Ron was a bit stupefied. He had spent the whole day looking for Harry and Hermione. He was wondering where these two could be hiding. He had realised that today was St-Valentine's Day and was wondering if they had now become a couple. He didn't really like the idea since Ron still arbored feelings for Hermione. So, Ron had started looking for his two best friends. He had currently just come back in the common room after looking around the grounds.
"Hey Ginny, have you seen Harry or Hermione?" he asked when he noticed his younger sister sitting alone by the fireplace, reading.
"No? Why are you asking?"
"I can't find them anywhere..."
Ginny thought about it for an instant before she said "It's St-Valentine's Day. Maybe they are on a secret date..."
Ron groaned.
"What's the problem?" she asked.
"I don't know, I just don't like the idea."
Ginny rolled her eyes. "Ron, you are already dating Lavender. Why wouldn't you like the idea of your two best friends dating?"
"Lavender and I don't work as well as we once did. I don't really like being with her anymore and, well..."
"You still have feelings for Hermione?" asked the red-headed girl. The fact that her brother only looked away confirmed what she had said. "Why would you have dated Lavender if it's Hermione that interest you?" Ron muttered something in a very low voice but Ginny still managed to catch it. "You did it to make Hermione jealous?" she said, slightly shocked.
"What about you?" retorqued Ron. "I'm not an idiot, I know your crush never left and evolved into something else but you still dated other people like Michael Corner and Dean. Good thing you left him by the way..."
"That's different!" said Ginny, blushing slightly. "I never tried to make Harry jealous! I only dated them to try and move on from Harry."
"Did it work?"
Ginny shook her head, annoyed.
"So, will you help me find them then?" asked Ron.
"Urg, fine!" said Ginny, slamming her book close. "Where did you look?"
"Everywhere! They aren't in any classroom, corridors nor outside."
"Did you ask yourself where you would go if you wanted to be alone with your friend slash potential date?"
Ron's eyes widened. "I didn't check the Room of Requirements!"
"How could you not think about that? I mean honestly, it's the first place I would have looked at! Well, let's go then..."
The two youngest Weasleys arrived in front of the tapestry of Barnabas the Barmy.
"There's no door," said Ron.
Ginny, however, rolled her eyes. She knew that the door wasn't always present, even when someone was using that room. It was, after all, how they managed to hold the D.A. for so long the previous year without being found.
Ginny walked three times in front of the wall, thinking "I need a place where I can meet someone secretly." She knew that she was successful when she saw the door appeared. Ginny and Ron looked at each other before they slowly approached the door and opened it. They never expected to see what they found.
Ron thought that they would find Harry and Hermione on a romantic date, probably eating dinner together or snogging on a sofa.
Ginny thought the same thing but unlike her brother, she hoped that it wouldn't be the case. She knew that if it was, Harry and Hermione would probably be angry at them for interrupting their date.
What they found, however, was Harry and Hermione, sitting around a small table filled with bottles of Firewhiskey. They were completely drunk. Both of their jaws fell to the floor. Harry and Hermione, however, were too drunk to even realise that they weren't alone anymore.
"I HATE today!" shouted a drunk Harry.
Hermione snorted. "Your life must be sad if you always hate today."
"No... no... no..." said Harry, violently shaking his head. "Not today, Today."
"Whaa?"
"Today, Saint-Vals..."
"Aaaahhhhh." said Hermione, nodding furiously before taking another sip from her bottle.
The two Weasleys looked at each other with wide eyes. They didn't even need to say a word for both of them to acknowledge that they needed to make them stop. They were way too drunk. The duo took a few steps forward but both were stopped in shock when Harry talked.
"I hate Saint-Vaaals because Ginny's not there!" Then, poking himself where his heart was, he shouted "IT HURT HERE!"
Ginny looked at the drunken Harry with shock. She had never guessed that Harry was returning her feelings. But then she remembered that Harry was, in general, someone who kept his emotions close to himself and rarely opened himself up to others. She guessed that the only reason she knew now was because Harry was drunk.
Harry then snorted and laughed.
"What's so funny?" asked Hermione, not completely looking straight at him.
"I hope Ron never find out about the dreams I have about Ginny or I'm DEAD!" he said, laughing and banging his head on the table, a few bottles falling on the ground. Ginny's eyes widened again before she blushed bright red. Ron just closed his eyes, hoping that his best mate wouldn't go any further.
"Least Ginny's not snogging a tart..." said Hermione before she burst out crying.
"Hey, hey, hey, shhhhhhhh." said Harry, slowly wrapping an arm around her. "Ron's an idiot... I never got why you fancy him... or what Lavender see in him. He'll turn around, I'm sure."
Now it was Ron's turn to look shocked.
"Hey!" shouted Hermione angrily. "Ron's good, okay?"
"Good mate? Yes. Good boyfriend? I'm not sure."
Ron didn't know if he should be angry at Harry, happy that Hermione defended him or just laugh at the situation.
"At least you never had to see Ginny snogging..." muttered the sobbing girl not so quietly.
Harry laughed again. "I did! Ron and I once found her and Dean snogging after Quidditch. I wanted to fire him from the team and then kill him on the spot just for doing that... I love her just like you love Ron, why won't she love me!" he finished with a shout before he hit his head on the table again and burst out crying as well.
"I think we should put a stop to this now!" whispered Ginny to Ron. Ron nodded and they took a few more steps toward the duo before Harry spoke up again.
"Do you ever have wet dreams about Ron?" he blurted.
"Yes, I do and I will never answer your question!" said Hermione with a bit of drunken anger.
