I loved Harry's response to Draco taking 5 points from Gryffindor...very funny and kind of nice to see Harry step out of his awkwardness a bit.
I also thought it was sweet that he wanted to formally ask Ginny to the dinner. Nice touch showing Ron being daft about asking Hermione too. :)
I know this is a Harry and Ginny fic. but I love the Ron and Hermione ship too so it's nice to see a glimpse of their relationship as well.
Ahhh...there's an addendum to the book...very nice twist.
Love the story so far. Good work.
Author's Response: Thanks! I could see Harry stepping out of character a bit - Draco knows how to push his buttons and Ginny gives him the confidence to do it. Glad you loved it! And while H&G will always be my favorite, I find the idea of Ron and Hermione fascinating - such different people so perfect for each other.

Nice way Ginny handled Harry...she pushes him with just the right amount of force and then provides comfort.
I loved Harry's frustration with trying to ask Ginny to the dance along with Ginny's obliviousness to it all until Ron points it out to her. I also liked that Harry didn't go into full-fledged brood mode.
The kiss may have been a 'bit' extreme for Harry...but then again I would 'chalk' it up to the lightening of his soul that Ginny does for him. Personally, I think Harry due to his lack of physical affection as a child will 'crave' physical contact with Ginny...even such mundane things as holding her hand, running his fingers through her hair...or just brushing up against her.
I'm completely wanting to know what the elder Borgin found and is sending to the younger.
This story is getting better and better...how long is this slated to be? Is it 6th year only or will it extend into the summer or 7th year?
Author's Response: Yes, Harry is awed by that physical connection. Part of that I'm sure is due to being a 16 year old boy. :) Part of it, though, I agree, is that he needs Ginny to allow himself to soak up that peace. Of course, I believe Ginny needs to mother him some - she's too much like her mum not to. Not to mention, with six older brothers, I think she'd have a good handle on how men handle stress differently than women and that she can't pressure a man to talk until he's ready.
As far as how long...it ends at the end of 6th year (I just received the last chapter back from my Beta so I can say that with assurance.) Of course, though, I managed to write myself into sequel territory. So, if the feedback says more, I'm happy to continue and in fact have started down that path.

I loved Harry making it worth it. I also thought it was great when Hermione was tapping her foot waiting for Ron to realize how sweet Harry was and to follow his example.
With Voldemort's plan and the books and everything, I'm really intrested in what's going to happen. Can't wait until your next update.

Well done! I think this chapter was just right.
As far as Harry being bold, I think he is really bold in some areas. How many students are so eager to help Hagrid with his animals? I would like to think that kissing Ginny in public the way he did would be spontaneous and something that very well could happen. It's not something he planned to do - but did not back down from doing it.
Harry really should have checked that book over considering the fetish the Malfoy's seem to have with books. Also, it could be that now Draco knows a way to contact Ginny with a poem and she would really think it was from Harry and show up.

Author's Response: Thanks! I think if Harry had actually thought about kissing Ginny in public, he would have never gone through with it. But Malfoy can egg him on like no other. That coupled with the boost of love...well, we all have done a few crazy things because of love, eh? Glad you liked it!

Fun chapter. I loved Harry's frustration in trying to ask Ginny to the dance, but I loved the effort he was making to do it. Normally I would thik it was very our of character...but Malfoy always has a way of provoking Harry and I loved that scene. Harry had shown he has some cheek and a biting sense of humor. This was good.
Oh, no about Lucius knowing about Ginny though. And Malfoy giving Harry his drooped book reminded me of CoS and Lucius slipping Ginny the diary.
Author's Response: Thank you! I went back and forth over using a book because I was afraid it was too much like CoS. But in the end, the background story (which comes up next chapter) fit so well with other characters that I left it as is. Glad to hear the frustration showed through!

Seeing that it is his 7th year, yes, Harry being bold, is acceptable. But, on the flip side, Harry hates being in the centre of attention and after years of controlling his emotions, especially when in terrble physicla, mental and emotional pain at the Dursleys, I think that being bold at 17 could be a problem. However, if you have mentioned that since his involvement with Ginny, her love has given him "some" confindence and this, coupled with Harry's growing powers, could possibly have embolden him. This chapter really is a part of the last in that it is paving the way for Ginny's kidnap or at least, an attack on the 4 friends that could result with possible kidnap but foiled. Well done.
