but he just allowed over a dozen people be killed in cold blood. Surely, there could have been a better way, and I am disappointed in him. It will make it harder to forgive him if it does turn out he is still working for the good side.

While I do wish there were some H/G moments interspersed in these long Draco chapters, I think some of your other reviewers are being a bit harsh with their reviews. This was well-written and I hope to see Draco and Harry united as allies and maybe even, eventually as friends in the later chapters of this story.

Author's Response: Thank you for you kind words! Draco is indeed getting a second chance, it only remains t o be seen what he does with it.
I agree that the events surrounding Snape are troubling at the very least. He has to make some very harsh decisions to stay in the Dark Lord's good graces. I am not formally committing one way or the other on where his true loyalties lie just yet, but I think it is obvious that his service to Voldemort weighs very heavily upon him and makes him quite uncomfortable.
I understand the desire for more H/G moments, but the story formula thus far has limited the Draco chapters to the events of his story, interspersed with Snape and Voldy events. Perhaps later on the chapters will begin to intermingle a bit more.
Allies? Well, they will eventually be working toward a unified goal, but I am not sure that it will ever progress to true friendship... We shall see.
Thank you again for your continued reading and commenting!

I really enjoy how you are treating Draco.

Author's Response: Thank you, you seem to be part of quiet minority at the moment. We will see how it goes as things progress. Thanks for reading and commenting.

Draco's trials and tribulations are a lesson well learnt.
I can understand why Snape told Voldie about the note; to keep up the delusion of following him. But the carnage that happened from this was awful. Well written though.
Next chapter, please.

Author's Response: Draco has taken an important step, but he is not there yet. He still has a way to go. Yes, the carnage was awful. Voldy is an awful guy and Snape is a trapped player. Thank you so much for reading and commenting. Next chapter is well under way, and I have to tell you to expect a bit more darkness before this is all over. Hope you continue to enjoy. Thanks again!

While they are well written and well constructed, I cannot stand these draco chapters. I just don't care what happens to the character.

Author's Response: Thanks for the strong complement. I do hope you continue to let me know how you feel as the story continues. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Snape is awful - if you have to kill and torture people to maintain your cover is it really worth it? Draco realizes he's a spoiled rotten brat raised by another spoiled self centered monster. Still don't really think he's redeemable.

Author's Response: Snape is trapped... and yes the situation is awful, but he is faced with very few choices, as taking the high road at this point would surely get him killed, and he does not want to be dead. Draco has made some significant progress, but he is not redeemed yet. Thanks for reading and reviewing. Oh, and congrats to you!

This was good as a Draco chapter. I like where you are taking him and his character development is quite believable (amazing what being smacked with others perceptions of you can do ya?). I do hope you keep his current appearance, just for the inevitable "who the hell are you?" from Harry and Co when he shows up again in their plot thread. Also of interest was Snape. It felt like he was about to let them go until the son pulled his wand. So I don't know where his loyalties lie in this AU, curious to find out though.

To answer your question, you were right on the first bit, that the inheritance seems a bit much. I don't have much of a problem with the wealth as it was established quite early in the books that Harry would pretty much never need for money, so I was more referring to the mysterious artifact and the other "many magical objects and devices" that his grandparents left behind. Lots of potential fun toys there (just thought of what would happen if the Twins got a hold of some of them *shudder*), but also the potential for overpowering. Not to say there is any *bad* thing about overpowering, but only if it's written well :)

And now I have the image of Harry becoming the Wizarding equivalent of Tony Stark minus the attitude.

Anyway, cheers! Looking forward to the next chapter

Author's Response: Thank you for you kind words. I think that I will be keeping Draco's altered appearance, at the very least his new skin pigmentation will be permanent. I can't really think of any reason to change the longer hair... maybe the facial hair, we'll see. I do agree that there will have to be a "who the hell are you?" moment when he does inevitably come back in to the main story plot.
I like that you cannot tell where Snape's loyalties truly lie, he is rather trapped in his present situation, so self preservation may well mean having to make some very distasteful decisions.
Yes there are lots of magical objects and artifacts at the Manor, but I have no plans to load them all on to Harry and send him in to battle. He will grow a bit more magically powerful, but it will be through learning, not so much through magical tool use. I can certainly see the concern.
Tony Stark aye... hmmm. Yeah, maybe a magical suit of armor would be the way to go, with lots of gadgets! Nope... not in the plan, but I can see it.
Thanks as always for the read and the comments!
