This is the best method of how to take out Voldemort and his Death Eaters I've ever read! It was done so succinctly and with no loss on Harry's side of the fight... remarkable. I'm glad Harry felt relieved it is over, that he has plans for his future and that he can take his trip to America to see Hermione with a clear conscience. I'm hoping next chapter will be about his trip and that we get to see a little more of Ron, too. All in all, well done!

Author's Response: Glad you liked "putting Tom down". It just required proper planning and all that. Yep, you get a trip but red-heads really don't start showing up until ch 10.

Whoa! Didn't see that coming! Nice that they got them all including the rat and the Dark Dork but it couldn't be that easy could it! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Author's Response: Yes, it should always have been that easy. The "good guys" + the sheep drastically out number the "bad guys". Then again, this chapter was written with the cliche about "proper planning..." in mind. :) -- Kevin

Dupree, 1; Umbridge: 0. :-)

Points to Harry for at least trying to "think things through," there.

I suppose magic could be used in order to be able to make constructive(!) use of green wood; that would not be my first choice, though, I think.

Hmmm... I wonder if (a modification of) that "self-destruct" rune might have other uses -- e.g., use it on a building, entice a certain individual to said building, and ... gone. :-}

Augusta surely expected that he wouldn't be able to tell her, yeah...?

Picking through their belongings seems a tad ... ghoulish.

I find it mildly curious that Harry chose a Disillusionment charm (vs. using his cloak).

I guess Pettigrew became a lab rat....

I love it when a plan comes together. :-)

Author's Response: I see Dupree as having a bit of a swagger as a curse-breaker and he's not going to take (stuff) off of anyone he doesn't like -- and no one likes Umbridge -- so no real contest there. :) As for "green wood", I would have to assume there's a spell to dry wood so it's almost instantly stable and usable; with all the other stuff magic can do, that seems easy. :) Hmm, a "generalized self-destruct rune", yes, I can see possibilities with at that ... a person opens the door and the building falls on him. :) Augusta hoped Harry could tell her as not everything the Unspeakables do is secret; I'd mentioned the Uspeakables subduing a manticore earlier in the story and if Harry had been on that he could have told her. A Disillusionment charm was easy to do and protects the cloak; with so many people visible, it was easy for 1 person to "disappear" in order to allow said person to deliver a surprise blow. Hahahaha, Pettigrew a "lab rat" -- good one and appropriate! :) Yes, we all love it when a plan comes together. :) -- Kevin

What an anticlimactic end to old moldyshorts.......harry really needs to see his friends more and maybe work on getting a certain ginger back in his hands... kutgw

Author's Response: Well, "proper planning..." and all that jazz. :) Friends & a female ginger are on the roadmap and coming. :) -- Kevin
