Lol you made the Weasleys into a ranch family, that's great. I understand the Weasley elders staying neutral in their kid's argument. I myself don't know how I'd really handle an argument of that magnitude between 2 of my adult children. I would've at least told them that I would support both because I loved them. Maybe they were a bit lacking in the moment with their feelings/acceptance of Ron and Ginny. I'm glad Dudley changed. It's aways nice to see a child break the mold and get away from their parents if the parents in question are toxic.

Good job =)

Author's Response: I'm glad you find the fact that the Weasleys own a farm a pleasant notion. It just seemed fitting that Arthur and Molly would want to raise their family on the land and if you look at a map of the area, it's peppered with small farms of various types. They fit in with the community. I do want to defend Arthur and Molly's attitude towards Ron and Ginny's argument: sometimes, as a parent, you just have to step back and let the two battle it out no matter how much it hurts, especially if they are adults. When the combatants are children, it's natural to step in and try to solve the argument, but once the children grow up, hopefully, you've given them the skills they need to resolve their differences by themselves... and that was what Arthur and Molly thought they needed to do. As for Dudley, Rowling gave readers the hope that he might be able to think for himself if he could just get away from his parents, and that's what I had him do. Thanks for reading.

Beautifully written. Forgiveness is such a powerful thing, and I think they are all feeling the weight of their anger and resentment being lifted away. I truly love this chapter. Brava, my dear friend. Oh, and the alpacas and the yarn; I think that what we're going to do. Get our own herd of alpaca and go into business together? Might be hard not to keep all the yarn for ourselves.

Author's Response: Ginny really did need to come home and reestablish her ties with her parents, who really did try to let their grown children fix their differences without getting involved. That may not have been the right decision, considering how immature Ron is at this point, but now that Ginny has come home, many ruffled feathers have been smoothed over and Ginny has some of the answers she needs to move on. I agree that if we ever go into the business of alpaca raising, it will be hard not to keep all the yarn for ourselves!

I loved the glimpse of the Muggle Weasleys. I can so see Molly being so proud of her little Alpaca herd. I like the idea of Arthur being a farmer and owning livestock, that really does seem like something he would love, although my husband grew up on a dairy farm and would always tell me that if they weren't Holsteins, they weren't real cows :).
I'm glad that she was able to talk to her parents and Bill. She is very generous with them, because they were all idiots. How would Ron know if she had done something wrong? I can't believe Molly's excuse - they wanted to stay neutral. I'm sorry, you stay neutral over little things, not when one child is very much in the wrong and one child very much in the right. I don't get them all being jealous of her being able to spend time with Fred. They could have taken the time to spend with him and chose to prioritize other things over spending time with Fred. Even if they were jealous, why blame her? Personally, I think she should sue the hospital. They had a full on investigation and hearing over the drunk rambling of a grieving visitor?
I like the idea of Dudley and Harry reconnecting in a distant sort of way. I think they are too different and too much has happened for them to ever be close. I had to laugh at the idea of Petunia and Vernon thriving in Canada.

Author's Response: Have you ever heard the saying, "out of sight, out of mind"? That's what makes Petunia and Vernon so happy in Canada. They don't have the uncomfortable reminders of having to raise a child they didn't want where they're living now and they don't have to deal with a son who probably didn't want to sit behind a desk like his dad did. As for the Weasleys, it's amazing what people will do in times of stress, like believing Ron's drunken rants. No, it wasn't fair to Ginny. No, it wasn't right that she was forced to leave a job she loved. However, time has passed and the family has moved forward and it was time for Ginny to reconnect: that's the good that has come out of this separation. I've always thought Arthur would make a better farmer than a Ministry employee and in this story, has made a success of his venture. What made me happy was Molly's success with her Alpaca herd. I think canon Molly was a frustrated woman who had gladly given up a career to have a family with Arthur. In this story, her major role is still wife/mother, but now she's a successful business woman and that makes her happy. I love your comment about the cows. I had a chance to see some "proper English cows" the other day and your husband may be right! The fully-grown cows I saw were "cute" little things the size of a Holstein heifer. Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts.

I was so happy Ginny's family showed some support and acknowledgment that Ron is out of line. It's important. I also enjoyed Harry getting together with Dudley. Even if it's not what wizards might call it, PTSD does explain what Harry goes through from a very young age. You're doing such a great job with this story.

Author's Response: Thanks for all the encouragement! I thought it was about time for Ginny to heal from the fall-out of Ron's accusations. She stayed away so that her family could have the time to reconsider their decisions, make up their own minds and recover from losing not one child but two! Essentially, Ginny's move and consequent silence towards her family "lost" her to the rest of her family. She's had the time, too, to step away from the tangle of emotions and think about what happened enough to decide on what sorts of questions to ask when she finally went home. The bonus for her was reconnecting with Bill. As for Harry and Dudley, they both understand PTSD and the symptoms some fan fic writers call "spell shock." I think getting to talk to Dudley in an adult context helped each of them feel better about possibly being friends in the future. Thanks for reading.

The road to recovery is long but must start with a single step, and that’s what they both did and I’m happy to see it...kutgw

Author's Response: I'm so glad you think so. Thanks for reading.

Nice to see Harry dealing with his PTSD which isn't easy! Glad he buried the hatchet with Dudley! It was good for Ginny to visit her family on the farm and those new alpacas! Ron needs to get his shite together and back off Ginny! (Bill and Jeannine instead of Fleur? Good ol AU)! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Author's Response: I'm so glad you like the chapter. When I first started writing about the Weasley brothers and their wives, I realized that Fleur couldn't exist, Angelina had ditched Fred and wasn't going to go near the Weasleys because of bad memories, and Percy and Charlie needed new wives because I was going to have to come up with new names for Bill and George's. Also, Ron couldn't possibly fall in love with Hermione because they move in totally different circles and at this point in time, they don't know the other exists! So... in a future chapter, you'll meet all of the Weasley brothers' wives and their children. And yes, even Dudley is trying to make a new life for himself, which means he and Harry might even like each other just enough to send each other Christmas cards once a year. I think my favorite part of the chapter was Ginny's day at the farm, mostly because she finally received the answers to her questions and repaired her relationship with her parents and Bill. Oh, by the way, all the Weasley jumpers Molly makes for Christmas will all be made out of alpaca yarn instead of wool this year! Thanks for reading. Until next Monday...

I'm glad that the gestures of reconciliation obviously have been accepted. And now I'm looking forward to Ginny giving Ron a proper ticking-off.
I'm pretty curious how long will it take them to move on from just friends to something more official. No pressure, though. Give them all the time they need. It is just the first of a whole bunch of questions that I hope to find answers to much later in the story, lol. Like, will Harry introduce Ginny to Hermione, or is Hermione going to waylay them to get to know Ginny 'by chance', lol?
Great update. Thank you!

Author's Response: As the Wicked Witch of the West told Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, "All in good time, my pretty, all in good time!" And all in good time will all of your wonderful questions be answered because we still have fourteen more chapters to go! No spoilers in this reply... sorry! Thanks for reading and I'm glad you want Ginny to give Ron a piece of her mind. See you next Monday.

Wow! That was fabulous! I loved the little input of PTSD, awaiting more!

Author's Response: PTSD is the thing that Harry knows Muggles will understand about his condition. While Harry doesn't tell Dudley that he has nightmares, nor does he have them in the early chapters of this story, he does have all the symptoms that any soldier suffering from PTSD has. As always, another chapter will be posted next Monday. See you then and thanks for reading.
