The funeral was both moving and funny! The fireworks were a nice touch - Fred had to be smiling from above! Ron still has his lousy'
timing! Liked what Harry put on Snape's stone! Now maybe he can tell Ginny the rest of the story! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked the funeral scenes! It was definitely a challenge trying to inject some humour into the otherwise really sad nature of the funeral, but Fred definitely would've liked it! This won't be the last time we see Ron with lousy timing haha, but he usually makes up for it by being a good friend! Harry is as close as possible to finishing the story without actually telling Ginny... we'll see how long it takes him to finish!

With "Albus Severus," there's always the option some authors take of Ginny finding out more about his actions to protect students as headmaster...

Author's Response: I definitely agree with that. There are some moments and memories of Ginny's that I've written that do lay a foundation for that because that's the only way I can think of to justify it on Ginny's end. Mainly, I'm trying to get over my own personal ickiness about the fact that Snape, while he was an effective double agent, also verbally abused children like Neville and Hermione. Not to excuse his abuse of Harry at all, but it feels like people try to justify that because he reminds Snape of James or because it helps with his cover, but he didn't need to be like that to everyone. I don't know, I'm guessing I'm not alone in that feeling, but I am trying to figure out a way that makes narrative sense to me without feeling really out of character for them. At least I've got a lot of time before I'm at that point!

Harry really couldn't have fitted any more of the story after the funeral? He's really playing with fire at this point. How difficult can it be to talk to Ginny?

Author's Response: He's definitely playing a dangerous game. The difficult thing for him is not knowing how Ginny will react to it, other than knowing it's going to be extremely hard on her. With losing her brother and Tonks, the last thing he wants is to make things worse for her, so that's why he's reluctant to bring it up right now. And every time he does get further in the story, they're interrupted, so he has to start rebuilding his bravery to try again. It's funny how naturally fighting dark wizards comes to him, but talking to his girlfriend is a little more scary! He is at the very end of the story though, so Ginny will be finding out *very* soon.

Oh, no, he was never able to finish telling everything... A well-chosen epitaph. I agree with you about Snape, especially after reading the books. I've watched the film series many times, but never read it. After reading it, I understand what kind of character Snape is. I think we should blame the films for this opinion (as well as everything they twisted, especially the attribution of actions to other characters). After books, the desire to watch them decreases.
P.S. Where could you nominate? On another site?

Author's Response: Terrible timing yet again! I will say that Ginny is *extremely* close to finding out everything... I'll just mention/hint that there is a very specific reason I chose the quote I did as the preview for the next chapter. I think you're definitely right about the movies and the popular opinion of Snape. I think Alan Rickman was a brilliant actor who portrayed the Snape in the scripts fantastically, but as we all know, the movies omitted quite a bit of charactierisation for many characters, including Snape, which I feel like makes him a more sympathetic character. Like I said, I haven't decided how to redeem him to the point of Harry and Ginny naming their second child after him, or if I even should. I've got plenty of time to decide at least, but I wanted you all to know that it is something I'm actively thinking through. I'm not 100% sure how the DSTA stuff works, but I'm pretty sure you can nominate stories for them at the top of either the story page or the chapter page, and then it seems like there's a voting cycle every few months for readers to vote on the nominees. The most recent voting cycle just concluded, and you can see the results and notifications for new voting cycles in the home page of SIYE.
