Unlike most who read the Potter books over time, with breaks between books, I didn't take interest in the series until a few weeks after book seven came out, so I managed to read all seven over the span of a handful of weeks. While it was convenient to go from "Sorcerer's Stone" to "Hallows" without having to wait the gap between books, it did pose an interesting problem of "Too much, too soon".. After filling a few weeks with the seven books, I was at a loss after the end of seven. A loss that Fan Fics seem to fill nicely.
I prefer to read Cannon/Post-DH almost exclusively, but on the occasion that a favorite author or series is between stories or chapters, Ill manage to find a few gems from the non canon side..
