This is generally a solid chapter, but I found that your very last paragraph didn't quite capture the intensity of Ginny's own personal history with Parselmouths and the Chamber. The simple-minded reader in me can't help but needlessly say, "Of course Ginny knew that Harry was innocent regarding the Chamber." The way you phrase it, though, it seemed almost as if Ginny is forgetting (or somehow in denial) about her own intimately personal role (under possession) as the nominal perpetrator.
I know you don't mean it that way, but I do think you could amplify the resonance of this exceptionally powerful moment with a bit of artful rephrasing of what's racing through Ginny's mind as Anna speaks to the snake.
Oh, and canonically, Parsel-anything is capitalised.

Author's Response: Excellent point about Salazar Slytherin! Surely many of his descendants were capable of understanding snakes, and at least some were hopefully not evil.

I liked the way Harry sympathised with Anna. However, I have the impression that Anna and Ginny try to avoid Harry as much as possible. Or is it the other way around?
Ah yes, the grandmas. I sincerely hope that Anna isn't plagued with dubious betrothal contracts in the near future.
Great chapter! It seems the showdown of PoA approaches in huge steps. However, I reckon that Anna and Ginny will not notice anything of it.
Author's Response: I'm glad you liked this chapter and you are quite correct that Anna and Ginny will be largely unaware of certain upcoming events. Having said that, the circle of friends that is Harry, Ron, and Hermione is widening more to include Anna, Ginny, and Neville. With those friendships building, more will be shared among them all. I love the end of this chapter! It cements my suspicions about Anna's lineage and the events of the prologue. While those thoughts give me the chills, Ginny's willingness to accept Anna's abilities shows just how much she's learned from her experience with the diary and the Chamber of Secrets.
I also really like how sensitive Harry was towards Anna when she came back to Gryffindor Tower. I think he would have patiently listened to anything she needed to say had she been willing to share her feelings with someone.
The bragging session between the two grandmothers is a great scene. I have a feeling those two were very competitive while they were at Hogwarts and it seems that their familial pride is just as competitive now. I'm glad Augusta has something to brag about.
All in all, this is a charming chapter which has sated my curiosity for now. Keep the chapters coming! Well done!
Author's Response: Thank you so much for this wonderful review! I'm glad that it seemed reasonable for Ginny to accept this revelation about Anna. Ginny's experiences during her first year, while horrible for her, did so much to shape her personality. She is an awesome friend! I agree with you that Harry would have been open to listening to Anna. He knows what it is like to be without parents and grandparents. The grandmothers' scene was fun to write. I pictured two elegant, wealthy older ladies talking and that section just wrote itself!
