Consider me a nerd - yes I am. But:

"he and Hermione against Ron and Ginny; Hermione was dreadful and Ginny excellent, so they were reasonably well matched"

can't be true: Ron is a very good Keeper, Ginny excelent Chaser against Seeker (not a Chaser) and dreadful non-player. How can it be well matched? More like absolutely uneven )).

Anyway, love the story and nice chapter!

Author's Response: I see what you're saying, but in HBP, chapter 6, "Draco's Detour", JK Rowling writes the following: "He spent most of his days playing two-a-side Quidditch in the Weasleys' orchard (he and Hermione against Ron and Ginny; Hermione was dreadful and Ginny good, so they were reasonably well matched)", so I just sort of followed that and went with it. Harry's quite skilled even if he is a Seeker, and Hermione's dreadful for sure, but the lack of attention paid to Ron's skills in the book at this point suggests to me that Ron's not as good as Ginny and she's the only one who's a match for Harry (possibly skill against speed, I would think, but I don't think Harry's awful with catching and throwing; there's a scene in OotP where the team is practicing catching and throwing together, and Harry always manages to both catch and throw the Quaffle despite the group of Slytherin students out there trolling them). Ron spends way too much time letting his nerves get the best of him to be at his best all the time, and I can see this regularly affecting how well he plays, even when it's just the four of them having fun in the orchard. Please also consider me a nerd ;) Anyway, thanks for the review! I hope you continue to enjoy the story (the next chapter should be up sometime next Saturday or Sunday).

This chapter went straight to my fluffy place! You had me laughing at the stories Sirius, Remus, and Tonks told Harry about his parents. You made me giggle when Sirius cornered Harry with "The Talk." It was very easy to picture the scene between Ginny and Fleur and the way each witch rubbed the other wrong over Ginny's brothers. Most of all, I sighed with happiness when Harry was finally able to tell Ginny he loves her. She's been waiting so patiently for so long that it's a wonder the two of them came up for air at all after that! Well done. I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

Good luck with all your IEPs. I am one of those parents you write them for and I appreciate all the time and effort that goes into making sure they're accurate. I have a stack of thirteen in my filing cabinet and always tried to be the most easy-going parent my son's case manager had to deal with.

Author's Response: I don't write a whole lot of fluff, but this chapter was such a joy to write! The stories of Harry's parents, the Talk, Ginny's utter disgust at Fleur's entire existence... I found myself continually adding in things clear up to the moment I was ready to post. And of course, that last scene. I loved writing that so much. Thank you! It is exhausting to write IEPs, honestly. We have to make sure we're taking accurate data and really looking at what each student really needs to progress further in their education. It's especially hard for me because my area is the students with significant cognitive disabilities, so I take data, write present levels, and create goals for reading, writing, math, functional skills, behavior... a lot of stuff. I have a student with a feeding tube, a student who is functionally blind, toileting and diapering needs, and I have to work closely with a variety of specialists for related services that are provided for my students. I was so busy this past week in particular for my caseload, but I'm glad it's over and done with. Of course, now I have to make new data sheets for everything, but I'm trying to just take things one day at a time. Thankfully, most of my parents are easy-going and are firm in their support of whatever I think is best for their child. I really appreciate the parents I'm working with this year. Anyway, thanks for the review! Next up is Harry's birthday :)

Fireworks amundo for Harry and Ginny! Their love is indeed powerful! Absolutely delightful and entertaining chapter! Still giggling from Sirius's sex talk with Harry! Love the bits with Phlegm(Fleur) - of course we must admit she did prove her witchley talent during the final battle! Glad all the kids had such a nice summer! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Author's Response: Thank you! I was so excited to share this chapter because of Harry finally figuring out his feelings and telling Ginny he loves her. I had so much fun writing the sex talk. There's more of Fleur to come, of course, there's always some level of tension when she's around at this point. I loved writing such a happy summer chapter, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

