I love how the Gryffindors rallied around Harry to protest the way points were distributed after the second task. It's nice to know that his housemates clearly think he's worth being indignant over.

The whole article in Witch Weekly just made me mad. Seeing Ginny so upset broke my heart and I understand why she left the Great Hall so quickly; I could happily cream Pansy Parkinson for her! And Go Viktor! I'm glad he hexed Malfoy first and that Harry and Ron only have detention. It seems that for their own reasons, all three boys want to protect Hermione's reputation and that in the end, they banded together to make sure she's all right. As for Ginny, it was nice that Harry, Ron and Hermione went looking for her and that Hermione was able to reach out and make Ginny laugh and brave enough to come down to the common room for a bit of Malfoy-bashing!

Finally, I really like the scene with Sirius. It's nice that he likes Ginny enough tease her and Harry about broom cupboards. You've done a really nice job with this scene. Well done.

Author's Response: Again, you have such a knack for zeroing in on the parts of a chapter I hoped would connect best and encouraging me that the effort was worthwhile. I mostly stick to Harry's point of view, but this won't be the last time we see things from Ginny's eyes, so I'm glad you enjoyed it!

We had some really interesting incidents in this chapter. Rita's usual dirty lies. A closer look at Viktor's protective side. Ginny's brief near-breakdown (good thing she recovered so quickly). Not to mention the insightful meeting with Sirius. I hope Harry soon gets the chance to meet Sirius again, alone (to talk about the memory).
Now, while I'm waiting for the next chapter (the downside of reading WIP stories, lol), I'm pretty curious how long it will take for Harry (and Ginny) to be ready to talk about this memory. Even if they still need a while, I'm already looking forward to it. But maybe in the meantime we'll see a conversation between Harry and Sirius on the subject. Who knows. It sure will be fun, too...

Author's Response: While I was most nervous about trying to write the Harry / Ginny dynamic, a close second was the relationship between Sirius and Harry. Pretty pleased with how it went so far, though there's a lot still to be worked on for future chapters. If / When / How does Harry talk to Ginny about the memory looms over the story for now, but I've got some ideas about how to answer those questions. But I'm looking forward to it, too!

Well nice to see victor get in the fun, although it should have been a little more damage to malfoy, for doing what he did…also nice to see Ginny grow up a little but still take the teasingly from Sirius pretty well….I’m sure dobby would be excited to help more as well…kutgw

Author's Response: It was fun writing the back-and-forth between Sirius, Ginny, and Harry, so I'm glad you enjoyed it. Sirius may have caught Gin a bit off-guard this time, but I figure she might have something up her sleeve next time.
