Is using ongoing references to Ginny and their relationship in order to checkmate Ron an example of "Gray Harry"?

He certainly planted seed with Ginny for some eventual "grayness".

Thank you

Author's Response: No, the chess game was for fun. Harry discussing Ginny during the game was to unsettle Ron and was more psychological warfare, or perhaps letting his Slytherin side out. :)

Busy chapter and the love between Harry and Ginny is growing! Glad Harry put Dumbledore off but he does have important information for Harry! The Dursleys will be lucky if they don't get visited by deathknibblers! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Author's Response: I'm going to let Vernon and Pet live this time. :) The problem with Albus is that he expects people to automatically listen to him and do what he says. [This] Harry isn't doing that anymore. :)

Yeah, finding out about a prophecy about you that a psychopath seems to believe might tend to cause a bit of a priority adjustment.

Heh -- Ginny can get away with "smiling sweetly" to Ron....

Harry's piling it on fairly thickly (to Dumbledore); then again, Dumbledore is being ,,, singularly obtuse (at best).

Harry does have a point with respect to the utilization of time. It's not as if we can just go buy more of it when it's convenient to do so....

Indeed: "prophecy" and "deterministic behavior" generally seem to be rather at odds with one another.

Harry's "They were a really messed up family" comment got me thinking that there are quite a few contenders for the "Most Dysfunctional Family" award.... :-}

It's clever of Ginny to give herself an "out" with respect to "answer[ing] honestly." :-)

Seems that Harry will get the occasional reminder that his girlfriend is quite clever. :-)

Nice conversation between Harry & Ron over the chess board. And... yeah, the "pin" can be quite powerful (as can a fork). (Though the pin is usually used to effectively immobilize a piece, IIRC.) Nice use of (mild) "psychological warfare" by Harry to actually win a chess game against Ron. :-}

Nice example that Harry used to try to get through to Hermione

Author's Response: Yes, finding a terrorist is after you should cause a change in your views. :) / As I pointed to someone else, Albus expects people to automatically list to him and do as he asks without questioning. Harry has pretty much stopped doing that and is demanding some answers before he does things, which creates [low level] conflict between then. So in some ways, Albus has no one but himself to blame because he doesn't share much info. / Yes, it would be hard to decide who to award "Most Dysfunction Family" to. :) / Ginny will certainly do her part to help Harry, as well as reminding him she's a good partner to have. / I had fun with the the "chess scene" and hopefully that came across. :) / Hermy is coming around. She's very book smart but things outside of her expectations of life can take a little time for her to come to terms with ... like many of us.

Ginny definitely has had an impact on Harry. He is more assertive, which I love. It shall be interesting to see how this changes how fast Harry can end the war.

Author's Response: Yes, Ginny is definitely changing how he views and reacts to things. :)

The discussions with Dumbledore were quite enlightening. Good thing they found some kind of compromise in the end, a compromise they apparently can both live with. I'm damn curious how this story ends since there are apparently only three chapters left, and I can't see an end yet. I can't imagine Harry just running away either. But who knows...

Author's Response: Compromise is a good way to look at it; neither is completely happy but at least each is getting something they want. :) / As for how we get to the end, there's a very small hint in this chapter (8) if you know what to look for. ;) Also, this Harry is going to use his "resources" (vague on purpose) better. I have no intention of writing a 198K word Horocrux search story (aka book 7). :) You'll see some major progress on reaching the end in the next chapter.