The longest chapter thus far and full of fluff, what a treat! I loved everything about this. The Talk with Sirius, Ginny teasing Harry about snogging in front of her family and especially Harry telling Ginny the three little words at the end. (I would throw a few magical musicians into Lily and James' music taste so that it doesn't get too "muggleised".) Fleur isn't doing herself any favors and when she only acts super haughty when Bill isn't there that makes him think that she’s disliked by his family without reason too, I'm interested in seeing how that will play out in the future. Loved seeing Remus and Tonks and loved Ginny telling Harry that he deserved happiness and love and really liked that Neville and Luna spent time at the Burrow too. Ron sticking his elbow in the butter dish bc of Fleur is hilarious. Hermione is a little righteous about her actions regarding her parents, I think she should be a bit more careful with her actions and words regarding them, it makes it sound like she underestimates them and their intelligence when she just dismisses their guardianship of her because they're muggles and "wouldn't understand"
I very much loved how much you showed us of Harry's summer, it was very needed for his healing process but now it's nearly time to go back to Hogwarts and I'm very excited! Also intrigued by Umbridge's tryout soon. I'm curious whether Dean will play a role or not, I'm leaning towards not so much because he sees that Harry and Ginny are happy and he's a good guy.

Author's Response: I love writing angst and drama, but this chapter was one of my favorites to write thus because of the fluff. I don't write happy things all that much (I used to write a lot of Supernatural fanfic on another site and it was full of drama and angst!). I had so much fun with the Talk, Ginny teasing Harry, and goodness, that final scene! I am crazy-proud of the ending there :) Some of Fleur's haughtiness will start to creep in more and more when Bill is around, but right now, Bill is mostly thinking any bias is based on how she acted during the Triwizard Tournament. I'm hoping to get more Remus and Tonks in as the story progresses, but it's hard when he's undercover with werewolves. That scene of Ginny telling Harry he deserved happiness was actually the last scene I wrote of this chapter before posting it! This chapter was difficult to piece together because new lines of thought would suddenly pop up with additional scenes I needed to fit in. It was quite the task, but I'm very happy with the finished product. I was determined that Neville and Luna be involved, as well, especially with the trial of Umbridge coming up (chapter after next; Harry deserves a proper birthday!). I giggled a bit when I wrote Ron sticking his elbow in the butter dish. And Hermione... you're right, she's speaking as though she underestimates her parents and doesn't care about their guardianship of her. I did this on purpose. She's starting to spiral down a path of thinking she is best equipped to make important decisions about herself and others. We already know from canon her choice to alter her parents' memories and send them off to Australia. It was done from a place of wanting to protect them for sure, but I think there was an element of not trusting anyone else but herself to do it. The Dursleys went off with the Order for protection, but Hermione deliberately sent her parents to a completely different continent. At this point, she knows she was right to protect her parents from the truth of Harry's upbringing in order to protect him, so therefore she's in the right when it comes to anything from the magical world and her parents. We're going to see elements of this almost callous decision-making and talk develop further as the story continues. As for Dean... I'm leaning towards a bit of drama at first, but then he figures things out pretty quick and settles down. He thought Ginny was genuinely interested in him and had the last two weeks of school to watch her go off with Harry. He's confused, he didn't press for answers at the time, and he's been spending all summer brooding about what happened. He wasn't even aware that Harry saw Ginny beyond that of a friend and Ron's little sister, so that creates a couple week's worth of tension before he comes to terms with reality. Thank you!

This was a simply stunning chapter. From Sirius' little wizards talk to Molly's growing acceptance of Sirius as parent to Tonks's soft kiss on Remus check. The building of Harry's ego should be fun . Brava.

Author's Response: Thank you! I had a lot of fun with Sirius's little wizards talk. It's been super important to me that Molly grow to accept Sirius as Harry's guardian. Remus has given in. We'll see bits and pieces of how the relationship between them continues to develop. And Harry definitely needs a healthy ego for sure. Thanks again!
