I guess this account isn't totally moth-balled. :) Status 2014-07-26 I just posted the last Harry/Ginny story I've written and that wasn't already here (Harry's Happy Christmas). There is 1 other not here, but you'll only find it on my Fanfiction.net account as one of the editors here suggested I shouldn't post it on SIYE. At this time, I'm sort of moth-balling this account. I might answer questions in reviews for a while longer, but don't expect much activity from me here. There was 1 uncompleted story (Lily's Child). I've removed it so all my stories are complete. If you want to grab a copy of it, go to my Fanfiction.net account soon. I'll probably delete it from there eventually too. If I can ever figure out what to do with it so I know I'll complete it, I'll repost it. You can find almost everything I've written at my FanFiction.net account, including non-SIYE-compliant stories. I consider that "my home". For Ginny only, you can find "Leave Me Alone"*** there. For stories where Ginny is a major character and "1 of several", I have "Harry Potter's Promise" and "Accidental Bond". I also have cross-overs there that don't fit on SIYE (Avengers and Star Trek). Ginny is only mentioned in passing for both of those. I'll probably continue writing for a while longer, I just won't post here because I probably won't be writing H/G much any more. If I do write another H/G, I'll try to remember to put it here too. Generally, I feel I've said most of what I want with that pairing and I want to explore other 'ships. While I think H/G works very well and is my favorite, to me, a 'ship doesn't make the story right or wrong. The story should be good and the leading characters (along with the supporting characters) need to be well developed and matched. With effort, that can be done with most girls near Harry's age. Just because I can do this, :-) I'll summarize my feelings on HP#7. Overall, it is was my least favorite book of the series. There was so much potential and I feel like it delivered so little. But as I mentioned to someone almost immediately after I had first read the book, it's quite possible I don't like it just because I've been "ruined" by fan fiction. And maybe also because it didn't end the way I would have preferred. (I hated the final battle chapters, but I liked the epilogue. :-) I appreciate JKR for her imagination and for sharing her stories with us, but I've come to the conclusion that there are some incredible authors writing fan fiction with fantastic imaginations and the ability to deliver stories I like better. I salute those people and thank them for sharing their imagination, hard work, and time! --kb *** I had a another medium length story titled "Leave Me Alone". It is a story where Harry and Ginny split right after Dumbledore's funeral at the end of Harry's 6th year, he runs away, and it takes Ginny a year to find him and then bring him home to finish the war. My thought was to explore this idea where Harry was not quite as "stupidly noble" as JKR paints him, but to make Harry a little more realistic and let him decide that "he can't take it anymore" after Ginny makes some unwise comments to him. Of course, in the end they would then reunite and live happily ever after. While I feel it is a valid story and something I wanted to explore, I received enough negative feedback after posting a few chapters, including from an archivist, that I deleted this story from SIYE as of Oct 2007. OTOH, the story is written, and so as I didn't want to waste it, it is posted on my FF.net account. Even if it is a steaming pile of "stuff" (I don't think so, but it is my least favorite story) it's still a worthwhile story -- as an example of what not to write if nothing else. :-) So anyone who wants to can read it, because you liked it, just want to see how it ends, or even just want to see what happens when I "push the writing envelop a little too far", feel free to go read it. I believe I know what I did wrong with it, and I might even "fix" it someday. *** Beta-reader: No Membership status: Member Instant Message:[    None   |    None   |    None   |    None   ] Communication:[    None   |    None   |    None   ] Creative:[      |    None   |    None   ]
