hmm.. didn't Harry learn about the unbreakable vow when he overheard Malfoy and Snape talking about it in his sixth year?
This story reminds me of your other work in the way that it seems that the only one in this story that doesn't have a freeking clue is Harry. It's like his learning curve has stopped when the others are still going forward. Hermione is her brilliant self as usual, Ron's suddenly become a "very dangerous man" without Harry noticing, Ginny seems to be her ususal perfect self and has the answer to pretty much everything and Neville fought him to a standstill.. way to go Harry, Why hasn't Harry tried to learn occlumency for example.. that was the second time it has been made painfully obvious to him that without it, he can't win in a fight against a skilled enemy. One would think that he'd learn from his own mistakes, but no. Or are you planning to have him beat Voldie with love only? Ginny and Harry going to connect somehow into one asskicking being? I was hoping that you would keep this story in somewhat normal individual powerlevels.. and keep them as individuals..
And what's up with the mirror thing? It basicly told him that "I only tell the truth", and what do you know, the only known description about Gryffindors mirror is that it tells the truth and he still can't make the connection. It feels like you've just needed a way to prolong the horcrux hunt.. that othewise it would seem too easy for him but doing so you've made him a bit dim.

I wanted to add something to my last post. I have been reading fan fic in this fandom for a little while now and I have not seen one author come close to writing the characters in character (when it comes to JKR's style) except for you. This is marvelous work. I can't wait for an update!

Wow,,,, I love the way you wrote the scene at the end of this chapter. :-)
I also love the way harry and Ginny are both borrowing books and for the same reason...
nice to get the story behind the cordless extendables too. :-)
though I must say one of Harry's statements to Slughorn didn't really ring true for me.
"I destroyed one myself, Professor, quite by accident during my second year. "
I would never have called that an accident... he destroyed it quite deliberately... While its true that he didn't know it for what it was, that doesn't make its destruction an accident.
Author's Response: Yes, well, Harry didn't realize at the time that the diary was a Horcrux - so he destroyed the Horcrux by accident. He destroyed the diary quite intentionally. Sorry for any confusion! Thanks for reading!

The thought of Harry dying "organized" was, indeed, amusing. :-}
The conversation about "Windows" was fairly weird to me. But
then, I don't use Microsoft stuff. (I run FreeBSD on most x86
boxen, including my laptop.) But then, I'm not sure Ron would
grasp UNIX especially well, either. :-)
53 students in a single class, eh? Hmm... hope the TA (Harry)
has a TA or two... ah, yes: excellent! :-)
Well, the blood circulation around Harry's face seems to be in
good order. :-}
It seems that Slughorn has provided Harry an object lesson in
understanding that some folks need bigger 2x4s upside the head
than others.... :-}
You got a chuckle out of me with the scene in McGonagall's
office. :-)
It seems that Harry & Ginny's relationship has progressed to a
rather important step. It should be interesting to see how all
concerned react to this. For that matter, I wonder if Ginny will
be able to use the Disillusionment Charm to get back to her dorm
-- and whether her roommates will have noticed. :-}

Brilliant. This was such a good chapter, and Harry and Ginny making love at the end was beautifully written at the end.
I loved this whole chapter from Harry's shock over hearing about Neville, to your wonderful description of how he felt when talking to Slughorn and getting his mind back into the task, to McGonagall's help, and finally back to Ginny.
Really good stuff.

Is there another soul-bond happening here at the end of this chapter? It definitely seems like it to me, but I've been known to jump to conclusions and miss the obvious before.
