Title: Chapter 45
Ah, great. It was good that Harry was part of the Horcrux hunt. As we saw in the books, in the cave by the sea, Voldemort doesn't take minors seriously, which can be used against him.
Great chapter!
Author's Response: Yeah, including Harry in the hunt makes sense to me. I like what he adds to the mix and think he will be important to their work. Gotta exploit whatever weaknesses Voldemort has. Thanks for reading and commenting!

Author's Response: Yeah, Dumbledore is definitely not telling McGonagall about giving Harry the cloak after seeing her look at the end of the chapter. Thanks for reading and commenting!

Title: Chapter 45
I thought for certain that something in the Gaunt house would require Harry to use his knowledge of Parseltongue. However, having the smoke conjure the figures those in the room fear most is ingenious, too. Poor Sirius. I'm glad Harry recognized the figures of his parents for what they were and helped him to move forward enough to catch the Horcrux at the opportune moment.
The rest of the chapter was just as good. I really liked how Harry was able to contribute to the discussion of how to dismantle the enchantment on the Horcrux and that it seems that Patronuses need "real" memories rather than rogue ones to be conjured properly. McGonagall's disapproval at the end when Harry pulled out his Invisibility Cloak made me smile. Well done. I look forward to next week's update.
Author's Response: Parseltongue will definitely come into play more in the future, but I didn't want to lean too heavily upon that defense, especially since Dumbledore took out these protections alone in canon. The smoke figures were an idea spawned from how the locket attacked Ron's insecurities, which I thought was believable in the situation, so I'm glad you enjoyed that part. I like Harry contributing to the discussion, too. Everyone has differing perspectives and strengths they bring to the table, and Harry's youth, relative inexperience, and Muggle upbringing can be helpful in seeing sides of the problem that others could overlook.
And I'm with you about loving McGonagall's disapproval at the end. I don't usually laugh at things I write, but imagining her face as he left makes me chuckle. Thanks for the comment!
