Well I think that they are starting to figure out what is going on and Snape is starting to trust them as well...kutgw
Author's Response: Yes, and yes. There's still much to discover, but the clues are starting to pile up. Snape is still a git, but he also knows Harry's going to get into trouble regardless of whether he helps or hinders, so this was really the only recourse he's got at the moment. Thank you!

Certainly glad Katie Bell was harmed in this version of HBP! Nice that Ron and Mione are hitting it off! Glad Harry and Ginny managed to head off disaster! Dorko Malflunky is a pain in the drain! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
Author's Response: I knew I wanted to save Katie early on in writing this story, and I think it works out well :) There's more awkward Romione moments coming in a couple chapters. Thank you!

Title: The Date
Okay, first part with Harry being Ron's wingman hit my happy place. I love the friendship between these boys. I also really enjoyed Ron and Hermione's date and seeing her bolster his confidence a bit.
Then we get to Katie, and she's saved being Cursed. That keeps Dean off the Quidditch team, anyway! What I found really interesting was Harry sharing the map with Snape. My jaw hung open, and I have to admit, a part of me was cringing waiting for Snape to confiscate it!! I don't think I could ever lower my guard like that, but I've long thought Harry was a better person than I! Well done!
Author's Response: Ron and Harry's friendship is awesome. There's more good moments like this in the next couple of chapters :) I'm so glad you liked the date! I was nervous about how that would be received, but saving Katie from being cursed was an important difference I knew I wanted to have happen early on. Snape knows Harry's got this mission, so as much as he hated himself for it, taking the map was not in the best interests of their efforts to win the war. They need to know what Malfoy is up to, and Snape has learned that Harry's going to get into trouble regardless; plus taking it would mean Sirius getting involved, and I don't think he wanted to deal with that, either. Thank you!
