I've read through this fic more than once now, and finally felt compelled to review. This is the first review I've ever put up on this site, and it is not without reason that this fic receives that honor. The NoFP fic and the universe it has created is, far and away, one of the best fanfics or pieces of derivative writing I have ever had the pleasure of reading. It is amazing, both in scope of the story and in execution of imagination. I was just re-reading today and happened upon a passage that included Harry musing that Dumbledore might interfere with him 'for the greater good' - and having recently read DH I was quite amused :)

Anyway, meaty specifics as requested. I absolutely love the occasional perspective shifts and interludes of a sort. Incredible amounts of crucial character development happens for Harry's friends (and family now) in those scenes and it adds so much emotional depth to the fic. So much time is spent in the fic with Harry's running internal monologue it is very refreshing to have the occasional break to see things from another perspective.

Also, in my opinion, this is one of the few fanfics that seems to have managed to achieve a level of high tragedy, and the emotional impact that goes along with something like that, without feeling like it was intentionally written to be depressing. Maybe this is just me, but I can't stand reading a story where there is no hope at all for most or all of the story; this fic seems to achieve the perfect balance (for me at least) between tragedy, despair, and hope for Harry and his friends.

I love seeing the responses of various characters as Harry reveals more of the truth about himself to them. With that said, one of my 'gripes' - though minor - does exist because, up to this point, basically nobody has taken Harry's revelations badly. I don't mean to complain about any of the characters in particular, it just doesn't strike me as realistic to assume that *all* of Harry's past friends will be willing to accept Harry's wild tale with an open mind. Normally this is the kind of thing I would personally nominate Percy for, but he seems to have swung back over to the good side, annoying as he is.

I do see a confrontation with Dumbledore approaching in the near future; Dumbledore is a smart man, and an observent man. After the events of Ch.33, there is no way Dumbledore, at least in my mind, is going to be content to passively observe Harry after his display of magical abilities. I don't mean a confrontation as in a fight, and I don't think your Harry really is in the mood to risk a tell-all with Dumbledore, but the man is Headmaster and has the responsibility for keeping the school safe; if Harry has enough magical power to impact the wards from within a classroom, Dumbledore is going to have to have words with him until he is satisfied that Harry is no threat to his school.

Anyway, you asked for a meaty review, so I tried to comply. Feel free to ignore any 'advice' I give, you're the writer, I'm the reader, and there's good reason for that - my imagination is bollocks. My final words: This fic is awesome, and my greatest fear is that you'll run out of time and never finish it.

Author's Response: Well, the Weasleys did take things rather badly at first, which led to Ron blessing them out and comparing them to the Malfoys. However, a lot of that happened off-camera, which is good for merged-Harry's tattered conscience. Dumbledore is already highly concerned with Harry, but the boy's occlumency and Hermione's discovery about Legilimency mean that he is at a distinct disadvantage for gathering information. Young Harry is unreadable, and now on his guard. That's why the indirect observations of McGonagall and Lupin are of such interest to him... And events in chapter 34 will both revlieve and alarm him.

What a brilliant story! I thought Sirius was in trouble, but I had hoped the Dementors wouldn't get him! I thought it was great that Harry was finally able to tell the Weasley's who he really is and what he had to do.

Another riveting chapter! With most people now aware of Harry's "situation," it seems they should be able to work together more easily. I have two questions:

First, why didn't you have Mr. and Mrs. Weasley react more strongly to the fact that Harry is really a 30 year old man in a 12/13 year old's body? They -- or at least Mrs. W -- are aware of Ginny's feelings for Harry, but now it's Harry with a 30 year old mind. I'm interested in your thoughts on that topic.

Likewise, your reasons -- as much as you can say at this point -- on why you've made Mrs. Longbottom obstruct the seemingly positive relationship Neville has developed with Luna. Obviously, Luna is unusual, but Mrs. L, in canon, seemed like someone who went straight to the core of things. Plus, Neville has progressed tremendously with this group, including Luna. Just interested in hearing your thoughts behind how yo're portraying Mrs. L.

Again, another very well written and moving chapter!

OK, I’m a wee bit compulsive when it comes to reviewing. I always leave a review, especially for stories like this because I go back and read them when it updates so I get my head back into it. I don’t see my review. OK, well, I’ll leave one now because I absolutely loved this chapter.

I can’t imagine the burden that has been lifted from Harry now that he can stop lying to the people closest to him. While admitting his level of depression and self-loathing had to be difficult, at least Ron forced the family why he did it. He did it for all of them, to give them a chance to live their lives. As disturbing as it might be, how could they not be grateful? Still, at least he has confessed, and they can figure out where to go from here together.

I want to know if Harry is going to fill Percy in on how he turned his back on the family. I hope that his Percy will see his folly and remain loyal to the Weasleys and all they represent.

As much as I adored Ron for his tenacious and even pugnacious defense of Harry, it was Ginny reaching out and reassuring a frightened Harry that was the heart of this chapter. I love how their relationship is developing. The scene was brief, but it was enough for Harry to regroup and return to the people who will stand beside him. Excellent as always.

I really like the way you describe all the different characters' personalities and reactions. Your story is really developed and you should definitely keep it that way =P Well, I hope I don’t have to wait long for the next chapter! So no stress right? X )

p.s----> this review is for all the previous chapters as well.

Wow, I love this story. I love the whole idea of Harry gong back and trying to do everything better. At first I was worried about the way the relationship would be established, but not any more. Keep writting, I'm eagerly waiting an update.

But in all seriousness this story is great and i absolutly love it. The writting is very well done and I love where you are taking the story. I can't wait for updates!

i like how you are changing things...luna in Gryffindor instead...love it...neville confident...lets just say i have no complaints so far...though most parts where you talk about Harrys future/past i start to choke up...holding back tears and all...like where tonks died...or anything to do with ginny's death...ah hell...all of their deaths....

i look forward to your next update, so please post soon...i love it...tis brilliant...keep it up....again...love the changes you have made...and love the Luna/neville interactions...poor neville...but we all know that he likes her...right?....anyway...gotta get off now...good...update soon...love it...~Ginny M~

You know, I just spent the better part of two days reading this. I love it when that happens - when I get so caught up in a really long story and just read it for hours.

However, of all the chapters for me to stop on, it's this one.

I quite like where this is going. I'll admit, you had me scared for a minute with the dream Harry had with Dumbledore. I couldn't help but think "OH NO! One of THOSE authors!"

I'm certain you know which kind I'm referring to. The authors that change the plot of the story abruptly with sudden jumps through time. Ugh, luckily, you are not like that.

I love AU stories, and I've seen this one floating around, but never really read it for some reason. Whew, glad I did. I love the relationships and how they're developing. I really like how Harry and Ginny are very very close in a cute way without it being creepy and weird because of their age.

Luna cracks me up. =)

The only complaint I MIGHT have is with Dumbledore. After the sixth book, I've been quite fond of his relationship with Harry. I understand Harry not telling Dumbledore everything - that's natural - but their relationship is rocky, at best. I guess it's just a little hard to get use to. Dumbledore has done some stupid things, but he always recognizes it and is quick to admit he was wrong. Ah, no matter, hopefully it will improve with time.

You had me near tears at some points. Mostly describing a character's death. Ron's especially had me shivering. Poor Harry - suddenly left all alone. Eck, it's terrible for him.

You know what else is terrible? This review. I'm writing a bloody novel here. In short (too late huh?) I'm loving this story and am looking forward to seeing Harry's patronus.
