Title: Alarm
Great chapter! This story is a difficult one to read, mostly because of the dementia aspect to this virus. It's been a little over a year since my grandfather passed away from it. He declined rapidly, much like Ginny. It was only in hindsight that what we brushed off as normal age related memory loss and my grandfather's dislike for wearing his hearing aids were actually early signs of the disease. It was horrible and awkward visiting him in the hospice. He didn't recognize us, he wouldn't eat. I can emphasize greatly with Harry, the Weasley's and Hermione. It truly makes you feel helpless.
I hope Ron's wrong and no one else contracts this disease. Chances are it will be Harry, simply because he has had closer contact with Ginny. If it is someone else, I think Vivian should look into the factors that make someone more likely to fall ill to it. I'm in the science field, so the mechanics behind it are interesting to me. Does one gender more likely to contract it? Is age a factor? Blood status/genetics? What about the severity and recovery for both magical and muggle communities?
I expect like covid, it will be worse in the beginning until science/healers and unspeakable get an understanding of it through data. This is a great escape from reality despite the great similarities in reality. In my state of California, USA, it is the lockdown that are hurting us now. We have the knowledge to wear masks and social distance. We know the survival rates for people over the 50s is 95% and anyone under that age it is 99%. We now that people who are outliers to that have preexisting conditions or a mutation in their DNA that is responsible for B cells. Unemployment
rates are high. I have 5 people in my family that have lost their jobs because of the lockdowns, but am fortunate enough to know no one to become ill with covid. I hope you and your family are doing well during this time. Take care and thank you for sharing your story with us!
Author's Response: Oh, thanks so much for sharing your thoughts! I appreciate it!. My sympathy for your grandfather. I know exactly what you're talking about as I went through it with both my parents. Your response actually gave me an idea about something that comes up in a later chapter that I might have to go back and adjust a bit. I started writing this story back in March when we all went into lockdown as something to do. I lost my mom to Covid at the end of April, which sort of made me want to make my illness something different as that hit too close to home. This has been a good exercise, however and made me think of many fond memories.

Might I suggest that Vivian try something really hard next time? I have heard that only the smartest get "person woman man camera tv" correct. :) I've been meaning to go back to the beginning and review all of the chapters (because I have been reading this from almost the beginning) in order, but I just had to make that particular comment.
I'm a bit afraid of what's coming next. I hate seeing Harry and Ginny in this situation.
Author's Response: Thanks very much! It's very cool to see your name here! As for Vivian's questions, I went through Dementia with both of my parents, and it was always three things. It wasn't meant to be difficult, but to see if they were slipping. As the disease moved on, those three simple words became impossible. I've always heard that you should write what you know, right? So, that's where the testing came from.

I've a feeling that Harry is infected as well....
Author's Response: Do you think so? I think this having it affect the people he loves and being powerless to stop it is worse than being sick for him.

That's a mean cliff hanger! I almost wish you would put Harry unconscious rather than this torture! :P
Author's Response: Ha! Tell Ryan that. It's his fault. I can always find ways to torture Harry ;)

Zero joy in mudville! Since it appears nothing positive is going to happen with the prisoners you might as well kill Ginny off now and not make her and Harry suffer. Unfortunately, Harry is the most likely to be next! And we thought Covid was bad! It's got nothing on this junk! If this goes any futher downward we'll need skis! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
Author's Response: LOL - I'll give fair warning - there are moguls ahead ;) It's always darkest before the dawn.
