Whitehorn seems a little overzealous in his attempt to please his owner although I'm glad he did take the letter. Who knows if Harry would have decided against it eventually or not? I always laugh anytime I read the books or fanfiction where someone is vulgar with or about the portrait of Sirius' mother. Hag isn't too bad but it still gave me a chuckle. I think it's sweet how Ginny refers to Harry as "her Harry" now that she's more accepting of talking with him, almost as if she's already made up her mind to repair what they had.

Another good chapter =)

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked the chapter. Yes, Whitehorn is a bit overenthusiastic, but I needed a matchmaker and he just fit the bill. You can tell that Harry and Ginny are both very ready to talk to each other now and that it'll just be a matter of time before they get together again.

I love Whitehorn! I was so disappointed that Ginny was unable to meet Harry. I WA worried this would be a serious setback, but now things are looking up again. Its wonderful that Harry's new owl is helping get Harry and Ginny back together again. I'll be looking forward to seeing what happens next.

Author's Response: Harry and Ginny are determined to get back together... it's just a matter of when and hopefully, with a little help from Whitehorn, they'll get back together soon. You'll actually know that next chapter. Thanks for reading.

What a wonderful chapter. I'm glad Harry made a new friend in Whitehorn - and what a smart friend he is. Apparently, Whitehorn immediately recognised that Harry needs all the help he can get to get Ginny back.
Lol, not sure if it was intended, but it almost sounded like 'Good matches, be they wands or owls (or girls) sometimes were best left to the object rather than the wizard'.

Author's Response: I like your amendment to Harry's thought. I think he's always needed to leave things well enough alone if he's to succeed in making the right match. Whitehorn knew what to do, just like I think Hedwig would have. Both owls are intelligent beings and seem to have bonded with Harry enough to know instinctively what he needs. Thanks for reading.

Nice job with Whitehorn! He's funny. It's probably a little odd to write from an owl's perspective, but I didn't mind those parts at all.

Looking forward to them finally talking. Thanks.

Author's Response: Actually, writing from Whitehorn's point of view was quite fun. I pictured him as an abused owl who sensed a human who needed him and would provide a quiet home and lots of post to deliver. Because Harry is such a kind person to his owl, Whitehorn wanted to be kind back, so he worked at finding things like taking that first letter that would please his master. With a job well done comes pride in one's abilities and that's what Whitehorn needed. And now, in the next chapter, Harry and Ginny will talk because of what Whitehorn did for his wizard.

Loved Whitehorn and his matchmaking. Harry's lucky to have him, and hopefully Ginny will be more receptive this time to what Harry's life entails. It's hard not to be intrigued!

Author's Response: Most of my reviewers have been saying, "it's about time!" and making me laugh with their comments. Since Whitehorn chose Harry, you know he's going to do all in his power to get his master and future mistress back together. He's just as special in his own way as Hedwig was. You'll find out next chapter about how Ginny reacts to Harry's magical world now that she has had time to think about it. Thanks for the kind words.

Whitehorn is a wonderful character, and a worthy successor to Hedwig. Glad that Harry and Ginny found a way to communicate quickly so that the misunderstanding didn't last too long. Look forward to Ginny's reaction to Harry's hopefully better thought out explanation of magic.

Author's Response: I'm bouncing in my chair because you think Whitehorn is a worthy successor to Hedwig. He played matchmaker because he's so grateful to be in a calm household with lots of deliveries to make and in turn helped his master and future mistress reconcile faster. You'll have to wait until next Monday to see how Ginny reacts to Harry and his house. Thanks for reviewing.

Great job! I look forward every week to your updates, real great story, if it doesn't win another DSTA this month then I'll be damned.

Author's Response: I'll be posting for another three weeks since there are twenty chapters in this story. Thanks for reading and commenting. I look forward to your reviews each week.

Good job Whitehorn! Strangely I want to hear more about Hermione and Neville!!

Author's Response: I'm so glad you like Whitehorn and think he did a good job. There will be more Hermione and Neville in all of the up-coming chapters. Thanks for reading.

Good chapter, glad that Harry found out the truth about her working, before he did something stupid

Author's Response: Even as an adult, Harry is sometimes prone to doing stupid things, just like the rest of us. However, as you say, he didn't this time. Thanks for reading.

I love Whitehorn!! He's so sweet! I love that Ginny was so accepting of him. Glad that Harry was able to get rid of Sirius' mother! Bet that made him feel a lot better. Can't wait to see what happens when they meet up.

Author's Response: I love Whitehorn, too. I thought an abused owl choosing Harry would be good for both of them, and even though Harry doesn't realize it, Whitehorn's affection for his new master is helping Harry heal, too. Ginny is good at taking things in stride once she understands what's going on. She'll have a steep learning curve her first year in the magical world, but when the lessons and objects are introduced gradually, as Whitehorn was, it's easy for her to accept him. I've always said a good "bang" on my piano while playing the loudest, fastest piece of music I know, is a great stress reliever. For Harry, getting rid of Sirius' mother using only Muggle tools did make him feel better as will his reunion with Ginny in the next chapter. See you next week!

I knew Whitehorn was the new matchmaker as soon I read about him sensing Ginny was Harry's mate! Very clever bird and I'm glad Harry got him!
Sally was also helpful with Ginny! I sense a reunion coming soon! Great chapter! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Author's Response: I've always been curious about how the owls knew where to find their targets and what better reason for this than the magic of love and friendship! Sally was just the person Ginny needed to get her out of her gloomy frame of mind. I'm glad you liked her. You're right... Harry and Ginny will at last meet face to face in chapter eighteen. See you next week!

Oh, those meddling owls! Glad Harry has a feathery someone looking out for him.

Author's Response: Sometimes, it's good that someone meddles on your behalf. Harry is grateful that Whitehorn stuck his beak where it did both him and Ginny some good. Thanks for reading.

Well Iā€™m glad to see harry make contact with Ginny and with a new owl....I get trying to replace hedwig is going to be tough but it was time....kutgw

Author's Response: You're right, it was time for Harry to get a new owl. He'll never "replace" Hedwig, but having the services and affection of Whitehorn still go a long way to help him heal just a little more and eventually get back together with Ginny. Thanks for reading and see you next week!

Loved the entry of an owl, and Whitehorn! What a splendid name, I must say, Whitehorn's perspective was refreshing, it showed us a side to them which we often forget. Harry's letter was all that I would've hoped, it reflects your style! The character's, as always, were spot on. See you next Monday!

Author's Response: Thank you for your kind words. This is one of my favorite chapters in this story because it gives a fresh perspective on the H/G romance and what it takes to get them back together. Only Harry would be chosen by an abused, match-making owl! Thanks for reading and see you next week!
