A story to warm up our chilly northern-hemisphere days! I enjoyed the seamless weaving of canon points into a very basic scene; the many little hints with future implications. And, of course, it is 'cute'.
One minor clarification for budding authors in general, regarding the 1000 word stipulation -- that's actually not a 'challenge' requirement, but rather something that's currently hard-coded into the site. As I understand it, the story management system won't actually let you submit a story or chapter that's shorter than 1K.
Anyway, great to have an extra bit of spice added to the challenge -- thank you for sharing, Martin!
Author's Response: Thank you so much for your kind words. One result of the 1k word limit was that Luna now got the opportunity to explicitely pointed out the previously more subtle Quidditch reference. That, in turn, gave me the perfect opportunity to sow the seed of stealing her brothers' brooms into Ginny's mind. Everything was perfect.
Author's Response: Oh, and I've changed the note that the word limit applies only to challenge stories. After all, I don't want to spread half truths. ;)

Lovely little snapshot of Ginny and Luna as girls! I can easily imagine a sleepover scene such as this occurring during their childhoods. Poor Ginny having difficulties with a Nargle!!!
Author's Response: Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoyed it. The idea came to me about two weeks ago, shortly before I went into holidays, and somehow it never left my mind. Eventually, I wrote it down, so I have some peace in my holidays.

A cute view of Luna's and Ginny's childhood. A Nargle hunt is certainly important. I wasn't a huge fan of 'Luni' as a nickname, but that's just a minor point.
Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed the story. To be honest, I pondered a while if I should let Ginny call Luna Luni. It does sound too much like Loony, doesn't it? On the other hand I wanted Ginny to use a nickname for Luna. I think that Ginny will use Luna's real name when she feels a bit more 'mature', maybe when she's nine, or ten. To cut it short, in the end I used the without doubt rather weak nickname simply because, for Merlin's sake, I couldn't find something better...and I thought it didn't matter that much.
