However, reading your request for thoughts on how you tied the trip to Askaban, Nathan's background, and his retained ability to be a professor under Dumbledore, I think your contrivance was brilliant ... Dark enough to be believable that he would be sentenced to an island vacation in the North Sea, yet not bad enough to render him irredeemable in the eyes of the very forgiving Dumbledore. Kudos! A little odd but it could be belivable :) Reviewer: Tindual Signed Date: 2010.12.25 - 06:37AM Title: Late Night Revelations This was a good chapter, definately believable as you mentioned the deep pockets used to keep thongs hush hush. I have to admit that I am definitely enjoying this story more than I thought I would. Thank you for sharing! Reviewer: YelloWitchGrl Signed Date: 2005.05.08 - 08:29PM Title: Late Night Revelations Okay, so you asked... I think it is believable but now (although I understand that landing him in Azkaban would make Harry want to question him) I kinda want to know if it goes deeper than that. Reviewer: Rocky235 Anonymous Date: 2005.03.29 - 02:28PM Title: Late Night Revelations The Borgin tale was spot on. You didn't over or under play it. I think Harry could/should just walk away from Borgin though. He needs to feel in control of his life, some. (I must be addle minded for talking about what should be in a story that's already done. lol) Reviewer: sugarquills23 Anonymous Date: 2005.03.05 - 10:11PM Title: Late Night Revelations I thought that your idea for Borgin's Azkaban stay was very plausible. Sounds a bit familar...Barty Crouch Sr. turned his back on Barty Jr. at the Wizengamot as well. That's not a negative, just an observation.
I love the support that Ginny offers Harry. She's there just when he needs her...just the way I think she would be if JK evers sees fit to allow them to find each other over the next two books. Here's hoping.
I understand harry's tenative nature when it comes to Brogin. Trust is an issue that Harry has always had issues with in some ways I think, and the new DADA professor is giving plenty of reasons to question his loyalties.
Good work developing an interesting and twisted plot of 'Potterdom'...not really a word, I know. Reviewer: wvchemteach Signed Date: 2005.02.24 - 08:09PM Title: Late Night Revelations I like Ron's epiphany while watching Harry and Ginny...they are 'good' for one another.
I'm not sure if the Weasley brothers would be perceptive enough to pick up on Harry's attraction to Ginny...but I could definately see them having a betting pool on Ron.
Interesting bit of dirt they have dug up on Borgin. The question remains...is he friend or foe?
Wonderful interaction between Harry and Ginny...she so 'reads' him.
Ok...while Borgin seems on the up and up...so does Snape most of the time..and he's a slimy git that I don't trust. I'm still not convinced Borgin isn't playing both sides against the middle.
Wouldn't be wonderful if Rowling does something similar to the couch scene in the common room? Whether Harry realizes it or not he's becoming dependent on Ginny...just might want to show more of her becomeing dependent on him...can't have this all be one-sided.
The plot thickens the mysteries stir. You have me 'hooked'. Reviewer: HappyAsLarry Anonymous Date: 2005.02.19 - 09:51AM Title: Late Night Revelations Super background story for Nathan. Secret clubs and boarding schools go hand in hand. Perfect circumstances for all manner of nefarious goings on - callow youth, redemption etc. This could easily be a canon version of Snapey's back story! As always, the Harry/Gin mush is perfect. The hair combing thing is quite catlike in a way, almost as if she were grooming Harry to sleep. Many thanks - keep them coming. Reviewer: Lourdes Anonymous Date: 2005.02.18 - 10:18PM Title: Late Night Revelations This chapter cleared up things about Nathan and it is a good sign. Harry needs all the support he can get. Question: Does any of the characters apart from Harry and Dumbledore know about the actual prophecy? Reviewer: Melindaleo Anonymous Date: 2005.02.18 - 07:22PM Title: Late Night Revelations Wow. Nice work. I think Borgin's story is fascinating and very plausible. I loved how Ginny offered quiet comfort there at the end. Very, very nice.
My favorite part of the chapter, however, was the idea of Mrs. Weasley starting the pool on when Harry and Ginny would get together. What a hoot! I loved Bill's reaction. Reviewer: destin4fl Anonymous Date: 2005.02.18 - 03:31PM Title: Late Night Revelations wow! i really like the depth of borgin's past you really fleshed this character out very well! love the interaction between h/g and how ginny's family is taking the news.;-) Reviewer: Ima Quidditch Fan Anonymous Date: 2005.02.18 - 02:39PM Title: Late Night Revelations Bring on the Harry/Ginny goodness!
I think that the Azkaban sentence was fitting and this brought a great deal of empathy for those in Slytherin like Knott.
Being raised to prejudge and achieve only to see another side to the story. Also it was very moving to hear about a father throwing his son to the wolves as it were - a harsh wake up call. I wonder if Snape's experience is similar to this...
Well done! Reviewer: Tron Anonymous Date: 2005.02.18 - 02:07PM Title: Late Night Revelations I think the reason for Borgin's return is very plausible. What the group was doing was considered Dark Arts. Borgin was "sold down the river" and left to face the consequences alone. I can understand why he would be loyal to Dumbledore for helping him out of a very tight spot.
Thank goodness that Harry has Ginny to help him carry the burden even if it does come down to Harry vs Voldemort.
Please update soon, I really am enjoying this story. | |||||||
