Its a mystery as to why harry was so open with hermione anc ron. could someone have slipped something in his tea?

meeting his father in the portrait must have been a sureal experience. He will have to be careful he doesnt give too much away so as not to sentence the portrait inhabitants to a lifetime of misery...much as i'd like them to know the traitor peter is!

I love the last chapter when Harry and Ginny would be able to spend some time alone. I must say my mind headed directly to the gutter. I laughed when Dumbledore suggested placing some protraits in the room to keep them from getting carried away. Can you Oblivate a protrait just wondering,

This chapter however I can't tell you enough how much I loved and enjoyed it. It was a stroke of genuis to bring a protrait of the four Marauders. What a wonderfuls way to have Harry talk to his father and to Sirius. Another beautifully written chapter as always,

Thank you

Author's Response: Thanks for all the lovely reviews. I love hearing people's reactions to my story, even after all this time. It makes all the time I spent writing it worthwhile.

I am always so happy to read updates from you. This was a lovely chapter that had all your best aspects: great dialogue, intregue, and H&G fluff. Thank you for continuing this story!

I loved this chapter. I'm glad you gave Harry and Ginny some time together. Hopefully, Ginny accepts the egg and the protection it will give her. I think Dean needs some serious hexing. He really needs to keep his nose out of Harry's "things".

Keep up the great work and update soon.

Author's Response: Thanks. They did need time together, especially in the face of what's coming. Dean will look like a tiny problem before long. : ( Thanks for reviewing.

Oooooo Great chapter! There was just so much good stuff going on. I loved the Marauders' portrait, too bad they weren't the only chaperone painting *he he*. I loved Stephen in this chapter and how he is turning into something more than a mentor for Harry. Them and Ginny having tea together was a nice scene and I like that it seems he's interested in her as not just Harry's mate but to make sure she's good for him. I'm glad Harry told him he wasn't going to keep secrets from her or Ron and Hermione and why. That wasn't really fair of Stephen in the first place. All this crazy magic going on with Harry is great, it may be cliche' but you handle it nicely. I loved Macoa's heart and then how it caused Harry to spill, he should have already talked to them. And I loved the ending scene with him and Ginny! *SQUEE* Did the egg prompt that too? This is such a great story I'd love to see even another sequal about thier family life and children. I know, I'm crazy and its too much to hope for but I swear this is my favorite AU and I don't want to see it end in another 10 chapters! Anyway, Great job! I can't wait for the new chapter! I was so happy to see that you updated!

Mari

Author's Response: Lol! Sequel? Let's get this one finished before we jump to a sequel! I've been working on it for far too long and it's time to finish it. I can't even begin to fathom a sequel. In fact, I'm fairly certain that this may be my last fanfic. If I do anything in fandom, it'll most likely be short multi-chapters or one-shots, although I do have one post-Hogwarts fic started that I'd love to finsh. However, I will have to complete it before I publish. I've learned my lesson about updating as I write... it's way too difficult to keep everything straight, especially after months and even years have gone by since I began this project. I've moved on to original stuff that I'm hoping to publish for real one day when it's finished. Hopefully. As for the 10 chapters... you can be assured that they will be long ones! Thanks for reviewing and I'll see you again on Friday.

You know, Kathy, I hate waiting so long for updates for this story (I’m terribly impatient about the stories I truly love), but when you post a chapter, you give us so much. It’s always so satisfying.

Detention was not what I expected. I didn’t really expect Stephen to hang around, but, yes, he and Ginny do need to get to know one another. The Marauder portrait was inspired. I hope Harry’s honesty didn’t dampen their spirits too much. I hope Harry continues to enjoy talking to them. Stevie. Snicker.

I’m glad you had Stephen say that Ginny is Harry’s greatest strength and weakness because that is likely to be the romantic dilemma of Book 7. I know a lot of people are indignant that Harry broke up with her to protect her at the end of HBP, but Harry is in an awful spot. There is certainly some truth to the additional danger she’d be in as Harry’s girlfriend. Of course, I think the cat’s already out of the bag on that one, and she’s hardly safer as his ex/ sister of his best friend. I hope he realizes he’s stronger with her, but, if he goes it alone and goes back to her after it’s over, I’ll be ok with that as well, since, regardless of how he gets there, she will be his happy ending. I’m digressing by discussing canon, so I’ll move on after just adding that I’m glad your Harry wants to focus on enjoying his time with Ginny rather than dwelling on the what-ifs.

Shape-shifter, eh? That’s really cool. The possibilities are endless. I look forward to Harry exploring that ability.

I am, of course, intrigued by Dean’s motivations and wonder if there’s anything more to what he was doing. And what about Harry’s babbling? Unintentional side effect from holding the egg? If so, that could spell trouble for Ginny (assuming she does consent to taking it). I’m still annoyed at Dean for disparaging Macoa. Snakes can make great pets. Git.

Of course, I loved Harry and Ginny’s sofa time. They need plenty of that, and I don’t think any of your readers will object if you allow them that every chapter. Nudge, nudge. Still, I’m sure you have some less pleasant plans for them as well. After all, I caught the last line. Excellent, excellent as always.
~ Christine

Author's Response: Christine, you give the most excellent reviews and I always look forward to the things you have to say (especially the things you pick up from each chapter). You are right that things are not going to be peaceful and happy for long. Something big is coming in chapter 21 and I am just now writing the fallout. Melinda and I actually argued over the content of that chapter, just to let you know how pivitol it is... but that's enough of that! I'm not giving any more away other to say that it will send a shockwave through everyone who is invested in this story. Nice pick up on the egg, btw... ; ) I'll be looking forward to hearing what you have to say about the next few chapter, so long as you stay with me through it. Thanks for the encouragement, as always.

Good chapter. If I were Harry, I'd have told the Marauders about Wormtail's betrayal and enjoyed the show. It would be funny watching them chase Peter from painting to painting. It would also be interesting to find out if one portrait could kill another one. Obviously Ginny can't flirt with Dean because he can't keep his hands off her. They should take someone like Neville or Colin in their confidence (tell him Harry & Ginny are dating but want it to be secret) and have him pretend to be dating Ginny. Anyway, keep up the good work!

Author's Response: Yeah, I agree... that would have been funny but a bit dangerous too for everyone else in portrait land. As for Ginny flirting with Dean... I think she's learned her lesson. ; )

absolutly amazing chapter
I like the scene with the marauders, although I would have though that Harry would have had more of a reaction to Peter. But I guess he has grown a lot.
I can't wait to see the results of Harry and Ginny's conversation at the end. Does it mean that they are going to go public with their relationship, or at least not try to hide it?

Dean is a git.
Update soon.

Author's Response: Harry has grown up, both in canon and in this story. I think Sirius' death taught him to think a bit more before he jumps. As for their relationship staying hidden... you'll just have to keep reading to find out. There's a shocker coming in chapter 21... You have been warned! Thanks for reviewing. : )

Loved it ! keep em coming....i really like the whole ginny-harry parselmouth discussion, i was wondering when that would be addressed again....it is kinda like their own secret language :) again...love your stuff....and please keep writing or i might die from suspense :)

Author's Response: Thanks. I have decided to dedicate myself to this story and set a deadline for a once a week update until I finish. I can't have JKR publishing another book on me before I complete it!

I'm so happy, that was a fantastic chapter, I'm so glad harry and Gin get to spend time with each other.
why was harry talking so freely? I can't wait to find out
update soon!

Author's Response: Why was Harry talking so freely? You'll just have to guess for now... Sorry, but I'll answer that question in due time. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
