Reviews For Ancient Magic

For most of the series, he can't get rid of her fast enough. Ignoring her first year, telling her to go away second year. I think the line that really bothered me was when Ron 'put Harry in his place'. Its like Harry is doing something wrong in trying to have a relationship. Ron wants to act like the injured party here when quite honestly, Harry and Ginny's relationship has nothing to do with him. He gets into a snit and everyone has to sooth his hurt feelings. He needs to get over himself. Reviewer: sugarquills23 Anonymous Date: 2005.03.05 - 09:49PM Title: Bonds I am totally drawn to this story. I have been reading it chapter after chapter all night.
I think the way that you addressed Ron and Harry dealing with the Ginny issue is very realistic. Ron was hurt more than angry because in all actuality...he had been hoping they'd get together someday. I think it was a bit step in maturity for Ron to go the high rode.
By the way...I love the interactions between Ron and Ginny. I always think of them sharing a special bond and being very close. Ron's protective of his baby sister and loves her very much...very sweet.
Great job!! Reviewer: wvchemteach Signed Date: 2005.02.24 - 08:03PM Title: Bonds Interesting that Malfoy, Sr. attributes Harry's success and Draco's failure to something other than pure talent vs. non-talent.
I like how a more mature Harry was able to focus on the match rather than Borgin and Lucious...I think Books 6 and 7 will be about Harry growing up and maturing...not staying as angry prat!Harry.
Typical Malfoy...using his informaiton to stir the pot...however...it also demonstrated his own shortcoming...rather than wait for a chance to 'exploit' knowledge of Harry and Ginny being together he used out of spite because he is a spoiled brat and sore loser.
Interesting that Borgin is keeping his alliegiecnes up in the air.
I like how Ginny explained she and Harry keeping their relationship a secret in a way that would hit home for Ron. I have to say she 'impressed' me with her maturity there.
I also see a sign of Ron maturing...he didn't apologize...but unlike GoF he didn't try to ignore his being a prat either and made an effort to reach out to Harry.
All in all I think so far you have an amazing grasp upon the characters. Keep up the good work. Reviewer: Lourdes Anonymous Date: 2005.02.18 - 10:00PM Title: Bonds Poor Nathan. Being put in the same position as Snape except that Nathan is kinder and benign while Snape had grown sour. Finally, love is out in the open. Now, let us see how powerful this will prove to be, Reviewer: destin4fl Anonymous Date: 2005.02.16 - 04:44PM Title: Bonds man i really dig this story! it is very deep while still keeping it fun. i really like the way you keep the new professor something of an egnigima(sp?) great job, looking forward to new chapters! I liked Ron telling Harry not to hurt his sister, but I wished he'd kept it at that. I think it's entirely possible that one of the Weasleys might get hurt because of thier affiliation with Harry, but that isn't Harry's fault. I was so excited to see your update - and it didn't dissappoint. Wonderful chapter - great interaction between Harry and Ron. Reviewer: Tron Anonymous Date: 2005.02.16 - 07:32AM Title: Bonds Thanks for another great chapter!
I just love how Harry always beats Malfoy to the snitch. That is one area Malfoy's father can't buy for him - pure talent!
I'm happy that it appears that Nathan is working for Dumbledore. However, will Harry believe that he is? Will Harry not trust Nathan when the time comes? Will it pay for Harry to trust him? Ugh! All of these questions swarming around. The possibilities are endless! Well done on laying the foundation for the intrigue.
Nice brother/sister moment when Ginny and Ron had their heart-to-heart.
Please update soon. Reviewer: HappyAsLarry Anonymous Date: 2005.02.16 - 06:13AM Title: Bonds Aw heck - I started off reading your latest installment and ended up going back to read the whole thing from the start. Great stuff as always - you've got Ginny off to a T. Keep it rolling. Reviewer: Wild Magelet Signed Date: 2005.02.16 - 05:13AM Title: Bonds So good. I've been sitting here reading this for the last hour or so, and it's great. Very intriguing, very well written and not too rushed. I especially liked "those manly, back slapping hugs" in this chapter. Men. Honestly. They're so ludicrously simple, aren't they? =P Everything said with a slap on the back. Wonderful fic. | |||||||
