I admit, I dreaded reading this story. It has been on my “READ” list for a while now but the subject....
Well....it is hard to read but knowing your history, harder for you to write.
I first came on SIYE 15 years ago. I had just heard my father had cancer and his time was limited. Reading HP books and fanfics were my means of escape. I also learned that reading stories containing loss and pain could really be cathartic. The first story I read dealing with death of losing a child and a partner was a wonderful story by hgfan1111 (Andi) whom has since removed all her brilliant stories though we kept contact. I found that reading that other share in pain can become somewhat healing.
Since those days, I have lost many more around me as happens when you grow older incl devastating personal loss. So starting this story and knowing what was to come....
but I did and gods, did I cry and ugly too. It brought back awful memories but also the good moments which have their own belongings as well..

That struck me the most. Feeling like your world has ended but around you....the sun still comes up. The sun still shines. Birds twitter. Nature moves on and so do the people around you. They smile, laugh. They live their lives like nothing is wrong at all. To be fair, to them, it isn’t. But to us, thos that have lost, theWorld is never the same again.
We grieve, we learn to live with the loss and give it a place in our hearts and wear a mask because lets face it, after a while, some people do not want to think about what you have lost. They do not really understand till they have love & lost.
So thank you for pouring your heart out. For sharing your grief and I hope, you have found some peace.

I've typed and deleted over and over but it just sounds twee and the bottom line is I have no idea what this truly feels like. I thank you for sharing as the experience of what I have read will stay with me, and although it something I hope I don't need to refer to again it will be something I would come back to if the need arose. Personal experience has unfortunately taught me that this is not an uncommon event and sadly I will probably come across this again. I hope and pray my 2 girls and immediate family don't ever have to experience this dreadful tragic loss.

I hope that Harry goes to Hermione and Ron and make the decision to bring the master death and interrogate all of all of Voldemorts followers that they think might have a had a hand in this. The most interesting thing that I not seen while reading fanfiction is the very few times that after the Hogwarts battle that Harry does not use the stone to learn from the great wizards. Why not now to learn so that you can show the world not to mess with him and his family. Awaiting more.
Author's Response: That would be one way, but in this case it wouldn't nab the bad guy.
I don't read much fanfiction at all, so I don't know what others are doing, but I thought for a moment about using the stone, and decided no, that he would leave it where it was. Harry saw that the dead really didn't belong in that world.

Another heart-wrenching chapter. I'm amazed at the strength it must take to move forward after such a terrible tragedy. My thanks for sharing this very personal story with us, its without a doubt one of the most powerful fanfics I have ever read.

It was very, very hard, but really cathartic too. It's a good kind of pain.

Really good cheater. A hard topic, but a common one.
I luckily have never had to feel that kind of pain, but my cousin and his wife have. They lost their first like the story, the second a premie but he is now a healthy 5 year old. Their third they lost whe he was 6 months old. He had his heart on the wrong side and other issues that needed surgery. My husbands friend lost his little girl at 4 months, she had complications from being born at 6 months. My step sister in law also lost her son when she went into labor at 20 weeks.
It makes me thank God constantly for my two beautiful little boys.
Even my mom lost her first born, a son shortly after he was born due to medical mistakes her first obgyn made. My dad said her sisters helped a lot to get them through it. They were expecting to come home with a baby boy so the room was already set. My aunts and uncles went and packed up everything so they wouldn't have to deal with extra reminders or the pain of doing it them selves. My mom said taking care of my cousin Ernie also helped. My aunt had lost her first a girl and Ernie was the second born like me. She said it helped that her sister had gone through the same pain.
The point is your not alone in this horrible pain. I'm glad you have loving and supportive husband, and hope to God the both of you don't go through this pain again. If writing helps you deal with the pain, than write. Your good at it and you shouldn't hold your pain in.

Author's Response: I've made a lot of connections with other people. It's difficult to find someone who has miscarried three times in a row, but I've found them and more. It's helped me not feel alone, even though I wish I was alone and no one else went through this kind of pain. Feeling the connection, though, didn't help me move on.
This story really is helping me take the next steps.
I'm so sorry for all the loss in your family. That's so, so hard!!

Author's Response: Many stories are based on real life, even if they are fiction. I've heard all my life "write what you know". Sadly, I know this.

Another beautifully written chapter. My heart just breaks for the whole situation. Harry was so looking forward to being a father. I can't even imagine what it must be like to go through this for real. Thank you again for sharing this wonderfully, heartbreaking story with us.

This has been an indescribable ride. The emotions of this story are indescribable, it's because of that, I truly don't know if I can read much more. I'm 40 yrs old, and I still remember quite clearly when my mom found out that my baby brother was born still born in 1978, I'm tearing up just typing this. This is in no reflection to how good your story is. I hope you continue to write for years.
Author's Response: I'm so sorry for your loss. I know I will still hurt in the decades to come. I saw my husband's grandmother still suffering when she was in her 70's. It just is. I'm glad and sorry that it's touched you so deeply. It's a pain no one should have to go through.
I promise the emotions will let up from here on out. It won't be this heavy, and there will be light and some very good moments too. I only do happy endings.

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it. It came out this way, not really planned out, which in some ways was better because I couldn't dwell on it enough to form a plan.
