I know I'm years late to this party and this is not my first time to read this wonderful story and it's sequel. However, reading your request for thoughts on how you tied the trip to Askaban, Nathan's background, and his retained ability to be a professor under Dumbledore, I think your contrivance was brilliant ... Dark enough to be believable that he would be sentenced to an island vacation in the North Sea, yet not bad enough to render him irredeemable in the eyes of the very forgiving Dumbledore. Kudos!

I thought your idea and tieing it all in was greatly done. A little odd but it could be belivable :)

This was a good chapter, definately believable as you mentioned the deep pockets used to keep thongs hush hush. I have to admit that I am definitely enjoying this story more than I thought I would. Thank you for sharing!

Okay, so you asked... I think it is believable but now (although I understand that landing him in Azkaban would make Harry want to question him) I kinda want to know if it goes deeper than that.

Author's Response: Thanks - Nathan came clean. For now :) You'll have to read the sequel to find out more...

The Borgin tale was spot on. You didn't over or under play it. I think Harry could/should just walk away from Borgin though. He needs to feel in control of his life, some. (I must be addle minded for talking about what should be in a story that's already done. lol)

I thought that your idea for Borgin's Azkaban stay was very plausible. Sounds a bit familar...Barty Crouch Sr. turned his back on Barty Jr. at the Wizengamot as well. That's not a negative, just an observation. I love the support that Ginny offers Harry. She's there just when he needs her...just the way I think she would be if JK evers sees fit to allow them to find each other over the next two books. Here's hoping. I understand harry's tenative nature when it comes to Brogin. Trust is an issue that Harry has always had issues with in some ways I think, and the new DADA professor is giving plenty of reasons to question his loyalties. Good work developing an interesting and twisted plot of 'Potterdom'...not really a word, I know.

Author's Response: Potterdom! I love it! I hope JKR does find it fit to let H&G find each other. Who else would put up with Harry besides Ginny? :)

I like Ron's epiphany while watching Harry and Ginny...they are 'good' for one another. I'm not sure if the Weasley brothers would be perceptive enough to pick up on Harry's attraction to Ginny...but I could definately see them having a betting pool on Ron. Interesting bit of dirt they have dug up on Borgin. The question remains...is he friend or foe? Wonderful interaction between Harry and Ginny...she so 'reads' him. Ok...while Borgin seems on the up and up...so does Snape most of the time..and he's a slimy git that I don't trust. I'm still not convinced Borgin isn't playing both sides against the middle. Wouldn't be wonderful if Rowling does something similar to the couch scene in the common room? Whether Harry realizes it or not he's becoming dependent on Ginny...just might want to show more of her becomeing dependent on him...can't have this all be one-sided. The plot thickens the mysteries stir. You have me 'hooked'.

Author's Response: Ahhhh...I'm doing my job if you're still guessing! And her becoming more dependent on him...I like it, although she has been so gone on Harry for so long. I wanted to avoid any instances where Harry felt stupid for not noticing sooner or Ginny felt relieved that it finally happened. That I think would have discredited the relationship and the characters. These things happen when they happen. Harry needs to be dependent on Ginny - I think it will make him stronger. Thanks!

Super background story for Nathan. Secret clubs and boarding schools go hand in hand. Perfect circumstances for all manner of nefarious goings on - callow youth, redemption etc. This could easily be a canon version of Snapey's back story! As always, the Harry/Gin mush is perfect. The hair combing thing is quite catlike in a way, almost as if she were grooming Harry to sleep. Many thanks - keep them coming.

Author's Response: LOL - Ginny as a cat! Hadn't thought of it that way but it is true! A redhead with claws... Glad you're enjoying it!

This chapter cleared up things about Nathan and it is a good sign. Harry needs all the support he can get. Question: Does any of the characters apart from Harry and Dumbledore know about the actual prophecy?

Author's Response: Funny you ask that - I had to go back and check. I had mentioned it in the second chapter when Ginny and Harry are star gazing but it didn't make the final cut. My assumption was when Ginny comments about babbling on and look at "all that you have to face", readers would get that by now, the Prophecy to Harry's friends was old news. Good question! I might have to stick that line back in there if it raises more issues! Thank you!

Wow. Nice work. I think Borgin's story is fascinating and very plausible. I loved how Ginny offered quiet comfort there at the end. Very, very nice. My favorite part of the chapter, however, was the idea of Mrs. Weasley starting the pool on when Harry and Ginny would get together. What a hoot! I loved Bill's reaction.

Author's Response: Thank you very much! I'm glad to hear you think Borgin's past made sense - it was tough to write something that readers wouldn't go, "Uh, no!" at! And yes - the pool. It just seemed very Weasley - supportive, knowing and fun! Thank you! I'm still chucking about Harry being just like Dumbledore from CofD - how obvious yet how subtle!

wow! i really like the depth of borgin's past you really fleshed this character out very well! love the interaction between h/g and how ginny's family is taking the news.;-)

Author's Response: Thanks! The more I know about Borgin, the more I like him, too. :) And of course the Weasley's would be happy - happy to rib the happy couple!

Bring on the Harry/Ginny goodness! I think that the Azkaban sentence was fitting and this brought a great deal of empathy for those in Slytherin like Knott. Being raised to prejudge and achieve only to see another side to the story. Also it was very moving to hear about a father throwing his son to the wolves as it were - a harsh wake up call. I wonder if Snape's experience is similar to this... Well done!

Author's Response: Oooo...hadn't thought about Snape. See, this is why I love reviews! It just keeps me thinking! Thank you so much for the feedback! H/G goodness to come!

I think the reason for Borgin's return is very plausible. What the group was doing was considered Dark Arts. Borgin was "sold down the river" and left to face the consequences alone. I can understand why he would be loyal to Dumbledore for helping him out of a very tight spot. Thank goodness that Harry has Ginny to help him carry the burden even if it does come down to Harry vs Voldemort. Please update soon, I really am enjoying this story.

Author's Response: Woohoo!!! You have no idea - I had poor Nathan doing everything from killing his mother (don't ask!) to being a Death Eater! It was awful! But in the end, his story fits in very well with what's about to happen. Thanks for sticking with it and for the thumbs up!
