Reviews For A Proper Epilogue

Okay, besides the obvious joy I took in seeing Ginny hex Malfoy - I have to give you props on how well you incorporate the Slytherins into the story. I always struggle wihen writing them in making them sound right, and you seem to do it effortlessly. I firmly believe Lucius should have to go back to Azkaban, if not for his DE status, than at least for the punishment he was serving before he excepted.. Well done, and I'm eager to see what happens next!

Author's Response: Thank you! I had so much fun writing Lucius and, to a lesser extent, Draco! Maybe it came easily to me because there is a stubborn streak of Slytherins hiding inside!

Interesting recapitulations in the eulogy; very canonical.

Also interested in the tone of moderation in Pansy's voice. Draco, I did expect to be on a path toward redemption, but I hadn't really thought much about Pansy's post-battle trajectory.

Sounds like you have the makings of some good character drama here!

Author's Response: Thank you! I hope it ends up making sense!

I'm impressed by the accuracy you're referring to the smallest details in the books. I'm afraid I've already forgotten a lot of details, or I confound them with things I've read in fanfiction. I wasn’t aware that Harry was such a great speaker, especially when it comes to emotions.

Ah yes, Malfoy. I doubt that he'll ever be able to carry out his father's mission. He's a far too big of a coward. As soon as it becomes unpleasant, he'll chicken out. I'm curious to see if Malfoy's sudden appearance behind Harry's back will be assessed as an attack. It will surely depend on Rita Skeeter's mood.

Great chapter! Thank you!

Author's Response: I can't tell you exactly how many hours I spent poring over the books and cheating by going into the HP Lexicon, but I wanted to get as much right as possible. Where canon is silent, I take some liberties, but if it is in the canon, I try to abide by it ... eventually! LOL! If you (or anyone else) finds an error, it is precisely that -- an error. I am not trying to override JKR. Truth be told, I would like to re-write DH, but it has already been done numerous times!

I really like that Draco seems to be thinking of resisting his father's plan in as least some way... He might end up going along, or even doing something else nefarious, but at least he seems to be thinking a bit for himself. He never really has been strong enough to go his own way though, so I don't hold out a lot of hope. I can't wait to see what happens when Draco and Pansy recover though. That was quite a welcome.

I do wonder what the stress of this "event" will do to poor Arthur and Molly.

Nice speech, by the way. Eulogizing Fred is tough. I give you mad props for not skipping over that part of the service.

Author's Response: Harry has seen more death than anyone his age should ever have to face. He has also had a glimppse into the next great adventure. Who better to deliver the homily than Harry Potter? Thank you so much for the review!

Yes, somehow he´s missing in my review :D

Author's Response: Well, his brain is missing as well. Take cfare and thank you for the consistent reviews. They really make it worth the effort of editing the story and crafting the entirely new sections. Hopefully the reviews will help me improve my writing skills, as well.

I have a question for you...how can Draco and Pansy be in two rooms at once when meeting with their fathers? The scene opens in the study, but ends with them walking out of the sitting room. I never thought the two rooms were attached at Malfoy Manor.

That said, I think Pansy and Draco have the measure of the situation far better than their fathers' wishful thinking. They seem quite surprised that Slughorn would be at the funeral, especially since the Weasley twins had left Hogwarts so spectacularly the year before he returned to the school. Then again, maybe he's decided to go because he's still part of the faculty and Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny were all his students? That's a plausible explanation, and maybe one that will help Draco and Pansy's reception by the Weasleys be a pleasanter one than if there was no Slytherin representation.

I love the ending to this chapter. While Harry's speech was touching and definitely from the heart, what made me smile the most was Kreacher's defense of his master and future mistress. I don't think Harry meant for Kreacher to have to "work" during the funeral, i.e. defend his master, but his actions certainly made his presence worthwhile.

Well done.

Author's Response: Oops! Of course the study and the sitting room were connected at Malfoy Manner! They are connected by a hole in the authot's empty head!

Someone kill please! He´s the only thing I don´t like in this story :D
Great speech. I am glad you gave Harry this role. I like it when he is doing this sort of things (unlike him).

Author's Response: I assume you want Lucius to depart this eart, or is one of the other characters making you annoyed?

Ah now if mr parkinson and malfoy had the balls to see what happen when they sent their first borns in to harms way, they may have MAY HAVE rethought there ideas...but they are stuck in the past and will not move...draco was wise to worry but he still has not llearn his lesson yet on how to move forward correctly.....kutgw

Author's Response: It's always easier for grown men to send children into conflict, isn't it?

Well the funeral certainly did not go according to anyone's plan. Interrupting the proceedings is not the way to attend a funeral service and try to start making amends. It will be interesting to see what happens to Draco and Pansy now, as well as how the horrid reporters react.

Author's Response: I apologize for not responding to this review in a more timely manner! Oops! No, the funeral was a cluster event ... at least the end of it. Sorry I did not show the reporters' reaction! That was probably an oversight and a sign of poor writing! Thank you so much for your review!

Oh dear! Brawling at a funeral.

Author's Response: Quite disturbing and, unfortunately, not as rare as one would hope in real life.

Ha. That ending certainly should have been no surprise to Draco and Pansy. Before they were so rudely interrupted Harry's eulogy was quite moving. I wonder what is going to be the aftermath of Malfoy ill conceived plot now?

Author's Response: Sorry I missed this review! Thank you for your thoughts and comments! As you know by now, the plot has played out, but if you haven't read that far, I'll keep quiet!

Very good chapter.
Loved how Kreacher defended his master and mistress.
Lucius has a gawl to insist that Draco and Pansy attended the funeral, in the first place.
Looking forward to the next update.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I greatly appreciate your reviews. And, yes, Lucius can be infuriating.
