The way Ginny helped during the battle was impressive. Perhaps she finds pleasure in the profession of healer. I'd like that better than Quidditch star. Nothing against Quidditch, but I don't like the circumstances of that profession.
The 'mind talk' thing between Ginny and Harry is still a puzzle for me. I thought that it might be connected to the necklaces. However, they could still talk even after Ginny had taken the necklace from Harry. Hence, there must be another explanation...

Author's Response: Ginny has never been a coward and it really rankled when Harry wanted her to hide. However, she found the little niche where she could be supportive and useful to her friends and classmates. At this point, I don't think she's thinking about a career, just about how best she can help during the battle. As for the bond between Harry and Ginny, it did start with the necklaces, but because the two were so receptive to the "mind talk" it became second nature to them, even after she takes the necklace off Harry. You see, the bond is powered by their love for each other and because that love is so strong, the bond between them grows ever stronger. Does that make sense? Thanks for reading.

The fact that some of l the healing being done went over my head didn't dent my enjoyment of it one bit! Made it sound VERY professional. Rest assured there's not been a single bit of your story that has felt like "wading" ...it's ALL been incredibly entertaining and a delight to read:))

Author's Response: It's good to know that the anatamy terms didn't feel like wading. My aim was to replicate a teaching situation so that Ginny, Ron and Hermione would learn something (I'm not sure if Harry did in the condition he was in at the time). The chapters are winding down on this story. I look forward to what you have to say about them before you start reading Summer Story, the last in the trilogy.

Ginny DID do an amazing job of creating the safe house, coping with the wounded and keeping track of who was there or had been and then gone back out. It was nice, and appropriate, that so many of the students were cheered by the student body and also a pleasant surprise that the majority of slytherin joined in.

When ginny put the phoenix back on Harry it reminded me that they communicated re not giving away the honeydukes tunnel (I wonder if the owners know?) and Harry wasnt wearing his chain. Does that mean they can communicate without them? Or did they never need them to communicate?

The explanation of the treatment by the healers was full of detail (a lot over my head!) and I'm sure that was one of the things you researched to make your stories the high standard they are:)

Author's Response: A lot of what Ginny did was common sense. Since Mr Filch had a list of who went to Hogsmead, Ginny making one of those who appeared and stayed or left the safe house made the most sense to her. And later, it also made sense that anyone who had been to the safe house, and appreciated its being there for whatever reason, would show their appreciation, no matter what house they're from. At this point in time, I'm going to assume that the Honeydukes owners do not know of the existance of the passage to Hogwarts, mostly because nothing was said about Ginny's knowledge of it. To address the mental telepathy issue, Harry and Ginny needed their necklaces to communicate at first, but as their bond grew stronger, they no longer needed them as much. Oh, you're right about how much research I did to make the healers' explanation of Harry's treatment seem real. If you go to a standard anatomy book (or on line) you'll find most of what you're looking for so that you can understand what was being talked about. I'm sorry to have used so much "jargon" that I confused or befuddled you. Thanks for wading through that scene and for writing to me. I look forward to your next review.

I love the thoughts between Harry and Ginny - an interesting method
it's nice to read a story where some Slytherins are actually human and have some feelings - it's a pity Malfoy isn't like that

Author's Response: The mind link between Harry and Ginny has grown gradually for me as the story progresses, in the same way that learning to use magic comes to first years: the more they use it, the stronger it becomes. I've always thought that not every Slytherin has to be like Malfoy. Kingsley Shacklebolt is a good example and I've always wondered if the Sorting Hat ever misplaced someone. There's always hope that there will be someone to break the mold and show the positive side of a situation or majority opinion. Thanks for your review.

Another wonderfully long chapter.

The way that Ginny and the students taking shelter in Honeydukes first protect their shelter and then camoflage it was a neat idea, and how Herione must love the fact that someone amongst her friends, and a Weasley at that, has finally read a least a part of her favourite book :-)

I found it very surprising that Harry would tell Ginny to have Ron put Harry's wand away in Harry's trunk. I would think that Harry's training and instincts would mean having his wand with him at all times...after all, Constant Vigilance!

The scene when Mrs. Weasley didn't know who to hug first was funny but then became poignant with Harry's statement that he had his family with him...Bless the Weasley's!

I so enjoyed the scene where Ginny and the others were being cheered as they entered the Great Hall and Neville's innocent pleasure at receiving, finally, a well deserved accolade.

While the look at magical healing was quite interesting, itwas the interaction between Harry and Ginny that I enjoyed the most. Looking forward to the next chapter.

BTW, have you had any luck with getting the missing portion of Chapter 10 restored? Since I got in touch with you about it just before the tech fracas here at SIYE, I wondered if the problem had gotten caught up in the confusion.

Author's Response: First off, the problem with Chapter 10 has been fixed and you can now finish the Valentine's Ball! I'm always glad when readers like my long chapters. I talked about common sense in my response to your Chapter 15 review and I'll take the time to do it here as well. As highly trained as Harry, Ron and Hermione are, we must remember that they are not adults and are not even fully-qualified wizards/witches at that, so, being young, they, like we, are sometimes prone to lapses in judgement. In Harry's situation, he's got it double-whammy: he's tired and badly hurt and when he discovers that he's been taken to a safe place he surrenders. As I wrote the chapter I put myself in his place: having discovered he is among friends he gives up the fight and puts his trust in his friends to keep him and his wand safe from harm. Also, in my research for this and the previous chapters, I learned that sometime pain can be so overwhelming that all good judgement goes out the window...and that's what happened to Harry...and I really don't blame him! The scenes I most enjoyed writing are the ones you've cited; Molly Weasley wants to mother everyone and sometimes just has a hard time knowing whom to mother first and Neville *really* needed some positive recognition. Just so you know, I've posted Chapter Seventeen and hopefully, it will be validated very soon. I'm looking forward to your next review.

Quite good. Several excellent touches, such as camouflaging Honeydukes so its lack of burn damage isn't as apparent. I particularly enjoyed the interactions among the characters. The reaction of the owners of Honeydukes was good, too. And Harry should be OK after all this. (Pity a Repearo spell doesn't work for bones -- the bone fragments in the muscle would seem to hurt a lot.)

Author's Response: Thank you for taking the time to review my chapter. I appreciate your kind words and you letting me know which parts were the most interesting to you. When I was researching shoulder injuries I took my time to make sure that what I was doing to Harry would be reasonably reparable, especially if magic was part of the equasion. I, too, like Ginny's interaction with the owners of Honeydukes; it was easy for me to put myself in their situation and find the right words to show their gratitude. I look forward to reading your review for Part Seventeen.

well im glad that they have harry back to gether and of corse harry would screw it up more to keep fighting instead of getting it fixed....kutgw

Author's Response: Persevering doggedly through pain and danger seems to be Harry's stubborn lot in life, so of course he was not going to let Ginny fix him up or keep him away from the battle. So...all Madam Pomfrey and the other healers can do is patch Harry up for another day, another battle. Thanks for reviewing.
