Interesting developments, the first ten days after the "battle." Quite the Christmas present for Madam Bones, the missing persons reports. I don't think she's really going to make much of an effort to have the DMLE try to find the ones reported missing. I wonder how troubled Dumbledore is to be instructed to find a new Potions Master before the resumption of classes.

Harry's journey to the United States has been an interesting one. MACUSA certainly has Harry on its radar, having pulled him aside on his way through customs. I wonder if Harry took the time to really read the paperwork he signed, but at sixteen, I don't think he knows he really needs to look at the fine print before he signs anything.

I'm really glad Harry is being truthful with the Grangers. While he can't tell them everything, he's certainly led them to believe that the political climate of Britain might be changing for the better. It's understandable that Hermione's parents are a bit skeptical and a lot cautious. Harry's talk with Hemione at the end makes sense, too. I really hope he can work things out through Professor McGonagall so he doesn't have to speak face to face with Dumbledore. I'm not sure that would go well at all.

Looking forward to the second half of the Aftermath. Well done!

Author's Response: Ha! I hadn't thought about all the action as a Christmas present for A.Bones, but I suppose it could be. :) BTW, this is 6th year, so Snape isn't the potions teacher. Yes, Harry read what he signed, working for Croaker has ensured that. Yes, Harry walked a fine line with the Grangers, but he did leave the decision in their hands. Talk with MM coming in the next chapter. :) -- Kevin

I see Ginny in the future for Harry! Glad he got to see Hermoine! I guess he isn't at liberty to tell anyone that the Dark Dork and company are goners! Hate for their dark ones families to be left clueless but now maybe they'll understand what their victims went through! Can't wait for the next chapter and Harry's return to Hogwarts! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Author's Response: I'll admit I hadn't thought of that, but you're right that now the "dark side" will get to experience some of the uncertainty of their war. Yes, next chapter Hogwarts comes into play, the return of red-headed friends, and 1 of the conversations that I'm sure everyone is looking forward to. You'll have to guess which one for now. :)

I wonder if Albus believes what comes out of his owm mouth sometimes....

Oh, nice! Now Harry can see what part of the estate house looked like, at least.

Yeah, if he were on a broom at that altitude, some serious warming charms would have been in order.

Nice bit of self-reference, there (with Hermione complaining about being perceived as complaining). :-)

Aye; that meeting did seem to go rather well.

And when it's not an emergency -- and seeing how things will "play out" will take some time in any case -- "waiting a bit" can be a most reasonable approach.

Nice scene in Scrimgeour's office, there.

Ah -- Harry presumes that he *has* "sanity," eh? Silly boy! :-)

Author's Response: Well, Albus is a smart guy with a lot of magic, so he's correct about a large enough number of things that it's easy to believe the rest, or so it seems to me. Yes, Neville did help him on the house a little. I've really enjoyed writing Hermy in this story, more so that usual for some reason -- maybe I'm just having fun with her character. I'm not going to do a lot of politics, but a little will be shown. Of course Harry thinks he's sane, just like all of the other lunatics in the asylum. :)
