*nods* That makes sense.. I suspect it would probably be fairly standard practice to put anti-apparation wards around tombs when they are sealed. My comment was mostly on the logic of the statement in question, that Merlin would have been able to apparate out while he was alive if those specific wards weren't there. This has got to be one of the very best fanfictions I've ever read. Plotting, characterisation - both of canon and original characters - pacing and dialogue are all virtually flawless. I've certainly never read a fanfiction where the original characters live and breathe in the same way as the canon characters, whilst still remaining true to the feel of JKR's world. I don't mean to diminish your fanfictions in any way, but have you ever written any original fiction? If so you ought to try and get it published, as your writing is better than a lot I've read in print. If not, don't start until you've finished this fanfiction as I'm hooked! "Rat," Ginny repeated.
"Don't worry, you'll get used to it," Anna assured her, kicking the skeletal remains of the rodent to the side.
"The twins put worse under my blankets," Ginny replied.
Anna blinked at her. "Really? I never had a sibling. Always thought I wanted one,"
*snickers* I love that exchange. :-)
Wow... I must say thank you for leaving us with this chapter, nice and long, and action packed.. gives us something to nicely tide us over until you can post again. :-)
Loved Mr Tibbles POV, and Molly's reaction. :-)
Also loved the tomb raiding scene, It's good to see Harry and Ginny getting some first hand experience.
"Go! We have to get out of here. We can't Disapparate from in here, otherwise Merlin would have." - This looks like faulty logic to me, Merlin was confined by an entrapment charm, they are not.
Finally I have to say I loved the battle sequence, very nicely done, :-) Reviewer: phaicy Anonymous Date: 2005.11.19 - 01:06AM Title: The Tomb thank god someone killed the molfoys and lestranges... but how are we going to have some competition ???? Reviewer: oscar Anonymous Date: 2005.11.18 - 07:57PM Title: The Tomb nice additions!! i can't wait for the rest!! limit would be a quantity known as "epsilon" -- a
measure of experimental error.) In any case, it seems that
Lucius had a fairly quick, clean death, which is rather a
better fate than he deserves. I'm a little surprised that
Tonks didn't refer to Narcissa as "Aunt Narcissa;" then again, I
suppose she'd not be especially keen to remind folks of the
kinship.
Let's see... the Good Guys still need to unseal the tomb and get
out. I'm relieved that they seem OK.
What about Moony, though?
Hmm... wonder how long it will be before Snake-Face Tom realizes
what happened to this cadre of DEs? And I wonder if this is
something Lucius did on his own, or whether he briefed Tom on
his plan beforehand? (I'd guess the former, though I'm not sure
how he'd persuade Mad Bella to join him -- the others strike me
as folks who would likely follow Lucius just because he said so.)
In any case, I doubt Tom will be pleased, and he generally
expresses his displeasure. I suspect some folks may well envy
Lucius' quick passage from the land of the living.
All in all, very well done (despite a few bits of aberrant
spelling -- wasn't sure that pointing them out would be wanted). Reviewer: fritz42 Signed Date: 2005.11.18 - 06:39PM Title: The Tomb Good riddance, Lucius! We can only hope that something like that happens in Book 7. What an action-packed chapter. I couldn't read it fast enough. Loved the whole fight scene in the tomb. Loved all the spells that you use. Once again, can't wait for the next chapter. Reviewer: Xfactor Anonymous Date: 2005.11.18 - 09:13AM Title: The Tomb Great chapter. The battle scenes are perfect, as well as everything else. Keep up the great work. You have a heck of a team there. Reviewer: PatronyBologna Signed Date: 2005.11.17 - 02:40PM Title: The Tomb Dead? Malfoy dead? Oh happy day! There will be much rejoicing!! lol (Glad that it wasn't exactly at the hands of Nathan... I like him to much for him to fire off an Unforgivable.) First off, I loved Mr. Tibbles point of view, the opening scene of the chapter. Although, I have to say that I wanted to read through it as fast as possible to get to the 'good' stuff, but with that said, I still loved it. Dumbledore and Frienze, you just wanted to mess with us again, just so we'd have something to chew on besides turkey! The tomb scenes were suffeciently damp, musky, and the dirty gross one would expect. Poor Anna, I hope her and the baby are okay, I couldn't imagine being preggers and running around like that! What on earth did Bill do to Narcissa? I could guess, but... (remembering that my Divination skills are less than par.) Overall the suspense was well done and laced with bit of humor from the crew. Glad we got to see a bit of Molly, Ron, Hermione, and that the Twins were mentioned. Here's hoping that we won't be toasting with Alka-Seltzer! Cheers, ~Patrony :) | |||||||
