I'm really pining for year three now... any chance of it coming sometime soon? :) Reviewer: hpf2114 Signed Date: 2006.07.09 - 03:31PM Title: Conversations, Confrontations, & Quidditch No Review Reviewer: luckyHarry Signed Date: 2006.07.06 - 10:38PM Title: Conversations, Confrontations, & Quidditch I started reading this a few days ago, and couldn't stop. I just finished and all I can say is WOW. This is fantastic. It's so imaginitve, and the way you have written it is perfect. This idea is one that could have easily been ruined if not written properly, but you have done an excelent job with it. Reviewer: Chreechree Signed Date: 2006.07.05 - 02:40AM Title: Conversations, Confrontations, & Quidditch I loved all three of the scenes where Harry spoke to his friends, and they all were perfectly suited to each person’s temperament. Ginny’s was the most emotionally difficult for Harry, and she hugged and soothed him. Hermione’s analytical approach turned out to be helpful in its own way, and she should be able to help Harry discover things that should help this time around. Neville trusted, just as he always does, and Ron knew there wasn’t a hurry and linked it to chess – and then asked about Quidditch – again. I love his friends for their faith in Harry and am grateful for the different strengths they share with him. I was also particularly fond of both McGonagall and Harry separately stating that Dumbledore succeeded in completing the Slytherins’ goal by not letting him play in the match. It was gratifying that Dumbledore realized how badly he bungled that and set things to rights. As for the match, the twins’ bludger move was cool. I like seeing players other than Harry get some of the glory… but just some. My favorite part of the chapter (besides Harry’s confessional discussion with Ginny) was their discussion after the tournament when he told her that part of the challenge of tournaments was determining how to win within the rules and, of course, that she deserved her victory. I’m so glad I am finally caught up. I really did take my time since I knew there was a long way to go in this story, so now I will wait somewhat impatiently. It’s been so much fun so far, and I can’t wait to see where you take us next. You said before that some muse wouldn't leave you alone, and if you keep writing stuff like this, then I hope it bugs you until your dying day. =P Reviewer: SueP Signed Date: 2006.07.03 - 08:52AM Title: Conversations, Confrontations, & Quidditch There are so many bits and parts of this chapter that were perfect. I’m glad you decided to have Harry let Ginny and Hermione know about Harry’s first future. I think you played it very well. I've always thought Harry needs to be honest with Ginny for his own sake – she’s always his strongest supporter and Harry’s stronger with her supporting him. But I think he wouldn’t be able to accept her support if he hadn’t been completely honest with her. And I love how organized and focused Hermione tried to be with the information – go timelines and library research! And still in the end she bursts into tears because of Harry’s “inner Hermione”. That was so very cannon!Hermione. LOL that Neville was able to decipher Luna’s strategy for countering the ambush and then tried to imitate his gran to intimidate others. I love your Ron – you’ve captured all his goodness (I choked when you described his first future sacrifice) yet you let him still be a bit of an overprotective goof (which he is at 13), although now he alternates being protective of Harry, to Ginny, and to Hermione. His reaction to the Weasley is Our King song was beautiful! I also want to give big kudos for pointing out that the HUGEST difference between Tom Riddle and Harry is that Harry cares desperately about his friends, enough to die for any one of them, he’s not looking for supporters or to gain power. Bravo on pushing that point through Dumbledore. Reviewer: Katehc2 Signed Date: 2006.07.02 - 01:03PM Title: Conversations, Confrontations, & Quidditch Indeed, this is a grand AU you have developed. I await the next book. I especially liked McGonagall confronting Dumbledore regarding his treatment of Harry. | |||||||
