Nice story! I got into it the other day and was hooked. If you are wondering why I've never read before, I've got my own book 6 which I was writing and I didn't want to be influenced by anyone elses work. ;-) I had to laugh when I saw your update notes. I recently posted to mine after three or four years, too! Hang in there - this is definitely a story worth finishing.

Thank you so much for continuing this story! I remember pulling an all-nighter to read it and then feeling sad I might never see the ending. It's one of my all-time favorites, it's very rare to find fanfics with character interaction this realistic and alive. I'm looking forward to seeing the conclusion, even if I have to wait for another five years. :)

Author's Response: I didn't want to kill Lisa either! Unfortunately, that was planned from chapter one, not too make any difference for Harry/Ginny, but to show the path they've both traveled. Glad you like the story!

Um, so five years would explain why I don't even remember this story and thus had to go back and reread the majority of it. Well worth it though, because it was still brilliant the second time around. I'm glad you finally updated, and that you hopefully plan on updating till the end, because I'm really enjoying it. And kudos to you, I haven't updated my short story in about 5 years either...but I think mine might be done for good. Anyways, thanks for the update! :]

It is really awesome that you decided to come back and finish this. I remember reading it when the other chapters were coming out new, and really enjoying it, and I'm glad to see it isn't going to go down as one more promising fic consigned to the dustbin of unfinished history. Going back and re-reading the earlier chapters again, there were several scenes that immediately jumped out at me as "Oh yeah, I remember that!" Like Harry's hilariously lame "Reasons I don't fancy Ginny" list, for instance. :D Anyway, great chapter, glad to see you back, and looking forward to the wrap-up!

Well, when I started reading this story yesterday, I kept wondering how similar it was to the one i had read long time back and was thinking why the author has not put up an acknowledgement in the AN section.
When I realized at the end of the 8th chapter, it was the same story in the first place!!
What a pleasant surprise it was to see you continue this fantastic story!
Can't wait to see what happens next!

Author's Response: Seriously, it's shameful, but I had to go back and read it myself. There were so many threads that I dropped and had to find again in order to write these last couple of chapters; but as I told someone, a lot of my plans changed. Originally Harry was in the tunnel alone and after five years, my brain went ahead and added Dean and Seamus and it made all the difference.
To think I wasn't sure I'd get any reviews after so much time and then I get a gem like this; thank you so much.

Words cannot begin to describe how happy I was to see this update today. This has been one of my top stories since I joined this site years and years ago. The nuanced way you began Harry and Ginny's connection truly foreshadowed the way they would come together in the books. Your fight scene between the Ginny and Harry is one of the most passionate and well written thing I have ever read on this board or in books.
I very much enjoyed this part as well as the excuse to re-read this story from the beginning. I was especially happy to finally get a finale to the cliffhanger that has left me wanting for the past five years. This was a sad conclusion, but re-reading it, I had the feeling that Lisa could potentially be doomed if only for causing tension between the H/G relationship I have been waiting for.
I really can't get over how real this story is. How Harry and Ginny have to ease into each other is very touching and honest- relationships don't just happen and it does take practice and communication. This was beautiful and I look forward to the conclusion of this story as well as your return to this board. I re-read all of your stories constantly and find them some of the best writing there is on this board. Your characters come alive and your presentation of Ginny as a force to be reckoned with is beautiful. I also love your Ron who sticks up for his sister and is more intuitive than he usually gets credit for in fanfiction.
Again, beautiful. Please don't be a stranger.
Author's Response: Thank you so, so much for this. The above review tried to take the wind out of my sails, but I'm truly glad that this story has been enjoyed by others, and with such kind words, too.
In regard to Lisa, she was only briefly there for tension, but in the end that wasn't her purpose, as I hope you see Harry finally put together in chapter 17; rather, she was someone Harry came to know and appreciate because being friends with Ginny first made all the difference. I tried to write a way where she didn't meet her end, but it had been planned from the beginning, not to to form another obstacle, but to show how Harry's changed in all this.
Thank you for the compliment on the characters and relationships; it took a long, long time to finish this up and I'm glad it's still being read by people who enjoy it.

Wow! Welcome back! I had marked this story up as one of those really great stories and just would not get finished. I am so glad that you have updated the story, and in such a great way. It was great to see Harry and Dean both working together through their feelings for Ginny.
The loss of Lisa and Harry's reaction to her loss was so very well done. Couple that with the clarity that Harry shows in expressing his feelings for Ginny and it was a powerful scene.
And the ending...it was one of the best. I really hope that you are able to update soon. Thank you again for a wonderful chapter!