"I have dreams about Ginny... one time we were together in bed and then..." but was interrupted when a furiously blushing Ginny put her hand on his mouth.
Hermione chuckled. "I think I drank a bit too much Firewhiskey, I could swear Ginny is here..."
Harry wanted to verify her claim. He looked at the hand on his mouth and his eyes followed the arm before his gaze fixed on Ginny's blushing face. Harry's eyes widened. He wanted to see if it was real or not which meant initiating physical contact. He could easily just have touched her arm with his hand but Drunk Harry wasn't thinking straight. He instead checked by licking her hand with his tongue.
"Harry!" said Ginny in shock, pulling her hand back to herself.
Harry chuckled again. "I don't think it's your imagination Mione..." before he banged his head on the table, AGAIN, and started snoring. He had fallen asleep.
"Uh?" said Hermione. "Who would have thought..." she said before falling asleep as well. She would have fallen to the ground had Ron not caught her.
"Bloody hell!" said Ron loudly.
"I think it's safe to assume that they weren't on a date..."
"Do you think it's true, everything they said?" asked Ron with hope.
Ginny nodded. "They are obviously drunk and didn't realise until the end that we were there. People usually are way more open when they are drunk."
"What do we do with them?" he asked.
"Let's bring them to the Hospital Wing," said Ginny. Both took out their wands and levitated them before they started walking down to the Hospital Wing.
In the middle of the trip, both Harry and Hermione woke back up. Harry took one look toward Ron before he burst out laughing. "Mione!" Mione!"
"What?"
"It's Won-Won!" said Harry amidst his laughter. Ron looked both embarrassed and angry while Ginny snorted.
"It's Won-Won!" repeated Hermione in awe.
"Won-Won!" said Harry.
"Won-Won!" said Hermione.
"Won-Won!"
"Won-Won!"
"Won-Won!"
"Won-Won!"
"Won-Won!"
"SHUT-IT!" shouted Ron. Ginny burst out laughing.
"Is someone playing music?" asked Harry.
"Nah, only someone laughing..." said Hermione, falling back asleep.
"I could swear it was musical..." said Harry before he blacked out again.
"Bloody hell!" said Ron, again. "They're even worse than the twins!"
Ginny nodded. She and Ron had once found the twins drunk as well. They weren't much different from Harry and Hermione currently were but the difference was that the twins were always like that, even sobber. Harry and Hermione however...
They finally arrived at the Hospital Wing. "Madam Pomfrey!"
"What is it?" asked the matron before she noticed the levitated Harry and Hermione. She sighed. "Well, seems like it is another stay for Mr. Potter. Miss Granger however is a surprise. What are their problems?"
"Well, they are totally drunk..." said Ron.
"Drunk?" said Madam Pomfrey in surprise.
"Yes. We found them while they were drinking Firewhiskey. Many bottles were already empty." said Ginny.
"Well, put them on a bed each then."
X-X-X-X
Harry woke up the following morning with a splitting headache. "Ow."
"Harry, I hate you." said someone which Harry recognised as Hermione. Harry opened his eyes and saw that she was holding her head in her hands.
"Drinking on St-Valentine's Day was a bad idea..."
"Yes, it was." said a familiar feminine voice. She sounded amused.
"Ginny!?" said Harry in shock.
"Not just her mate." said someone else.
"Ron?" asked Hermione. Both Weasleys were sitting on wooden chairs between their beds. Ginny was closest to his while Ron was closest to hers.
"Yes," answered Ron.
"Does anyone have any potions that work against headaches?"
"Madam Pomfrey predicted that you would ask for those so she prepared Hangover Cures and Pain Relief potions," said Ginny, holding a red vial and a green one in both hands. Harry and Hermione quickly grabbed one of each before they quickly drank them. Both sighed in relief while their heads became clearer.
"Hold on, how did we end up here?" asked Harry.
"We found you yesterday evening while you were drinking," answered Ron. Both Harry and Hermione noticeably palled.
"And?" asked Hermione, dreading the worse.
"We might have learned that you both have feelings for us," said Ginny. Ron looked slightly smug while the other two blushed.
"Ah," said Harry, closing his eyes and stayed still. He couldn't help but feel hurt and embarrassed. It's not the way that Harry had ever imagined telling Ginny how he felt about her and hoped that she wouldn't dislike him too much and what the hell is that? Harry opened his eyes. Ginny was kissing him! He must have gone to heaven! Barely thinking, he kissed her back.
Meanwhile, Ron had looked at Harry and Ginny with both a touch of anger and envy. Anger because it was his younger sister kissing his best mate, and envy because unlike Ginny, he couldn't just kiss Hermione right then and there. Ron was still, technically, in a relationship and couldn't just dump Lavender because he realised that Hermione was interested in him, especially not on St-Valentine's Day. Instead, Ron whispered in Hermione's ear. "I would have done the same as Ginny but I need to break things off with Lavender before doing so."
Hermione opened her eyes in confusion before she looked at Harry and Ginny. Harry and Ginny were kissing! Well at that point, it was more snogging as Hermione witnessed Ginny slowly but surely climb into his bed, never stopping kissing him.
She looked back at Ron before she said, "Would you really?"
Ron nodded. "As much as I want to now, it isn't fair for Lavender since we are still technically together but if you want me after, well I will be available," he said with the tip of his ears turning red.
"I might just take on your offer," said Hermione with a grin before kissing his cheek.
Getting drunk on St-Valentine's Day didn't sound so bad of an idea anymore...
