Tori seems a bit smitten...kutgw

Author's Response: She’s getting there, but she’s still a bit cautious and who can blame her?

It's very curious to think about Draco's sixth year - I think you've pegged it well. He would have been a bit drunk on his own importance at first, but with a growing sense of horror as he realized what was expected of him (or rather how he couldn't do what was expected). Astoria is such an interesting character - I like the romance you've developed between them.

Author's Response: Thank you so much!

I rather like your Draco. You have managed to make him into a decent human being instead of a complete arse. I suppose maturity and a small measure of humility would make any guy more tolerable ;) Astoria is lovely and I'm definitely curious about her.

Author's Response: Thanks! He's got a long way to go, but now that his father has been knocked off the pedestal Draco had him on, perhaps Draco can aspire to something more than just another Malfoy bully. I definitely enjoy writing about Astoria. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Oh! I was so delighted to see a return of this one! Draco Malfoy does tend to take over, doesn't he? Puffed-up little popinjay he is! The beginning of this chapter had him musing that he could've been a murderer. I still believe he holds some responsibility in DDs murder, but also in what happened to Ron and Katie. Had they died, it would've been manslaughter, at the very least. I still think he got off too easy. I really do like the dynamic you're building with Astoria. She's intriguing, and I love the artist angle.

Back to the murder though. Poison tends to be a woman's method of choice though, doesn't it? I wonder who this beautiful stranger was behind the table where Astoria left her drawing. Hmmm. Well done, you!!

Author's Response: He does take over. Total Slytherin coup. So, you think our murderer is a woman? Well, there's at least a 50% chance of that. :) Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Wow, you seriously gave a lot of thought to Malfoy character! I like the way you’re writing the story. Keep up the good work!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! Draco is the most difficult character for me to write, so I really appreciate that.

I thought you did a fine job with Draco dealing with Dumbledore's blackened hand on Draco's own person. Best part of the chapter for me.

Author's Response: Thank you so much!

Great to see another chapter! Hey, even the Grinch's heart grew 3 sizes too big so why not Draco's?! Also seems that Draco and Astoria are falling for each other! She is certainly worried about her premonition of Romilda's murder, and Draco was sorta gallant to hide and return her drawing! Will be interested to see how their relationship develops and how they both tie into solving the murder and helping Harry! Draco seems skeptical the murderer was one of Romilda's rapists, but then again, there is that pesky Imperio curse! Can't wait for another chapter! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Author's Response: Maybe one or two sizes bigger, but not three. I think Draco will always be a bit of a misanthrope, but he'll make a good husband and father some day. Draco doesn't really have any good theories about the murderer, but he may find out he knows more than he realizes. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!

You gave Draco a brain and a heart? Are you alright?

Author's Response: Quite all right, thanks. :) I think Draco is quite intelligent, and no worries, his heart is still two sizes too small. At this point, Astoria is Draco’s only friend. All of his Death Eater and Death Eater sympathizer friends (the only kind he’s ever had) think him to be a traitor, so he has little incentive to get Astoria in trouble, as her visits to Malfoy Manor are the only thing he has to look forward to. I think it’s a given that he wouldn’t give her sketch to the Ministry or even to his mother. What isn’t a given is whether he would keep it in case he needs Astoria’s cooperation in the future or if he would give it back. Sixteen-year-old Draco would keep it without hesitation, but 18-year-old Draco could go either way. I chose to have him yield to one of the better impulses that he has on occasion, but I’m sure plenty of people will consider it to be out of character. Thank you for reading and reviewing!
