Please tell me Harry's intelligent enough to check with Sirius before using the Prince's spells

Wow! So much in this chapter to digest! First off, I'm worried about Madam Pomfrey. I really hope she's putting up silencing charms when she talks to Harry. She seems far too revealing, to me, and knowing Harry's natural avoidance and reticence, I can't help but believe he's going to start hiding things from her. Too much, too direct, I thought, and it made me concerned she had other motives. Malfoy is a git, and Snape confused me. I know I'll never trust him, but for this story, he seemed rather helpful.

The whole exchange with Sirius was interesting. I don't know what he's up to, but I can't believe he'll let Hermione get away with questioning him like that for long. I can see him playing some sort of joke on her. She's always so trusting of authority, but she questions him quite freely. It's an interesting mix.

Very curious to see what you do with the DA.

Author's Response: Madam Pomfrey is using silencing charms, but her direct manner is going to become progressively off-putting for Harry as the weekly check-ins go on. She doesn't have other motives, but I wanted to highlight the struggle that can result from seeking help from someone who doesn't necessarily mesh well with the other person's personality, wants, needs, etc. because it can and does happen. Malfoy is always a git (I am not an apologist when it comes to him), and Snape... well, things are weird now given that Harry knows Snape's motivations and Snape is aware of it, which resulted in this odd little scene. There are plenty of moments coming where we're going to see Harry and Snape trying to figure out how to act around each other. Snape knows the full extent of Harry's upbringing because Voldemort told him, Harry knows that Snape was Lily's childhood friend and does all that he does for her, and Snape knows that Harry wants to ask about his mother, but doens't know how... it's complicated. As for the exchange with Sirius, Hermione does normally defer to authority, but after all the crap press fourth year, articles in the Daily Prophet about Harry really bothers her, so it comes from a place of making sure everyone is doing right by Harry. Sirius isn't up to anything nefarious or what have you, but there is a reason for that exchange coming in a few chapters. And as for the DA, that's also in a few chapters. I feel pretty happy with what I've got planned for that. Thank you!

Sometimes all it takes is the light turned on in a different direction...kutgw

Author's Response: Sometimes that's all it takes, indeed. Thank you!

Interesting chapter! Leave it to Dorko Malflunky to make an arse of himself! Snape actually helpful for a change? Heaven help us! Glad they are firing up the DA again! Can't wait to see what Sirius is up to! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Author's Response: I hope that scene with Snape felt as discomforting for you as it was for Harry! And Draco... there are some interesting interactions in store between him and Harry. I'm glad you're excited about the DA coming back! As for what Sirius is up to... that's going to be answered in chapter 29. Thank you!

Another great chapter! You manage to characterise Snape quite well, not making him out as a better person that he is but also not portraying him purely as a villain, he is a very grey character! I am excited to have a continuation of the DA, it has been done a lot but if done right, which I am sure you will be able to do it’s always interesting to see how it unfolds....you’re making me curious with Hermione and her bag and I like how Ron is becoming more and more determined to ask her out, all he needed in canon was some brotherly advise and less of a temper (and hormones)....hope Ginny and Harry will be able to catch a break for themselves soon, I can relate to the study stress though as I have to study quite a lot myself at the moment...hope you’re doing well and happy Easter :)

Author's Response: I know I've said this before (either here or Discord, who even knows at this point), but I find Snape to be such an interesting character because of how grey he is. I hope to continue to do him justice as this story goes on. I'm glad you're looking forward to the DA continuing! Hermione... you ought to be curious! I'm definitely not divulging what's going on there just yet. Ron is working towards asking Hermione out, but I can't promise smooth sailing for those two, sorry! I've got a proper snogging scene coming up for Harry and Ginny, but it isn't until chapter 29, unfortunately. Got lots of stuff going on that has to be addressed, sadly. Thank you!
