It is time for Harry to learn that there are other important things in life beside the prophecy. I hope that he finds the time to take care of Ginny, despite of his tight schedule, and to give her the strength she needs to recover. It’s his turn now, to give the gift of hope to Ginny.
Apparently, the Wizarding World is not involved in the British National Health Service. Therefore Ginny's health now depends on whether the Weasleys can accept Harry's offer.

Ginny's accident and her healing were often in my mind while reading other stories where Ginny was injured. Somehow, sometime last year, I lost track in which story that accident had occurred. Now I know it again :-)

Many thanks for another great, emotional chapter!

Author's Response: When I wrote the story, I was not very well informed about the British National Health Care system and therefore thought it was very much like the American system. However, since then, I have done my homework and while I decided to leave this story as is, I've come to think that Ginny's treatments just might be experimental so that extra funding just might be necessary to supplement what she'd ordinarily receive. As for the injured Quidditch players' fund Harry set up, I'm now thinking that he set up a general fund to be used for any student who desperately needs money to remain at Hogwarts whether it be to pay for something worthwhile. I'm glad this part of my story stuck with you and that you now know the source. I'm currently re-reading some old stories looking for a particular scene myself, so I know exactly the feeling of bewilderment about where I read it. I look forward to your next review.

Ginny was so exhausted and she sensibly did something about it before things really imploded. Would she have given something up if Mrs Chang hadn't decided to have a quiet word with her. All it took was that one question for her to break-down and that showed clearly just how ner the edge she was. Unfortunately, all that really came to naught in the light of her horendous quidditch injury. Friends of ours here in Scotland have a niece in America who, while playing soccer, tripped over her coach and became paralysed. Her subsequent intensive treatment really made me count my blessings as I read about it in weekly updates over months. Those memories really make me see Ginny's recovery as a horendous ordeal, both emotionally and physically, and I am at least relieved that Harry's generousity will mean she can get the best treatment. Hopefully "magical" treatment for these sort of injuries will be much simpler and quicker results.

Will she even be able to attempt her OWLS? I also cant imagine Harry has been able to concentrate on his extra lessons, nor Ron or Hermione. Are they going to be able to catch up. I think the main thing for Harry is that Ginny is awake. Your description of their conversation beside her bedside before she woke up showed clearly their anxiety and how it was affecting their focus on everything else. I did wonder if Ron had had a go at Harry for not using the same spell her used at the ball to stop the chandalier from dropping on all the students. You suggested at a friction between the two boys and I wondered if that was the reason? Harry's plea to Ginny about needing her and loving her was very moving and I also loved imagining his "whoop" and running footsteps as he left to spread the good news:)

Author's Response: I don't think Ginny would have continued to exhaust herself by trying to maintain that grueling schedule she was putting herself through each day. She realized that something had to give and it only took that question from Mrs Chang to nudge her in the right direction. Unfortunately, her accident is now complicating things in a different way, but as with all magical healing, the best care will get the best results in the quickest time, thus giving Ginny a new "normal"--whatever that will be. Through it all, Ginny will continue to revise for her OWLs because that's the one thing (besides Harry) that takes her mind off how she feels and keeps her from feeling too sorry for herself. To tell the truth, I don't remember whether or not there was a falling-out between Harry and Ron or not, it's been so long since I wrote the story. My instincts tell me Ron didn't blame Harry for the simple fact that none of the players were allowed to take their wands onto the pitch during the match. I'm glad you enjoyed Harry's happiness and excitement at the end of the chapter. That was a fun part to write after all the seriousness. Thanks for writing to me.

poor Ginny - being paralysed
I hope the Slytherin who broke her broom got his commupance!
I loved the commentary on that match - it was very much like Lee Jordon in the books

Author's Response: Several someones commented that the first Quidditch match in the story felt flat and uninteresting. I'm glad you liked the commentary because I did study Jordon's remarks to make my game seem more real. As for Ginny and the Slytherins, you'll just have to keep reading... Thanks for reviewing. ~Arnel

I don't know the whole ginny accident thing isn't called for the story is alright so far its getting tougher to read and I just don't see any way that this adds to the story seems to me like a last ditch effort to keep ppl into the story and keep your readers

Author's Response: There are some ideas having to do with Harry and Neville that I've always wanted to explore that show up in future chapters. Her accident is the catalyst which triggers and melds each idea into the whole. I sincerely hope you keep reading; it sounds as if you're losing interest and if that is so, I am sorry you feel that way. Thanks for giving your opinion; I appreciate your candor.

Wow! What a chapter! This was a turn I'm sure no one was expecting, but I definitely like it. Not the fact that Ginny's hurt, but it's just something different than everything else I've read. It's almost always Harry who's having to deal with some kind of severe illness or injury, and Ginny helps bring him back. It's nice to see more of Harry's soft side. I hope that the Weasleys love Ginny as much as I think they do and will able to look past their usual pride, and let Harry help pay for the proper treatment. And I totally agree with Wolfs_Scream - the Slytherins actions were very deliberate, and there most definitely should be some serious consequences. Great Job!!

Author's Response: I'm so glad you liked the chapter. Originally, I hadn't planned for Ginny to get hurt, but as chapters go, this one ended up with a mind of its own. Chapter Twelve takes care of a lot of little loose ends including the one you and Wolfs_Scream are concerned about. Due to a major rewrite on one of the sections, Chapter Twelve won't be out for a week or two since it still has to go through the beta process. However, in the long run, I think the chapter will be all the stronger for it...and so will Harry and Ginny's relationship. I'm really glad you like this side of Harry, too. It's been fun creating situations where he has to learn what it means to love and be loved. Thanks for your kind words of encouragement. They really mean a lot.

It will be interesting to find out what is more important to the Weasleys: Their pride or Ginny.

Author's Response: You'll just have to wait and see. Chapter Twelve is with my betas now and should be up within the month. Thanks for your review.

Ah, well done! And that was quite a Quidditch game. But it does seem that Ginny was hurt because of deliberate actions by the Slytherins; it would seem that part of the education they need might involve accepting responsibility for their actions -- even if that involves the families of the Slytherins paying for Ginny's treatment. Still, it's handy that Harry's got the ability & will to help her.

[I had been following the story over on the Sugar Quill, but it looks as if you updated here before there, so....]

Author's Response: Thank you for your review. I'm really glad that you decided to review here because now I can respond to you publicly. I'm glad you liked the Quidditch game. It was the hardest part of the chapter to write and I think it went through at least a dozen versions before I was completely satisfied with it. As for your comment about the Slytherins, there's a section in Chapter 12 where this will be addressed and I'm really glad you brought them to my attention. I think in the hubbub of making sure names and positions and other mundane details were correct, I completely forgot to lay the blame where it's due and to therefore assign the appropriate administrative action to it. I look forward to your next review.
